Style Savvy 3 Could Potentially Have Real Life Clothing Brands

Style Savvy: Trendsetters for the Nintendo 3DS was released just recently, but Drumcan’s Koji Tamura, who served as a fashion consultant on the game, is already thinking of the next title in the series.

For a “Style Savvy 3,” Tamura says, the development team could potentially consult more fashion industry professionals than they did for Trendsetters, to give the game even more of an educational feel when it comes to fashion and sales.

“When we make the third one, I suppose we’ll call in some charismatic and successful salespeople to get data so the game can be used as educational software for floor sales,” Tamura suggests in an Iwata Asks interview. “I think calling in popular models and stylists and girls who don’t play video games and all sorts of professionals would make it more fun. But the more opinions there are, the harder it gets for the developers.”

Another option, Tamura says, is to team up with actual real-life clothes companies and brands.

“I thought we could do some interesting things—like going to a shop in the game and actually be able to buy the newest items, or cooperating with real shops so that you can go to a real shop and buy the clothes you like that appear in the game,” he shares.

Whether or not a “Style Savvy 3” ends up being developed remains to be seen, but in the meantime, Nintendo plan to release free DLC for Style Savvy: Trendsetters in the form of new fashion items and promotional material.

No one who has 15 grand would be interested in just buying clothes.

    • puchinri

Well, clothes would be a lot of what they buy, but it certainly would not be the only thing.

TecmoKoei should bring over their 3DS fashion game Fab Style to compete against this. It looks a lot better imo

    • Enma_Kozato

Agreed. I’m still holding onto hope for Fab Style getting localized.

Indeed.^_^ Fab Style can be the direct competitors againts Style Savvy but i can’t remember, does Fab Style do well in Japan?

I just hope we can be a guy next time. While I do like the vast choice amount in SS:T for woman, I feel like menswear is severely lacking at this point :|

Just reading this article just made me think of Gucci, Victoria’s Secret, and others.

Sounds like a potential licensing issue.

I hope there is a 3rd game in the series.
some things that should be added can be dating/marriges, no money limits, house expansions, more levels in the fashion contests, more places to visit, to be able to make your own plans(etc)

I think SS3 should be able to let gamers play as a guy, have more levels in the fashion contests, let your profits go up past $99,999. Also i think that SS3 SHOULD have more fashion brands AND more real life brands (H&M,etc.) Personally, i DO believe that the game should involve romance such as boyfriends and going out on dates, other than focusing the mind on fashion 24/7. I do love the fact that in the new SS, men were included to break that feminine feel to the game. I hope that SS3 is better.
