Capcom say that DmC Devil May Cry will have three difficulty modes (Human, Devil Hunter and Nephilim), and an additional four that you can unlock with successive playthroughs:

Son of Sparda – Remixed enemy layouts, tougher enemies and enemy behaviour throughout.

Dante Must Die – Same as above, but contains the strongest enemies and “insane attack waves”.

Heaven or Hell – Another remixed mode, but everything, including Dante, dies after one hit here.

Hell and Hell – The same as above, but only Dante dies after one hit.

DmC Devil May Cry will be released on January 15th, 2013 in North America.
