Want Duke Nukem 3D for free? Head over to GOG.com and pick it up. Once you’ve got the base game, you can also visit this GOG forum thread to download a bunch of fan-developed mods to spice it up, including a high-resolution mod.

Meanwhile, the rest of GOG.com is running a holiday sale. Check out their front page for more details, but a few of the highlights include Icewind Dale  Neverwinter Nights and Planescape Torment for $4.99 each.

Also available are Dreamfall: The Longest Journey for $7.49, Theme Hospital for $2.99 and Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption for $2.99, among other deals.

Got that Duke Nukem~ even if I still have the disc version, it was the vanilla one. At least now I’ll get to try the much-lauded fourth episode. It doesn’t seem to have a disc file so I can just copy it on my old PC for maximum performance.

It seems they are having heavier disconts on different bundles every day, so just like with Steam, my advice would be to wait until the last day to buy anything that is on regular sale right now. Of course, if you just want to get something to buy for Christmas, 50% off is still pretty good.

I’m hoping for a Tomb Raider at 75% off bundle, myself. I didn’t like TR1 that much back in the days, but for $7.50 for all the games I would certainly not mind plunging.

    • Tomb Raider III is the one you really want to try out. That was the highlight of the old series. Very varied locations and some of the best level design.

OMG Planescape Torment for $5! That’s such a good deal. I remember playing this game over a decade ago. Such a fun game, but I never did finish it. Definitely picking up this gem.

  • More importantly, why aren’t you buying Neverwinter Nights Diamond? Five bucks for all that content is a steal.

The main campaign drags on a bit, though. It’s all about the expansions.

There is a DVD with Planescape, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur’s Gate I and II, and other things, I think it’s 7 or 8 games all together for 20$. I recommend tracking that down, as it’s a hell of a deal.

  • I’m going to get Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) and Alone in the Dark 1-2-3. They are 3$ each :D
