Pre-ordering Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance from Amazon in North America will get you an “Inferno armour” skin for Raiden, which will yield an increase in the maximum amount of throwing weapons (such as grenades) in his inventory. Take a look at the red-coloured armour below:

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released in North America on February 19th and in Europe on February 21st. U.K will get the game on February 22nd.

That demo was way more fun than I expected it to be.
    Even though I broke it.

    Four times.

  • Yatol Charles

so basicaly its a red version of the default amor..

    • Ferrick

      with 4 additional nade slots

I already got this pre-ordered. Cannot wait for more Platinum goodness.

  • Syltique

That’s possibly the most underwhelming pre-order bonus of all time.

I wish my pants had inferno pockets though.

try putting burning coal in you pant , and whoola , you have yourself a inferno armor pant with maximum defend point .

  • Göran Isacson

Never really experimented much with grenades during the demo- never really felt like I had need for it, or for the rocket launcher. Anyone out there who played it who can tell me if there’s some quirk to the grenades/rocket launcher beyond just being a mean to damage the enemies from far away?

    • Ferrick

just a mean to damage armored enemies other than using the sword

      • Göran Isacson

Ah. Kinda dissapointing, if that turns out to be the case. Was expecting something more out of Platinum than just “bonuses” that essentially do what the sword does, only slower.

        • Ferrick

well the only good thing about them from what i see is that it can attack from the distance (RPG snipe ftw >=P ), but yeah, the sword is your best friend throughout the whole game (till you get other weapons from other bosses)

    • Matheus Mendes

I found the grenades to be very impratical, i couldn’t hit a single enemy with it, but the Rocket Launcher is quite useful

      • Göran Isacson

Oh? How so- does it do enough damage on it’s own that it can be considered an alternative to the sword, or is it more like a supplement?

        • Ferrick

it does around 10-15% to the wolf miniboss, so its not that bad (but its kinda bad if you’re doing an S rank run, because you pretty much stop whatever you’re doing to throw the grenade, and it takes a while to explode, meaning you need to keep the enemy there or else it will miss completely

        • Matheus Mendes

Yeah, it can be considered an alternative for the sword(it could, if it weren’t for the fact that there aren’t much of them) , i use a lot on Gekkos, but like a seid, it’s very useful, it’s easy to hit and it does high damage, best weapon against Gekkos

Still deciding if I should keep my Lava lamp pre-order, it’s pretty big like around 13 inches tall.. but I want to get the Jpn LE for the steelbook, soundtrack, mini-Gekko, & Shinkawa artbook (only thing missing in the US ver). Best Buy is giving $20 credit though as w/ their many pre-orders.. should have the Jpn audio track as DLC… Vanquish and Anarchy had them, but MGS games traditionally don’t have dual, was hoping Rising by Platinum would, so don’t need to buy both ver :(…

    • Ferrick

according to others, its 14 inches, and we pretty much got the most costly prize out of everyone else =/, in JP, they got the mini-gekko, and in UK, they got the Limited Edition white armored Raiden play-arts figure (which you know on how expensive they will be because of the LE tag and play-arts label)

      • Aoshi00

The white Raiden figure is cool, but I mainly don’t want to miss out on the steelbook (I collect a lot of them for blu-rays) and the artbook, wonder how many pages are there and how many pics illustrated by Shinkawa and Platinum artists respectively..

Actually sounds like a big lamp, at first I was worried it would be a tiny thing like the size of a USB drive.. I’m just wondering if this would be ultra rare right after release or would have huge price drop like w/ many other LEs.. I wish they would show a video of the lamp to give us a better look..

        • Ferrick

i think our LE would drop in price, because its just a lamp =/ (and play-arts are still expensive most of the time)

and yeah i do hope they do that too, because to date, i’ve never seen any vids regarding the LE other than slideshows about it

and we do get the steelbook, which is a nice addition for me

    • Sephyclone

If you order with Gamestop you get an artbook along with your order. Dont know if its the same as the Jpn one though. And the US comes with a steelbook too but nowhere near as cool as Japans.. :/

  • ZEROthefirst

I’ll stick with Gamestop’s Gray Fox DLC outfit. One because red Raiden isn’t very special and 2… Fucking Gray Fox!!!

  • Valtiel Ikari

is it me or the scenario looks improved in quality comepered to the last videos?

Pre-ordered my LE ages ago, can’t wait for the katana lamp!

  • revenent hell

This kind of bonus realy is not one for me. Im not a big DLC “costume” person for games,I can quite honestly say ive not ever looked at a costume DLC and thought “I NEED that!”,so thats probably why im not a fan of this as a bonus type.

Normally im that way about the weapons as well since I have found the truelly good end game type weapons are always paid for DLC,it just makes me think “Why wasnt this given as my bonus?”,even though a lot of DLC weapons themselves arent super great beyond a certain point in most games, and I know godly weapons would be game breaking but it would be nice to get a weapon/armor type with stats that scaled with your level or something like that to be pretty epic by the ending. These types of bonuses realy dont have much use normally beyond the very begining of the game and it seems like such a waste of calling something a “bonus” to me.

I think the best DLC type bonus for getting a new copy of a game was Alice Madness Returns, they actually gave the first Alice game for free for that and I think thats pretty cool and I think Dragon Age II had a good idea of a shop, wich gave you some free stuff in it as well.

A good DLC type bonus to me should be something that can be used threw out the game because then it actually feels like a bonus.
In particular I cant see this armor being very valid to a player unless they just plan to throw stuff for most of the game wich I think would be mostly boring since the fighting,to me,is the greatest aspect of this game.

    • Ferrick

from what i heard, the gamestop preorder bonus (which you get free in UK in every edition from every retailers… lucky…), gives you the gray fox skin and the gray fox sword, which is basically the HF blade (the default sword) but has the chance of cutting an enemy in half through normal combo
