Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have released a new developer diary video for the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. This one gives an overview of the game’s base camp and other features such as the upgrade system that you use for survival on the game’s mysterious island:

We went over a few of these features in our last hands-on session with the game. You can read that here. Tomb Raider will be released on March 5th, 2013.

The voice over guy sounded epic. This is looking a lot like assassins creed 3 to me (which isn’t really a bad thing) but i will wait for more footage until i make my choice whether to buy it or not.

All I saw was a bunch of ingame QTEs, comedy gold.

OKAY so since Youtube is weird for me I can’t access this video. Can anyone tell me, based on what they see here, if this video says anything on how they will balance the camp with the “Uncharted”-esque action segments? All I’ve seen so far from the game are the latter, but whenever I look at the descriptions of the camp it makes the game sound like some sort of open-world game. Does it look like they’re actually balancing these two sides, or does the whole “hunt and make your own camp”-stuff look like it will be strictly linear and scripted sequences meant to raise your EXP, as I fear they may become?

  • It look likes this games gonna be open world.. maybe.. haha
