Visit Real Life Japanese Stores To Bring Them Into Magician’s Quest: Town of Magic

Recommended Videos

Magician’s Quest: Town of Magic has an usual feature that may encourage people to take the game out into the real world—or vice-versa, perhaps.

Town of Magic lets you set up a large shopping mall within its town. You get to decide what stores, cafés and boutiques the mall is going to have, and you can set your own store up within the mall as well.

Konami have tied up with popular Japanese stores like Tsutaya, Aeon and First Kitchen as part of a “Real Shop Download Campaign”. By visiting participating stores in the real world, Magician’s Quest players will be able to obtain those stores within the game. Additionally, if you happen to visit stores on a specific day when they’re running a special campaign (like Aeon’s “Customer Appreciation Day”), those campaigns will be reflected within the in-game store, too.

Additionally, the Nintendo 3DS’ StreetPass function will allow other players’ stores to appear within your game as well. If you happen to pass by another 3DS owner who also has Magician’s Quest: Town of Magic, you’ll find their store popping up in your mall.

Mall feature aside, Magician’s Quest: Town of Magic has the same basic premise as its predecessors. You enroll in a magic academy, interact with your peers and live the lifestyle of a wizard/witch in training.

Magician’s Quest: Town of Magic was released this week in Japan.
