The Pokémon Company have released a Pokémon TV app for iOS and Android devices, that lets users watch a weekly rotation of Pokémon anime episodes. The app is free and is available for download now.

The Pokémon TV app will rotate 50 episodes weekly, and will provide access to over 700 episodes from seasons 1 through 15 of the Pokémon anime. Standard data charges for your device will apply, but the content itself will be provided completely free of charge “without logging in or signing up for anything,” a representative confirmed to Siliconera.

Pokémon movies will be made available through the app as well. Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice will be available Feb. 15th – 18th. Additionally, the Meloetta’s Moonlight Serenade will be available for viewing starting Feb. 15th as well.

I think this is a pretty neat app, now you can watch pretty much all of the episodes on the go!

  • kupomogli

Pretty good app. 50 episodes a week is good, as long as you like Pokemon. Maybe it’ll come to the 3DS or the Vita. Kidding about the Vita :P.

o lord, time to relive my childhood (dropped the Pokemon anime after the Johto arc (since the Hoenn arc never made it to my country… times to rectify this now)

    • James M Wallace

I dropped the Pokemon anime series after Pokemon Advanced. The first series and Johto were actually good.

      • Renaldi Saputra

well, for me they’re already the same.. the just repeat what they did and also repeat mistakes and stalling time.. just watched all the last episode, and all of the previous episodes will be revealed.. and you know what will happen..

    • Renaldi Saputra

who can stay watching endless 700++ episodes while we’re already know what will happen?

  • Göran Isacson

… huh. Wonder if they will have dubs in local languages, or if it will be the English version or bust. At any rate, have to admit I’m… kinda interested in this.

    3DS version next?

  • I quit as soon as Bye-Bye Butterfree comes on

    I never got over it

  • Ricardo C

Wasn’t there a 3DS version of this? Or was that different than this?

    • AuraGuyChris

Only if you are in McDonalds and use the Nintendo Zone.

Best Seasons are both Johto and Sinnoh.

Kanto was pretty much an average season with believable turns, save for the many generous Gym Leaders that gave their badges to Ash without much of a battle going on.

Worst Seasons are both Hoenn and Unova for how insulting Ash’s defeats were handled there it falls in character derailment.

    • Renaldi Saputra

      I think all is worse

They’re never going to just release boxsets of these, are they? Guess I better get a tablet/better phone, then.

    • Ricardo C

They kinda did but in volumes of seasons. Even Digimon and Power Rangers (yes even MMPR) got a DVD boxset release recently.

      • SirRichard

Not over here, they didn’t, but I guess it’s nice that they’re getting released over there. Maybe eventually someone will pick them up for the UK/Europe.

    • LynxAmali

I don’t recall them ever releasing complete seasons. Rather, it was just a few select episodes here and there.

  • Solomon_Kano

Mm… I really just wanna watch Johto and the Orange Islands again, but if they’ll be putting up movies and shorts periodically as well, that’s awesome.

  • cant get it from my country’s app store =(

  • Renaldi Saputra

well, instead of watching the endless 700++ episodes, rather be able for watching movie.. its anime series wasn’t a canon and not worth it at all
