Code of Princess Rated For Germany

By Ishaan . December 28, 2012 . 5:00pm

Heads up, Europe—it looks like Code of Princess is headed your way. The USK, Germany’s ratings board, have the game listed in their database (via: GoNintendo) with Agatsuma Entertainment associated with it as the publisher.

Code of Princess is a side-scrolling brawler developed by the same team that created Guardian Heroes. In North America, Code of Princess was published by Atlus USA. While the game hasn’t officially been announced for Europe yet, PAL land may just have something to look forward to in the future, judging by this rating.

A high-five to Siliconera reader, Jesus, for the heads up!

Agatsuma Entertainment are the developer in Japan so a digital download only then not perfect but I’ll take it.

We shouldn’t forget that lots of Atlus USA-published games have been rated by European boards such as USK and PEGI but ended up never being released in that market. Growlanser WoT and Gungnir are the most recent examples of this sad trend.

Then again, there are good reasons to be optimistic: this time the submitting company is Agatsuma, instead of IndexAtlus, the rating comes after the US releases (in the other cases it was in the same timeframe) and Code of Princess’ European release was rumored even before its US announcement, if I remember correctly. Chances are it will be an eShop release though, if Agatsuma isn’t able to secure a partnership with an European publisher.

Took their time, but at least we seem to be getting it. They said they wanted to bring it over a while back, here’s hoping an official announcement comes soon.

Don’t get too excited, don’t get too excited, don’t get too excited…

If the game happens to be released in PAL regions I would really prefer a physical version. eShop is better than nothing but still…I paradoxically have a tendacy to play my boxed games way more than the digital stuff (eShop + DsiWare) and I don’t want the physical PAL market to be lacking in niche games.

At least, it would not be not as absurd as Nano Assault which was made by a German developer but didn’t have any PAL physical version…
