Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation’s Touch Controls Detailed

By Ishaan . October 27, 2012 . 2:00pm

A new developer interview for Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation shows off the game’s Vita-specific features, such as touch controls. Take a look at this below:

As previously reported, Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation lets its protagonist, Aveline, take on three different guises. You can read about those here. The game will be available on October 30th.

Managed to pick up the game early and I have to say that Liberation is fantastic. There’s a glitch that may pop up every now and then, but I’ve gone through one update last night and it actually cleared the issue instantly.
Aveline is definitely a new breath of fresh air. =)

Playing as Connor on the Vita is gonna be really neat. ACIII: Liberation is gonna be my first Vita game since I’m picking the crystal white bundle. I’m not planning on buying ACIII on the first day, but considering that a lot of my friends are buying it, playing the extra missions won’t be a problem :D Just finished ACII and Brotherhood, I couldn’t be any more hyped up :D

I actually want this the slightest bit more than AC3. I like Connor, but Aveline is a much more interesting mix of a protagonist. The Native American/colonist thing isn’t exactly new ground in historical fiction, but this is the first time I’ve ever heard of a character like Aveline having a starring role. Bonus points for her being a female, and what seems to be a well-written one at that.

    • xXDGFXx

Well, she is one of the few female protagonists that actually lead the story without being… lollipop chainsaw…

After playing a little of the first one, I’ve never really been interested in the series, but Assassin’s Creed 3 is what has me interested in the series.  Everyone says the second Assassin’s Creed is when the series actually starts to get good, so just my luck that  the Ezio Trilogy is being released soon.

I’m hyped up for the Ezio Trilogy, and by the time I’m done with those, Assassin’s Creed 3 and Liberation should be cheap(or atleast cheaper.)  If not.  I don’t have to wait too long for it to finally happen.

Yeah, the first one has the villains with the best explanations for
their actions, but the mission structure and gameplay is not so good,
and Altair is barely important to the events surrounding him – he’s a
hired killer, after all. Ezio has much improved gameplay, more
interesting mission structure and far more engaging personal
      motivations.

The second one was much better gameplay wise, but the story (particularly the ending) was just absolutely ridiculous (as in stupid).

    3 days!! =D

So excited. I cannot wait to get my hands on the Vita bundle and actually play this game. It looks very impressive.

  • DurableTomb

Technically, don’t all games (except the ones that use the Kinect) use “Touch Controls”?

I saw what you did there…

I tried to get into the series, but I just couldn’t, I don’t like at all:
    - I don’t like the story, I don’t like being a random guy who put a VR thingy to get to the past instead of being a real assassin in the real time period.
    - I don’t like that the game doesn’t reward creativity, I don’t like getting seen by a guard at one end that SOMEHOW spotted me killing a person at the very far end of the place.
    - I don’t like the combat AI, I don’t like being able to one-shot every guard that surrounds me and that attacks me one at a time instead of having to deal with 3 guards attacking me at once.

Yes, it’s a huge sandbox with great graphics and controls, but come on… they don’t favor stealth and instead favor brute force. Thief, from Eidos, at least had the decency to make your character very good at stealth, sniping and stealing, but downright dead at melee. You’re supposed to be an assassin, not a super soldier…

I don’t have a PS3 but I would like to get the extra content with Connor and his tomahawk. A friend is willing to let me use his AC3 when he gets it so I can get access to the content. Is that doable?

  • Aisioux Sano

The only reason I fully bought this title already at gamestop. Is because the Main character is a female, she’s actually very attractive and it came out for the Vita. Not 3DS, not Xbox360. It’s very own Ps Vita. I saw this and was like “SOLD!

I’m not a big fan of AC past, present or future. But I wouldn’t mind checking out a Vita version you know? $40 dollers isn’t bad at all.

As long as Sandy doesnt ruin my plans, I hope to get this with White Vita bundle.  Seems good based on the comments people seem to say who already have it in these here comments it seems.
