By Ishaan . November 1, 2012 . 12:30pm

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn producer, Naoki Yoshida, has a tiny update for fans in his latest “Letter from the Producer” column. Ten days are left until the FFXIV servers go offline on November 1st, Yoshida reminds readers, following which all data recorded up until that point will be moved to A Realm Reborn.

Yoshida also says that the game’s alpha test is underway, and that there have been no major problems thus far. The development team has begun taking in player feedback.

Finally, Yoshida says that Square are continuing to add alpha testers, so if you signed up for the alpha, you might be one of the lucky few that receives an invite in your e-mail.

Game looks really nice, nice colors and very smooth graphics.

I’ll be very curious to see how the PS3 version will run.Hope they do a good optimization job.

So far I remember seeing an article saying it runs at 1280x5XX while the HUD runs at 720p. And it still looks stunning (Then again… Alan Wake ran at 960×540 and it’s still one amazing looking game).

Even then though… I wouldn’t expect a pefectly smooth framerate (On PS3 or PC). It IS an MMO after all.

  • This is wonderful news as I am looking forward to playing it =^_^=

The graphics are good, but it bothers me how the character models look. They look to soft; all of them, like they’re all made out of cake and frosting.
