Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed Has Added Features On Wii U

By Ishaan . November 11, 2012 . 12:00pm

Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed will be a Wii U launch game, and Sega recently put out a trailer showing off the game’s Wii U-specific features, such as a rearview mirror on the Wii U GamePad, motion controls, and the ability to play the game on the GamePad itself. Take a look at it below:

Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed will be released on November 18th. The game is also on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS.

The game looks like so much fun~. I can’t wait to play it. Sumo also worked pretty hard to please some fandoms, and I totes want to support that.

It would be an innovation if you could use the rear view mirror feature while playing the game on the gamepad at the same time.

But the objects on the mirror are closer than they appear!

You know, I could see myself getting this.  I haven’t really gotten into many Sonic games (though Sonic Rush was pretty wicked cool) but the idea of having a Mario Kart game, even if it’s a knock off brand, on the Wii U is just too darn appealing.  Wii U is going to be the best local multiplayer machine of it’s generation, and having some Kart racing with friends for the first year or two until Mario Kart comes out… yeah, that would be worth $60.

Welp, 5 players offline pretty much sells me on the WiiU version of the game; time to preorder the classic controller pro thing…

I’ve never liked any of the other Sonic racing games but this one looks fun. I’ll probably get this to hold me off on MH3U in March lol

The game is also on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS. ————–> And PC

  • I kinda want to drive around in a fast Tank from one of the Valkyria Chronicles games lol

  • Spirit Macardi

The game looks pretty fun, even though Sonic driving a car seems like such a weird concept. I actually think it wouldn’t look as off if Sonic was riding something smaller or more sci-fi/fantasy inspired as opposed to what looks like a sports car.

Regardless though, I may pick it up.

I’ve already have this game on pre-order, so I can’t wait to pick it up when it comes out.

However, I’ve keep hearing rumors that Toejam & Earl (among several other highly demand Sega characters) have been deconfirmed for Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed. I certainly hope this isn’t the case, as I really wanted my favourite funky aliens to be part of the roster (even if it’s for DLC) for the first game, but that never happened.

5 Player game easily sold me lol.^_^ And Shinobi with his good old bike also really cool.^_^

I was never this much excited about a new console… whats happening to me o.o

    This game looks dope.

I totally didn’t notice that the WiiU gamepad would mean that you wouldn’t need a racing wheel thing like for Mario Kart as it’s kinda the same.
