Telltale Games have shared further details of the retail version of their The Walking Dead game series, which will collect all five episodes on a single disc.

The retail version of The Walking Dead will come in both a regular version, as well as a special GameStop-exclusive collector’s edition. The collector’s edition, which can only be obtained via pre-order, will include:

  • All five episodes of the game.
  • The Walking Dead Compendium One, featuring cover art by Charlie Adlard and the first 48 issues of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic. (“Over 1,000 pages”)
  • Collector’s Edition box with Charlie Adlard artwork.

The collector’s edition will cost $70 while the regular edition will cost $30. In case you’re wondering, you can also pick up The Walking Dead Compendium One book as a standalone item for $50. However, the standalone version will not come with the Charlie Adlard cover art.

I got addicted to watching the TV series and the video games over these few past weeks. I would buy the book but…….my wallet she weeps. A very cool collector’s edition though.

Been watching the episodes of the game online and its pretty cool might give this a look too ^_______^

You should, I’m really liking the game so far. Haven’t played the newest episode yet though sadly.

      • Unfortunately, Episode4 is the weakest so far. It’s still pretty good and engaging, but some things will make you wonder what the hell was in the writer mind.

Looking forward to EP5 anyway. Hopefully, it’ll give this saga the ending it deserves. Overall, I’m very much pleased with what Telltale has done.

Watching? Awh, you ruin part of the experience by not playing it. Actually you’re missing out a lot of the experience.

Don’t have accesses to my ps3 so i can’t download it at the moment. Thats why i am watching it.

It’s available for PC too y’know.

Man, what I have been getting all the DLC version when is the book about to come into stores.

  • Me being a huge fan of the comics makes me want to get this but my wallet tells me no but my mind says yes…

That’s nice comic book artwork, but I wonder if the book and the game are all there is to the Collector’s Edition.. I know the book is big, but the box is huge and takes so much space..  It would be nice if it has a steelbook case, soundtrack, or artbook, for even more incentive.. also as good as the comic artwork look, the regular cover art w/ Lee and the little girl Clementine w/ the zombie lurking behind seem to be more atmospheric… also I kinda prefer regular book 1 cover.. hard to decide.. as it stands, the only thing extra are the diff. cover arts and the big box..

I watched the TV series on Netflix first, in the middle of Season 2 now, loved it.  Played 2 episodes of the game, plain amazing, one of the most engrossing games I’ve ever played, the experience of playing and making decisions and seeing things unfold is even more exciting than just watching the series.. usually point and click adventures inevitably feel slow, but the Walking Dead is gripping, and the slow parts give you some breathers..

I bought the Compendium 2 comic but not 1 yet coincidentally.. The compendium 1’s MSRP is $50, but it’s on sale on Amazon for $35 now.. and the game is $30, and buying from GS has sales tax too, so CE is like $10 more for me.. If you get the PS bundle digitally it’s $20 for 5 eps, so it’s like $15-20 more..

I actually went to Gamestop and put down 25 bucks for the pre-order tonight.. hope I made the right decision. Amazon was actually gonna ship my Compendium 1 this morning, but I canceled it in time.. I must say I’m very anxious to read the comic and play episode 3-5 ASAP. BTW, I like how the trophies/achivement are all chapter related, makes the game more streamlined and doesn’t take you out of the experience..
