Senran Kagura Burst To See Japanese Nintendo eShop Release

By Ishaan . December 30, 2012 . 10:30am

Senran Kagura producer, Kenichiro Takaki, hopes to bring the series to the west by localizing Senran Kagura Burst and releasing it as a Nintendo eShop download outside Japan. In order for that to happen, however, there needs to be an eShop version of the game in Japan in the first place.

That part just got taken care of. Senran Kagura Burst has a listing on the Japanese Nintendo eShop, and is slated for download release soon.

The download version of the game will be released in Japan on January 10th for 5,980 yen. Like the retail version, the download version also includes the original Senran Kagura: Portrait of Girls with new enhancements.

Meanwhile, on Twitter, Takaki tweeted in English this past week: “I’ll wrap the world in happy boobs next year.”

So in other words now that everything is in place this is going to have a western release? That is a thing of beauty people, even games that had no chance of being localized are going to be localized this man is my hero.

    • Leon_Tekashi

I agree, we need more people like him.

  • kylehyde

Now I know what is going to be one of my new year wishes.

  • malek86

Yes, this sounds like they are preparing for a western digital release. Good, good. Hopefully for Europe too.

  • Leon_Tekashi

Welp, lots of bodies will be ready, including mine with my new 3DS XL.

    • Nameless App 1989

If localized, “My body is ready” will have an 2nd definition. May wind up on Urban Dictionary, for all we know.

    • superzerogold

This article has certainly made my day! However, is your body ready for the Senran Kagura anime? The premiere in Japan is about a week from now!

      • Leon_Tekashi

Yup, when someone make the subtitles.

  • $29082171

    Got excited for a second.

Hopefully that about needing to get the e-shop version first in Japan is indeed the first step.

  • Mavalex

Wrap the world in happy boobs. BEST GOAL EVER

Look like next year will be the happiest year ever.

“I’ll wrap the world in happy boobs next year.”

I really like this guy and his tounge-in-cheek approach.

  • RoxasTheUnknown1

Western release please! Love this guys up front approach. No sugar coating.

I’m very glad to see some Japanese producers on the Nintendo systems still show us some love…my 3DS has been virtually neglected since I absolutely destroyed Devil Survivor:OC.

Very few games I want to own on the system, and it’s not import friendly…so yeah…the dust collects. Oh yeah, I did play Theatrhythms some, but meh…I’ve played much better hand-held rhythm games (see Project Diva f on PS Vita which IS import friendly). Gotta say, I’ve come to absolutely loathe Nintendo over the years since the Wii hit.

  • psycho_bandaid

Am I a bad person that I chuckled a bit when I read that Senran Kagura Burst is going to “release?”

  • http://simplephilistine.wordpress.com/ Arla

Nice to see vocal support from the man in charge in trying to get this localized, same of Harada pushing for Project X Zone. Worst case scenario we play this years laters as fan translations. 3DS homebrew is making progress.

  • TimeMaster

One step closer to glorious 3D mammaries in the west. Which means one step closer to Homura’s glorious 3D mammaries in the west.

  • 9thsage

I was thinking that about this game…it would probably be a lot more profitable as an eShop release than a retail game in the US. Hope it does come out here one day.

  • Crok425

This guy is awesome… I love him. HAPPY NEW BOOBS YEAR FOR EVERYONE!!!

  • Zonic505

Hopefully, by the sounds of it, the US shall be wrapped by those happy boobies soon enough.

& I continue to admire the producer’s honesty.

  • Spider-Man

I truly love this man. So much. Hope it gets localized.

that cant be the right price, if converted to dollars that would be 69.09 dollars. 69 dollars for a downloadble 3ds game?

    • http://twitter.com/nikochanr3 niko

No, that’s the price in Japan. It’s just a downloadable version of a retail game. If it’s in the US of course it will be cheaper, on par with US games.

    • Hinataharem

That’s japanese games for you. Dollar is weaker then yen. They have more expensive games. The EXACT reason why P4A was region locked.

  • benhofb

YES! I so cannot wait for a siliconera post saying, “Senran Kagura: Burst bashes its way on to North American eShop this summer”!

  • Hinataharem

    Captain Falcon: YES!!

  • Anesia Hunter

“I’ll wrap the world in happy boobs next year.” <– So, we're finally getting SKB?

  • gamefreak86

I love this guy. No homo. I’ll be waiting next year.

  • SDDMN

My hopes for this games heading overseas are raising quite a bit, even though there’s still a chance I’m setting myself up for disappointment. Hopefully I’ll be enjoying this game in 2013.

    • superzerogold

Don’t forget about the anime! January 6th is the premiere date in Japan. Hopefully that should keep you occupied until we get any news of western localization for the game.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

How does one buy from the JP eShop with an american card? Do I have to buy JP Nintendo points? Yes I have a JP 3DS but I’m not sure if the eShop has a card system like Sony does.
This would make importing extremely easier.

  • Shadowman

    This guy ROCKS!!! m/

  • Höhlenmensch

It’s a shame we can’t have a nice collector’s edition, but it’s not like we can afford to be picky.
