Here’s Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory’s CPU Transformations And Battles

By Ishaan . January 16, 2013 . 8:17pm

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is out in March, and NIS America shared two videos of the game this evening, showing off general battles and CPU form footage, which demonstrates special attacks. You can take at the first video above and the second one below it.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is slated for release on March 12th in North America and March 15th in Europe. The third game takes place in a dimension that looks like a Gameindustri of the ‘80s, which has enemies called the Seven Sages. And yes, Mega Man creator, Keiji Inafune, is back with more cameos.

I like how Inafune Sword V is clearly visible in Neptune’s attack list in the second video, but isn’t used. XD

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

Man, that buttery smooth frame rate. Have CH finally done it? A completely smooth game?

    • Brion Valkerion

      I super doubt it haha.

    • DesmaX

Yeah. And look at those graphics… It looks like a PS3 game now

    • zazza345

Nope, the game still has frame issues, though less than mk2.

    • Luna Kazemaru

      nope not really

      • DesmaX

… oh. It’s just some lag issues sometimes, or it’s as bad as Mugen Souls?

        • haisihwait

I say the lag in Mugen Souls is a bit worse than Neptunia mk2.

So if this is better than Mk2, then it must only lag rarely.

        • Luna Kazemaru

lag and framerate but not like mugen souls

  • DesmaX

… The second video made me question the necessity of screaming the name of your attack.

  • brian yep

Does anyone else think that voice acting in the second video was bad?

    • ElRobotico

Not only in the second video.

    • Luna Kazemaru

So i take it you thought the acting was bad in the last ones?its the same actors.

    • $24431191

They’re both atrocious. I don’t mean any offense to anyone who likes them either. Just stating my opinion.

      • Luna Kazemaru

I was going to post in snark but I’m not and just going to ask How.

        • $24431191

How what? I just don’t think they sound good in my opinion.

    • Barrit

I didn’t like either one. 3 of them sound almost the same. I remember them having more distinct voices in the JP dub. I have to side what someone else said in a different comment that “moe doesn’t really work in English”. In JP, some of the characters sound cute, where as in English they sound like they are *trying* to sound cute. (if that makes sense). Also, I noticed in English dubs, females tend to sound kinda ‘bratty’, which doesn’t quite fit their personalities.

As much as I’m looking forward to this, the music turns me off since the first damn game. It honestly can’t be so hard to make some decent tunes..it’s just so absolutely unspecial, unemotional and outright sleep inducing. Luckily I love everything else in this game.

    • DesmaX

They called Nobuo Uematsu and Kenji Ito to make some tunes for the game. There good stuff in this, like:

      • https://twitter.com/RaiohV Raioh

That one’s fine, but the song that plays in the two videos above is the same as the first two games just remixed 300 times and still very bad. And even with that one, the soundtrack is just not something you’ll remember after beating the game, which makes me sad as music is a very important part of my gaming experience.

        • DesmaX

They’re not the same song, truth be told.

          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSc0iNJfLOQ

          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoyYM0qZJrI

(And I’m pretty sure they don’t sound anything like the songs in other games)

          • https://twitter.com/RaiohV Raioh

Obviously they’re not the same song, but they are similar, quite a bit. While the theme is different, you can hear the main tone in both tracks, and yes that same tone was in many other battle songs from 1 and mk2.

          • DesmaX

            If you say so…

But I do think there’s some fine tracks in this game (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6M217nwoa8 is my personal favorite), but I guess it’s just me

          • https://twitter.com/RaiohV Raioh

That one’s good~ But apparently it’ll appear very late ingame xD

          • DesmaX

The best boss themes are always at the end of the game, aren’t they?

          • DesmaX

            http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UaQHEeUl23g

Never mind, I take it back.
            This is the best one

  • $24431191

This is why dual audio was created. I’m really glad NISA includes it in all of the games they localize.

    • Xerain

Well because of Atelier Ayesha you have to correct your statement to publish. They’re localizing it but not publishing it, and its not dual audio.

      • $24431191

        True enough.

      • xXDGFXx

        So… Japanese track…. ?

        • Alexander Marquis Starkey

          No, English Dub.

          • xXDGFXx

            This is terrible news…

    • artemisthemp

Happy NISA included JP audio in HDN V else I would cry

  • Randy Marsh

All I can say about the dub is that Plutia’s voice sounds less painful in English.

    • zazza345

I really don’t get the hate for Pururut’s Japanese voice though. I think she sounds fine.

      • Randy Marsh

Well for me, I just hated how she sounds like she’s moaning everything she says. Hating women moan, I know I must sound insane.

  • Eric Harris

I’m getting kind of tired of Neptunia. I loved the first, but after MK2, Mugen Souls, Nep V it’s all games built around simular engine and it’s just getting kinda old. I’m way more looking forward to Ni no Kuni and Tales of Xillia.

    • Stranger On The Road

interesting, what does the fact that games share a similar engine -or better, the same engine- have to do with whether a gamer would like them or not?

Each game bring its own world and own story with it, what is wrong with their graphics looking as good as an anime? On the contrary to your argument, I like this similar engine; and I wonder if the next generation of consoles will give me 3D graphics closer to what we saw in Love Live 5th single, Wonderful Rush; but in real time!

Ever heard of the Epic game engine? Do you dislike all of the games that made use of it?

Note, I’m only replying to the ‘engine’ bit of you post, I’m not ignoring the rest, I just have no comment on that.

  • gamefreak86

    Got it preordered. looking sweet.

  • IshimaruKaito

i dont remember blanc’s voice being so soft

  • SpecDotSign

Man this game looks last gen. And am I the only one who noticed the Final Fantasy fanfare theme being hummed in the first video after Neptune leveled up? O.o

    • DesmaX

      That was in mk2 too

  • http://www.facebook.com/randy.e.stewart Randy E. Stewart

    This game looks sweet

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Had this pre-ordered since day 1. Can’t wait for this! =^_^=

  • Neppygear

I think Neptunia’s dubbing is usually really good, but Plutia’s voice acting is just… no.

  • Thomas Clemons

Do you need to have played the other games to understand this one? Never played this series

    • RoxasTheUnknown1

It helps too have played mk2 before V to be familiar but you dont need too as V has a massive recap of mk2. And mk2 and V are not connected too the original game.

      • DriftSlave

Actually Nep1 to mk.2 just got a overdose of reboot syndrome, the events of the first game did happen….just that Complie Heart hasn’t given us a clear How yet(Anime looks like the reboot). Hell Mk.2 makes note of Celesita and thats something only in the first game.

Its Ironic you say that too because NepV is actually closer to Nep1 then mk.2(ignoring the overall gameplay mechanics). Not to mention the return of moving artwork for skits(which are back to being nep1 long and having the ability to replay them) and well Arfoire looking like Arfoire again. Think of things in the Nep series as a constant work in progress up until NepV. I believe the current CPU(Current GameIndustri) forms are also Reboots since the anime seems to go off these designs.

  • ivanchu77

No wonder people prefer japanese voices

  • RoxasTheUnknown1

Yay eng cast how I miss thee! Nep~<3. Hmm sounds like they had Melissa change it up a bit as Purple Heart though. Still sounds good.

  • Kai2591

Moe does not work in English.

    • RoxasTheUnknown1

It does for me. This series cast in jp just doesnt do it for me. I absolutely cant stand Rie Tanakas performance as Neptune. Its just bad too me. The FF fanfare. Horrible in jp. Yet here its like it should be.

      • Kai2591

I see…Perhaps I should have written ‘does not work in English for me’.
To each their own, and I respect your personal preference ;)

        • RoxasTheUnknown1

True. Im not against people having preferences. Its just how they present it. I actually like Jp Pururut. Vert, Blanc, and Histy. I love their english counterparts though and dont ever want a jp dubbed only Nep game. I’d rather they just keep dual and every one stay happy. xD

          • Leon_Tekashi

Yup, to tell you the truth, dual audio = both sides are happy.

  • http://twitter.com/Zepht Z

I want teen Compa, please :D

  • Hoshi星

    Iris Heart’s voice isn’t sadistic enough :(
