Huzzah to Aksys for bring this over! Cannot wait to play this, especially since I never finished the Wii version.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

    Aww yisss

  • XYZ_JolteonZ980

DUDE! DAY 1 BABY DAY 1, I have been waiting liek so long to play this game. Vita is really getting the hottest games this year! It will join the ranks of Persona 4 and Disgaea 3 on my vita.

  • I need to find their website and shout directly into their ear. They need to do a better job with this glorious title than Ignition did. I expect a genuine translation this time, one which will be worth the money and do justice to Vanillaware’s magnificent title.

    • Kevin Tan

I too hope the translation will be a lot more accurate this time around. The Wii version translation was almost enough to do the game a disservice. :(

      • Locklear93

So, I don’t speak Japanese at all. Unless I hear a specific phrase I recognize, or things just don’t make sense, I have a difficult time making out a bad translation. Is the badness of Muramasa’s translation documented anywhere? Like, a list of “this was NOT what so and so said at all,” type stuff? I’m very curious.

    • We will be using our own, new, translation/localization.

      • That is supremely excellent news. I have sincere hopes for the quality of this release. Past transgressions aside, Vanillaware deserves nothing but your very best.

  • MrTyrant

God bless Aksys. Vita users need more games

  • Randgriz

This annoucement coupled with SoulSac – arww yeah boom jiggy boom boom

  • Syltique

yesssssssssss, but honestly they need to rethink their DLC policy with this game. That will make people want to wait to buy it. Especially if they’ve already purchased it.

  • James Franzen

Hoping this gets a physical release.

  • z_merquise

So happy for this. I’m surely going to get this even if I already had the Wii version.
I personally preferred playing this in a portable console so it’s a good thing they made this for Vita.

  • PersonaBull

Very happy to see this coming over! I was worried enough that I actually preordered the Japanese version (yesterday, even…sigh~). Not gonna cancel it, though, for a couple reasons (that may change depending on what Aksys plans for its localization). Definitely glad I’ll be able to check out the DLC without it being a gigantic hassle switching profiles!

    • Not sure what you mean by “what Aksys plans for its localization,” but we ARE going to be re-localizing the entire script.

      • fds_nextdart

        You preordered my money~.

      • PersonaBull

It was that and the release window (just how close to March 28th will it be?), really, haha. Luckily, I’ve got it in my budget to double-dip regardless, so no worries! I’m definitely sold on the Aksys localized copy~<3 I'll always support Vanillaware titles (Odin Sphere is one of my most favorite games). Definitely a day 1 purchase (as well as DLC, which I'm happy to see is also being done).

        • Not sure where you got the March 28th date, but we haven’t announced a release date yet. You might want to follow our Facebook page: I’m sure we’ll announce the date there when we have one.

Glad to see you’re looking forward to it, though. :) Corporate loyalties aside, Muramasa is one of the games I bought a Vita for.

          • PersonaBull

March 28th is the Japanese release date (from what I’ve seen, now I need to double-check haha)

          • Ah, okay, makes sense. Unfortunately no, that’s not going to be our release date.

          • PersonaBull

Haha, that’s a good thing for me! I’ll have time to play through and move on from the Japanese version as planned before coming back and playing the localized version, in that case :P Take as much time as you guys need! I’m sure you’ll do great~<3

  • AlteisenX

Yay! Now just tell me I can change the jump button >.<.

    • Syltique

    • Safros9

“The game will feature a seperate “jump” button, unlike the Wii version, which used “up” on the D-Pad or analog for jumping.”
You might have already seen this, but just in case…

    • AlteisenX

Ask and you shall receive as they say…

  • Andrew A

    Digital only release?

  • fuck yea, this looks awesome on Vita’s screen. additionally it means I can experience all the DLC without any issues. Good time to b a Vita owner

  • noctis_nox

Soul Sacrifice and now this!! Vita announcement is on the roll.

  • Locklear93

Super glad to hear this. Muramasa is the only Wii game I ever really liked. Now I might actually play it.

  • Laith Rem

    Aksys I love you <3

  • AkuLord3

WELL looks like i’ll be getting a Vita more soon than before

  • NoctisCrystallisXV

YAY This is coming to the West thanks Aksys!

  • fds_nextdart

Great news, Aksys and XSEED are awesome~.

  • Thank you, based Aksys!

  • I really wish they’d release this or the original on PC. Then I would throw at them.

  • And that’s two games i’ll be skipping on NA release, thank you SONY account locking.

    • raymk

So I take it you don’t stay in the U.S?

  • Onizuka Gio Hikari

You don’t know how happy I am to hear this!!!!!!!!!! I been having a horrible day…and this just made me so happy ^-^ now i can finally cheer up and start planning for a vita!!!!!!! ONE OF MY FAVE GAMES THAT I CAN TAKE ANYWHERE?!?!?!??!?! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEESSS!!!

  • SirRichard

  • IsaacGravity

Well played, Aksys. I’m happy we’re getting this all the same~

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

    The JRPG Gods strike again!

  • TheExile285

I love you Aksys! You can count on my day one purchase!

Now, can we please have a Vita version of BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma? Extend was oh so good.

  • All of my joy and love and money!!

  • EtherealEarth

Yet again, Aksys is here to save the day!

  • FeaturePreacher

This will be the third vita game I’ll buy this year after ninja Gaiden sigma 2 plus and DOA5. Just need killzone mercenaries after muramasa

  • RovCal

I have been a siliconera reader for some time now….. but after reading this news….. i screamed in joy… i cant tell you how much happy i am… i dont have words to express my joy or the respect that i am feeling for Aksys.

  • S- Class Wizard KaRamo

    thank you soo much

  • Any news on EU? Either way, i just did a beyond girlish scream.

  • I think it is weird Aksys is bringing it over while Marvelous AQL is doing it in Japan. Marvelous AQL owns Xseed a localization company.

  • I read it on ANN, Arkys Games will do a retranslation of the Vita version of Muramasa and not using XSEED game translation.

  • Christopher Nunes

Aksys… you truly are the best niche company around. :’)
If you can even localize Fate/Extra CCC somehow I will forever love you guys.
