Wait… ffXI is still going on?
    O.o

Yup it’s SE’s most profitable FF title to date!

  • Visa Vang

    People still play this?! Legendary!!

I’d dare to say it’s the best MMO I’ve ever played (I still love Rift, TERA, GW2 and The Secret World though). It was the first MMO where I felt like I had to group with people to progress and the challenge and depth levels are extremely high.

Some people liked to call it off because it was an MMO but it’s as good as any other FF game out there. Also the 360 version received a poor reception as it haves the most ridiculously difficult achievements out there (20 30 GS achievements for maxing out each character to level 75. It’s absolutely mental), requires 8+ GB to install the game and haves fairly dated visuals (It looks great but it’s not a looker).

Actually you can get 75 in a few days now with Abyssea… those level 75 achievements are cake compared to what it was when the cap was 75. (Currently 99 is the cap.) You can get one job to 99 in less than a week.

yes, we still play it, now even more considering that a new expansion is coming out (WITH TWO NEW JOBS!!), can’t wait to try the rune edge (or something, forgot the name)

edit: after looking around, its called rune fencer, and an elemental swordsman @.@ do want

  • Hollowkoopa

    Umm thanks SE…….i guess.

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

Wait… so they are going to release another Ultimate Collection? Yes! A maid stole my ultimate collection of FFXI so it’s nice to know I can get it again.

  • Homero Alejandro Santiago Ruiz

Amazing, and even japan will have a PS2 version

I finished Abyssea as much as I cared for. Now this will bring me back again. xD (If I’m not playing A Realm Reborn when its released around the same time.) O_o

well on the bright side, FFXIV ARR won’t be out for a while, so you can play the new XI expansion, but on the bad side, well FFXIV ARR won’t be out for a while (ATM its still in Alpha)

  • puchinri

That’s interesting. Seeing the game again, I kind of want to play again (even though it’s been forever). Not sure if I could get any of my friends to join me though.

    • M’iau M’iaut

I spent plenty of time on that once, too. You still so need to look some of us up on twitter sometime. :P

      • puchinri

I was thinking that recently. I’m going to add that to my list right now so I don’t forget too. x’D

Easiest place to start is through Ishaan there on the ‘catch us on twitter’ — you’ll recognize the names.

Final Fantasy XI is a fine MMORPG, so it makes me wonder why they made XIV in the first place? IMO, they should’ve just continued developing XI and ported it to the PS3.

    • M’iau M’iaut

Especially considering both XII and XIV at points in their lives were supposedly XI-2.

      • http://twitter.com/VXLbeast VXLbeast

Really? That’s fascinating if it’s true.

    • http://www.twitch.tv/jpnags Jason Naglic

PS2 limitations! Yeah I think anybody that plays on PC would really like to see that.

  • komiko12

Considering it’s more than a decade old, it looks quite nice.
