By Ishaan . November 16, 2012 . 9:10am

Capcom have uploaded the second video in a series of DmC Devil May developer diary videos, and this introduces the actors that play Vergil and Kat in the upcoming game. Take a look at it below:

In case you missed the previous developer diary with Mundus and Lilith, you can watch that here.

DmC Devil May Cry will be released for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on January 15th, 2013, with a PC release to follow later. Prior to that, on November 20th, Capcom will release a demo for the game with multiple two stages and multiple difficulty settings.

  • 1:23…. Hmmmmmmmmmm….. That’s different.

  • Curan_Altea

These videos are a little short and annoyingly eddited to be all that interesting.

  • Great, now I want those two to meet with Dante’s voice actor, and have him GET HIS ACT TOGETHER. Quality of writing aside, Dante’s voice feels wooden and flat in comparison to the supporting cast.

  • Budgiecat

omg this is so edgy and cutting edge and edgy totally dig the static random edit cuts and zoom ins on the …..voice actors. showing closeups their teeth and all……yeah

  • delon33

    Power Rangers anyone?

  • JustThisOne

I’m totally trying to be interested in this, but the editing is hindering that. I don’t really see why they feel the need to do that if they game itself is (supposedly) edgy enough already. I mean.. I understand that this is also marketing, but I feel like these crazy cuts and static images shouldn’t be a part of a dev diary – where people go to try to learn more about the game.

    Anyway, enough of that.

I’m going to say that it’s cool that they’re all in the same room when they’re recording scenes and mo-capping. Lines can really come out weird if you don’t know what the other people sound like. I probably won’t have to worry about the voice acting in this game. It doesn’t seem bad.

Ugh, this video is a joke. I nearly lost my iced tea from laughing when everything slowed down and the music got serious when David said he played Vergil. Like it’s a big deal. How about a nice, simple video saying what they have to say without the unnecessary edits? The stuttering and repeating of already said things. If I wanted to hear a certain thing said, I’d rewind the damn video.

These videos are just terrible. The only thing left to do would be adding lots of explosions.

  • sperium

Sheesh, people who posted before me, no need for all this vitriol. The video isn’t unwatchable.

All the fanhate aside, the actor who plays Vergil must have done a lot of voice training. His natural voice has an accent, but when he plays Vergil, there is no trace of it.

    • Aoshi00

Yeah, it was just a behind the scene video :) I think it’s really cool these actors performed both the mo-cap acting and voices, just like the previous Ninja Theory games or Uncharted and such..

I’m always amazed people could do diff. accents well.. like Andrew Garfield playing the new Spidey, but in interviews, he would speak like a Brit :)  Many other Australian actors as well playing as Americans in Hollywood movies, some better than the others..

I want to see Haytham Kenway’s VA, he sounds so damn cool in AC3 :)  He could be a James Bond.. I read on IMDB he appeared on some movies and TV shows but never seen them..

Kat reminds me of the arrow girl in Heavenly Sword..

  • Jake_Indiman

I am getting excited for this game, and will probably buy it. But the editing person for these videos needs to go back to school.

    • OatMatadoQuatro

It kind of improved considering the first video.

  • Richard N

    4 more days people….

    • OatMatadoQuatro

You mean 4 more days to show respect to this game or to grab torches?

  • Spirit Macardi

You’d think the most basic element they could have kept from the old series is the tradition of the mo-cap/voice actors being former Power Rangers crew, but I guess not…

I’m still going to try the demo just so I can give this a chance, but at this point I think my expectations have actually reached negative digits.
