Tell Capcom What Franchises And Downloadable Games You Want To See

By Ishaan . December 20, 2012 . 11:35am

Capcom want your input regarding future endeavours in the downloadable games space. For this purpose, they’ve put up a survey for fans to take, where you can make your voice heard and let them know what you’d like to see in the way of different franchises and title types.

Want to see a ports of classic titles, like say Marvel vs. Capcom 2 or something like Okami HD? You can let them know. HD remakes like Bionic Commando Rearmed? Let ‘em know. Original IP? There’s an option for that, too.

You can even let them know what Capcom franchises interest you most. There’s even a question that asks: “Was Mega Man one of your favorite Capcom franchises?”

You can access the survey here.

  • Kevi Johnson-el

All I want is mmx9 and a new legends game,I would even take a remake of the first 2

  • shion16

    Megaman 1 -10 + Megaman & Bass for PS3/PSVita
And more Onimusha games , with Jean Reno !

Breath of Fire I-II GBA versions on 3DS & Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter PS2 Classics.

    • TheRealMalek

Someone want a rerelease of Dragon Quarter ? O_o
It was that title that “bombed” breath of fire series, and i was thinking that really few people would want it to be rereleased (not that i can’t understand, if you like it that’s cool with me).

  • Shadowman

Mega Man Battle Network digital download on the 3DS eShop

  • Morricane

Breath of Fire VI? (we can’t all say Megaman…)

    • FFmax

      ^This, so much.

    • DesmaX

Breath of Fire VI as a downloadable game would be weird

      • pimpalicious

If it went back to the style of I-IV it would be perfect as a digital title for about 20 bucks.

    • AuraGuyChris

Don’t they hate that series, though?

      • Keyanf

Capcom hates almost all of its series.

    • So much yes! The survey doesn’t give much Breath of Fire love so be sure to make your voices heard in the comment sections!

    • Foryth

Breath of Fire was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this article. :)

  • So there are options to vote for each individual game in each of the franchises you choose as your favorites. That’s pretty neat and thorough.

Too bad Breath of Fire didn’t get a section like that though…

    • Guest

I see Breath of Fire in the section…

      • Oh, I did see the small questions. It’s an expanded section like Megaman, Street Fighter and Resident Evil that I didn’t see.

  • ヴァルラシュ

Apollo Justice Wii u port please, the gamepad makes it possible

  • DesmaX

“NEW HD Mega Man – side-scrolling, jump and shoot (HD sprite based or 2.5D)”

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

      Here’s a E-tank

  • Go2hell66

Wow can you imagine a new HD battle network game!?(saw it in the survey)
just the thought of it made me salivate :p

  • Mega Man X4 ~ 5 As for vita as a ps1 classic O uOb

  • Yvonne Tsang

:'( Sengoku BASARA not even an option there. -mentions it in survey anyway-

I’d love to see more SFIII: 3rd Strike, AA, and Okami.

  • Muffum

I personally just want some more Power Stone love. When I first played Power Stone 2, I thought it like sex on a bun.

Except I was young and didn’t know about sex at the time, so there ya go.

  • Brimfyre

A lot of Power Stone questions on there. Guess that is a sign.

I was surprised that Project Justice/Rival Schools made the list, but they didn’t ask any follow up questions. I really wish they would bring back that franchise.

    • Kaihedgie

The Power Stone Collection is already on PSP…it’s not half as good as people were hyping it up to be

  • Tech Romancer. Oh god, let them please release a port or HD remake of Tech Romancer. It was such a great game and it deserves to make a second return as digital download. Seriously, the game is very loved amongst those who’ve played it.

    • LynxAmali

    • Göran Isacson

I am just here to let you know that you are a good person with good tastes in mecha fighting games. All of the upvotes.

      • Why thank you sir, I’m a very passionate men when it comes to standing up for amazing mecha games. If you’re interested, there’s an campaign going on to convince publishers to localize 2nd SRW OG for the PS3. Granted, it’s a SRPG but it’s full of hotblood. The movement is called Operation Hotblood, and we also raise awareness about other amazing mech games such as TECH ROMANCER!

        • Göran Isacson

Oooh, Super Robot Wars IS somewhat relevant to my interests as well. I admit that I would probably get a lliiiittle bit tired of seeing the same animations reused over and over again, but the story feel sufficiently interesting on it’s own that I’d probably like to play at least ONE of these games… even if it doesn’t have the characters from anime I know and love.

  • Chris Pearson

Power stone, breath of fire, and the mega man x series for sure

  • AkuLord3

Rival School, Breath of Fire, Megaman? ehhh sure i guess probably be a X6 all over but who knows ( guess Xover was the result to that…mmm not sure) Red Earth…RED EARTH and every good series u guys made that we want but too stupid to listen~

  • Ava1on

    Project X Zone

    • Kaihedgie

It’s not their game. Banpresto did that

    • Mantiskilla

That game was TERRIBLE! Still collects dust on my shelf

    • anthony apduhan

      Capcom… maybe… Namco… Harada still proposing… SEGA still problematic… Banpresto hmmm???

  • MikeTxn

Megaman, Rival Schools and Viewtiful Joe. Those are the ones I want.

  • SupaPhly

    Edgeworth Investigations 2

  • No Strider love? That’s one that I’d support the most.

    • MediaMindControl

Strider 2 is one of my favorite games in the entire PSX library. Stay true to that game but with the current gen’s engine and graphical capacity and you have got a solid game right there.

  • Machineguntommy

Wish it asked me Breath of Fire questions as it did Megaman and Ghouls N Ghosts…They didn’t ask *anything* about Breath of Fire despite it being an option as an interest.

  • TheRealMalek

    Breath of fire
    Demon’s crest
    Full Megaman X collection

And the last but not least MEGAMAN LEGEND 3 !!!

  • Kaihedgie

    I suppose a new Okami wouldn’t hurt

Buuuuut…it would really be nice of Capcom to bring the Gundam Vs games over here.

  • Eilanzer

    dino crisis…Breath of fire…Mega man…Rival schools…PLEASE!!!

  • Model_M

I want a retail Megaman game.

  • SirRichard

If you select Ghosts N Goblins as one of your favourites, the set of questions for it mentions a “HD Remix of Demon’s Crest/Gargoyle’s Quest”.

Don’t go playing with my heart like that, Capcom!

While there’s no guarantees, it’s nice that they;re asking and wanting to see what people want of their franchises. Now all we need is for their expectations to be realistic and for the sales to actually match should anything come of this.

    • TheRealMalek

i have been quite surprised by this one… i was dreaming for it but seeing it like that just make me hope…

    • Göran Isacson

Oh god, HD Remix of Gargoyles Quest. I. I don’t even know if I can handle knowing the mere POTENTIAL for that to exist.

      • Personally, I’d pick Demon’s Crest, but anything with Firebrand gets my seal of approval. Still surprised it wasn’t released as a Virtual Console game.

        • Göran Isacson

It wasn’t? I suppose it wasn’t a very big success if whoever makes the Virtual Console choices haven’t considered it yet… but darnit, it’s like an EEEVIL Super Metroid! How can one NOT want to publish a game like that?

          • Totally mystified. It’s not on JP VC either.

  • Sergio Briceño

Breath of Fire (just make it as if the last one never existed) and Mega Man X.

  • Vinny Dilallo

    Gotcha Force pls

    • Kyle Shannon-Dwyer

“I think we know how this is going to end…”

  • Raiyu

Battle Network HD Compilation, on 3DS and or PSN (PS3/Vita) with online multiplayer.

I just helped you make truckloads of money, you can put my check in the mail.

  • I suddenly wanna say MegaMan X4.

  • Neophoton

I’d love to see a BoF6, but I’m not gonna hold my breath for it.

    • Marcelo Gouvea

I see what you did there.

  • Tales_of_Master

    NEW HD Mega Man ?

NEW HD Mega Man Battle Network ???

Capcom don’t you dare play with my feelings >:( What makes me more hopeful is that not all franchises had the “NEW HD Game” option, so that means Capcom is specifically considering HD releases of these specific titles, which is defiantly promising. There are a lot of franchises I want to see revived, but by far MMX and MMBT are my top priority.

  • $24431191

Onimusha HD collection (specifically Dawn of Dreams). Either that or a brand new Onimusha game.

  • Ricardo Guedes

    breath of fire v!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Henshin-a-go-go, Baby!!! Viewtiful Joe needs a comeback!

S-E-Q-U-E-L!!! What’s that spell? My Money!! SEQUEL, SEQUEL, SEQUEL!!!

  • YourAshyAss_Elbows

I’d like to see a plethora of ports on these Handheld systems(Like one other user said;Breath of Fire). Let loose the cannon of ports, Capcom. Let loose the cannon!

  • pimpalicious

I would definitely love a new Mega Man, Breath of Fire, Strider, Demon’s Crest, or Onimusha(or an HD collection even for this one).

  • Demon´s Crest + 3DS .. that´s all ( Uhm and Megaman 8 *-* ! )

  • eilegz

    final fight IV
    New Onimusha
    New Breath of fire

    • MediaMindControl

I was looking through all the comments for exactly this! Although I felt Onimusha 4 was decent, the series has been gone for way too long! Definitely what I miss most from Capcom, along with GOOD sidescrollers like megaman and strider.

  • Welp I done my part on Mega Man, Onimusha and Power Stone on the extra questions. I clicked on Breath of Fire and Ace Attorney as well. On the selections I put El Durado Gate on other cause I kinda wanna see a complete collection with that.

    • Neophoton

Keep holding it for a few more years. Capcom might notice and giggle a little.

  • Brandonmkii

I pretty much said everything was my favorite. Sad there weren’t more Lost Planet questions, but the thought of new Megaman, and Street Fighter Alpha games made me weak in the knees. HD Power Stone? HD REmake? HD Outbreak with online play? A Resident Evil RPG? Take my money already, you glorious bastards.

    • vastreammonster

In an odd way that is a problem that Capcom has. They have so may good classics (Power stone, REmake, Street Fighter Alpha) and they only have but so much money to invest in.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Rival Schools,Strider. Gotcha Force and!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Megaman ZX

  • PreyMantis

I think we should all pick the less popular ones like Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, Project X Zone, EX Troopers, Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney, MEGAMAN LEGENDS 3(!!!!) to be available as digital.

    • Kyle Shannon-Dwyer

      And Gotcha Force? :D

      • PreyMantis

  • E15

Megaman Legends (and the 2nd) for download on PSN.
    :0 Plz and thank you.

    • Mega Man Legends actually has IP issues, which is why it isn’t up (and won’t be going up any time soon). More here:

      • Unfortunately, but if Capcom added them to the survey anyways maybe they are looking for ways to bypass this like release the games with new voices or attempt none at all (subtitles?).

      • #46

But the option was there though (they even had one for a compilation of 1 & 2)

  • So much yes! The survey doesn’t give much Breath of Fire love so be sure to make your voices heard in the comment sections!!!

  • ArmoredBoar

Gotcha Force on PS3/XBLA with the EXVS netcode and OPTIONAL new English dubbing.
Include the JP dialogue and keep the horrible original EN dub.

That alone, man. That would make me drop quite a few games for a couple of years.

  • Raze

    Megaman X and BoF series….

  • mpgeist

Well, I put in my two cents asking for a new, more survival horrory Resident Evil showing what happens to Rebecca and Billy. Also, more Megaman.

  • Pockystix

    More Megaman

    More Dragon’s Dogma

  • Göran Isacson

Welp, I’ve done my part and asked them for a new giant robot beat-em-up game. Now I can only hope that it can, in some small part, help affect their decisions…

  • z_merquise

    No love for 2D beat-em-ups?

I would really love to see Capcom made those again. Final Fight, Captain Commando, Battle Circuit. They also made fantastic licensed games in that genre like Alien vs Predator, Dungeons and Dragons, The Punisher, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs etc.

Also, I would really like to see a new Strider game developed by Capcom or to Platinum Games (wishful thinking) if they’re interested in just outsourcing it.

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

Dino Crisis on HD? I’d love that.

  • Nitraion

    I want to see…
-RE with outbreak style with network support…
-New Onimusha but please no reboot D: If you reboot it please stay original
-Breath of fire if capcom still intrested
    -Ex tropper Localization

  • z_merquise

I hope more people participate in the survey other than just post a comment here on what they like.

Not sure if that help Capcom release games that people would like to see but I wish it would.

  • -How about that unfinished Legends 3 demo? *Gets stoned*

  • Keyanf

I’m not so interested in ports of the classic series (own all the ones worth playing and then some), but Battle Network 2, 3 and 6 ports? I’d buy them simply for online netbattles alone.

  • dahuuuundge

and then they’ll say there aren’t enough fan inputs to warrant new Megaman games

  • Yuriangels

god!! please breath of fire. petty please with sugar on top Capcom!!!!

  • Theofratus ‘Geese’ Lester

    Dear Capcom,

Here are the games I want to see:

    Strider1&2 HD Remake
    Forgotten Worlds
    Legendary Wings
    King of Dragons
    Super Buster Bros.
A Makaimura (Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins) Collection
    Battle Circuit
    Aliens vs. Predator
    U.N. Squadron
    The Dungeons and Dragons beat-’em-ups
    GigaWing 1&2 HD
    Knights of the Round
    Warriors of Fate
    Mega Man: The Power Battle
Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters
    Street Fighter Alpha Collection
    Side Arms
    The 194X Series
    Captain Commando

    Thank you!

    The Straight-Edge Old-School Retro Gamer

    • You forgot mentioning Tech Romancer and Armored Warriors!

      • Theofratus ‘Geese’ Lester

        And Warriors of Fate…

  • Fango

The obvious answer is Breath of Fire.

  • MediaMindControl

    Auto Modellista anyone?

  • MediaMindControl

Written in the Megaman addition notes box at the bottom in the survey:

Megaman has been THE symbol of your company in my eyes. I grew up during an era where capcom’s name meant quality games and ended in an era where I had no idea if a game with Capcom was worth my time as a gamer. I am 26 soon, and aside from a few key titles like monster hunter and the basara series, I feel the massive upgrade in competition and saturation of the game market is getting to you. I understand it is difficult to feed all the fans of your many series’ but I genuinely appreciate the effort put into this survey and hopefully the hate towards capcom in many die hard fans will fade and capcom can return to it’s former glory.

  • Jeremy Barnes

    How about Megaman Legends 3…

  • Kuro Kairi

so.. what did you guy put in the ‘other’ box when checking game franchises?
I put Haunting ground… I was somehow struggling to remember other great franchises among the ones I seen, but this one I did remember.

  • I want MMBN series :)

  • Still Gaming

I want a digital release of Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations 2. You keep dangling carrots in front of us and then snatch it away. At least Namco is trying to be more vigilant at releasing more games from the “Tales” RPG series, while Capcom seems to be doing nothing but denying fans every single thing they’ve asked for. Cancelling Mega Man Legends 3 was the start of your downfall, and this is just one more straw that’s close to breaking the proverbial camel’s back.

If you think it’s too expensive to produce, then let someone else localize it, if you dare. You may be unwilling to take on the challenge, but NIS America, XSEED, and Atlus would likely think otherwise. This game deserves a release in the US in some form, even if it’s a digital release for the Wii and Wii-U. There’s only so many slaps in the face we can take from Capcom before the longtime loyalty from your fans becomes meaningless. Square-Enix has reached that point, and Capcom is dangerously close to joining them.
