Sony’s Japan Studio are working on a PlayStation 3 platformer titled Puppeteer, where you play as a boy that has been turned into a puppet and is searching for his head. This week, Sony released a new Halloween trailer for the game, which you can watch below:

Puppeteer is being worked on by Gavin Moore, who was involved with Siren, as its creative director. Also from the Siren team is Kazunobu Sato, who is serving as the game’s senior designer.

Puppeteer is slated for release in 2013.

Looks pretty interesting to me, scissors wielding main character puppet, who doesn’t afraid of anything, and tears up spiderwebs because he can. Sounds legit to me. If this comes out I’ll give it a look. I can always use more 2D styled platformers.

Feels like I’m watching Little big Planet. No thanks.

On a superficial level, it’s similar to LBP. But they have completely different focuses. For starters, Puppeteer is a platformer, not a level editor w/platforming in it like LBP.

This looks great! Especially at a time when U.S. politics and hurricanes have over shadowed Halloween. It’s been a depressing season.

LBP technology. Not bad at all.

This looks great. The visuals alone may be worth buying it.

  • Looks pretty cool! Hopefully it sails west

This game just keeps on looking so amazingly fine. Just. So, so gorgeous. Am I shallow for wanting it purely from an aesthetic stand-point? Probably, but I can live with that if it gets me sexyfine puppet action.

    •  The game doesn’t just look fine. This tralier really shows how well you can control your character, which is also super important. Now, if they manage to create a good story and have various difficulty settings for us to try than this game will be perfect.

We can only hope, my fellow enthusiast of fine puppet-action. We can only hope.

Like what I saw. Especially that vampire guy. He’s silly.

This game is ridiculously good-looking. Pity it isn’t getting the attention it deserves ;(

Japan Studio is my favorite 1st party Sony developer. I haven’t been this excited for a game since Ni no Kuni, which isn’t out yet, and I still want like crazy.

I remember Amazon recommending me this.
