Capcom Arcade Cabinet Announced For Xbox Live And PlayStation Network

By Ishaan . January 8, 2013 . 9:17pm

Last month, a report revealed Capcom Arcade Cabinet, which sounded like a collection of Capcom games for Xbox Live Arcade. This week’s Famitsu magazine has confirmed that Capcom Arcade Cabinet is indeed headed to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, in celebration of the publisher’s 30th anniversary.

It sounds like Capcom Arcade Cabinet is some kind of an app through which you can download other Capcom arcade titles. Famitsu say that the Capcom Arcade Cabinet will be a free download, and that you’ll be able to play one of the games available through it for free.

These titles will be perfectly reproduced and will have online leaderboards, according to the report. They will also be made available in packs, and will reportedly be on the cheap side. More details will be announced on February 7th.

I hope I can play Black Tiger (or Dragon at least in Japan). I played it in one of Capcom’s arcade collections. It had infinite continues, but man was it brutal.

I believe theres an ios app thats sort of like this. you can play some of the arcade classics for a token and you get 3 tokens for free each day is kind of neat

    Sounds like Game Room.

    • Zonic505

Pretty much is, except just Capcom games. If the games are priced decently, then it sounds like it has potential.

  • Romangelo

Remaster Capcom vs. SNK series and Street Fighter Alpha series, please.

  • TrevHead

I hope the have some form of overall lobby system for multiplayer (if there is MP) single retro games with seperate lobbys just means dead MP

  • OverlordZetta

    Might be cool.

  • Theofratus ‘Geese’ Lester

Let me have my Forgotten Worlds, Section-Z, and the first Strider.and then you can have my money.

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

A Capcom themed Game Room? Count me in.

  • Raoni Marques

Too bad we probably won’t be able to play great CPS and CPS 2 classics like Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Aliens vs Predators and both D&D games due to licensing problems. I hope we get at least some other great beat em ups like Battle Circuit. And I REALLY hope we get Red Earth, cuz it’s a game I barely played and it seemed really interesting.
