Japan is getting special editions of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, too, but they’re different from the North American collector’s edition. In Japan, the game will have two special editions—the Premium Package and the Premium Package Konami Style version, which will be available in limited quantities.

The Premium Package will include the game, a steel case with the game’s soundtrack, a Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance art book with art by Yoji Shinkawa, and a magnetic Dwarf Gekko figure that you can split into pieces:

Meanwhile, the Konami Style version of the Premium Package includes a neat fully poseable Raiden Play-Arts figurine.

The Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Premium Package will cost 9,980 yen ($125)  in Japan. The Konami Style version with the Raiden figure will cost 12,980 yen ($162). Both packages will also include a Cyborg Ninja DLC costume code for Raiden.

Japan gets Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on February 21st, 2013 on the PlayStation 3. In North America, the game will be released for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 19th. The U.S. collector’s edition will come with a plasma lamp, a soundtrack, and a two-sided Steelbook case.

Well looks like Grey Fox is playable in some form.

  • My want for this is “Rising”.

  • Hurt me more!

    • OatMatadoQuatro

“Please hurt me, hurt me more! More Snake, hurt me more bro! I’m so f”#$!ng crazy!”

  • my “solid snake” is rising…

  • OatMatadoQuatro

Nice but why is the Raiden action figure white? (He is supposed to be “Black Raiden”)

    • z_merquise

That’s just a re-paint of the Play Arts Raiden figure.

  • z_merquise

An artbook by Yoji Shinkawa alone is much better than the lamp included in the US limited edition.

    • Just Tim

Yeah, but Americans made it clear to Kojima how they hated Raiden, even though the creator is on record he likes the latter.

      • OatMatadoQuatro

It’s that what Americans hated the most was his androgynous appearance in MGS2 although these types of designs are common in Japanese culture.

  • So … how do I import this?

‘Both packages will also include a Cyborg Ninja DLC costume code for Raiden.’ALL OF MY MONEY.

Wonder how many will play the game with the Grey Fox skin, then mute the game and pretending it’s all about Frank.

Not spreading hate or anything, I just wonder if there are some fans out there so super-psyched over Grey Fox that they’d actually go that far.

    • …… (*o*) …… i would

      • Göran Isacson

Ha ha, guess that you’re the kind of fan they were thinking off then ;) Nice off them to at least throw his fans a bone.

  • No Collector in Europe ? :(

I’m really wondering if Rising has dual track or not, because MGS games never had it, but some Platinum Games do..  like Zone of the Enders most likely wouldn’t.. If I know it’s only one language, I would get the US ver on 360 and import the PS3 ver, what I did w/ Peacewalker HD and MGS 2/3 HD..

The Raiden figure is pretty cool.. so is the dwarf gekko.. I wish the US ver would have the Shinkawa artbook too.  Even though the soundtrack and steelbook case are nice, $150 is just too much for a LE w/ a lamp, don’t know how big it is either, probably small..

Steelbook case looks awesome, but the regular cover art w/ Raiden and the dog looks cool too :)  can’t wait for this game.

The plasma lamp is cool and all but this is much much much cooler.

  • Zero Shift

And once again, Japan gets the better CE. What’s new? Lol.

  • grey fox costume !!!!! ………. i just died

  • BenderIsGreat

Screw it. I’d buy this and a US edition of the game.
