Dead Space 3 Has A New Trailer; Voice Commands Using Kinect

Electronic Arts have released a new trailer for Dead Space 3, mentioning the differences between the game’s single-player and co-op modes:

Depending on whether you go solo or co-op, you’ll see Dead Space 3’s story expand. EA previously announced that co-op allows you to experience extra story scenes. The game features drop-in and out co-op, so another player can pick up a second controller at any point.

Additionally, EA have also announced that the game will support voice commands on the Xbox 360 if you own a Kinect. You’ll be able to issue commands to your AI partner via voice.

Dead Space 3 will be released for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 5th, 2013 in North America.

Man it’s like if Michael Bay made a zombie movie… I hope they didn’t turn Isaac into too much of a space marine…

Side note: since there seems to be some form of voice commands for allies, I’m assuming he’ll be rolling with more than just Carver and, possibly, Ellie?

  • If they really wanted to, Visceral Games would’ve tweaked the voice commands so that the Necromorphs can hear you and they’ll appear at random spots. lol

voice commands are interesting .but make them risky…like if u give a command too loudly other things, aliens, “bad stuff” can hear u and run to your location. i just would think its a little bit of a realistic thing and i would be whispering at a kinect ever so quietly while being extremely tense.
