Blizzcon Returns In November 2013

By Ishaan . February 19, 2013 . 9:30am

After taking a year off, Blizzard have dated their next Blizzcon convention. Blizzcon 2013 will be held on November 8th and November 9th at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

As per usual, the convention will feature hands-on time with Blizzard’s upcoming games, in-depth discussion panels of the same, and tournaments for attendees.

Ticket prices and dates have not yet been announced. Blizzard haven’t announced what games they will be showing at the event either.

Wonder if they will do something with Diablo 3, or focus all attention on WoW and the next Starcraft. Because it sure has been quiet around Diablo 3 ever since it got out…

WoW and Starcraft will surely get some attention, especially WoW if there’s a new expansion in the works once again. But Diablo 3 as well will get part of the spotlight I’m sure of. People have been disappointed about the game since it’s release but I’ve had tons and tons of insight on the Diablo 3 development since release, and I just can’t agree on you that it’s been quit around the game at all. I think it’s more a question of to look at the complaints or the posts from the development team etc.

I’m really curious in what way they will take the next expansion, the patches sure have made the game go into the right direction ,even though there still are more to do of course.

And it’s nice with a new Blizzcon event as well. :)

When I say quiet, I mostly mean in the games media. Magazines, blogs, sites, nobody seems to be writing anything about Diablo 3 except for that whole hullaballoo regarding the auction houses and the glitches. But no news of recordbreaking numbers, or great scandals (since launch anyway) or high sales, catastrophically low sales, insights into what happened during development… I mean sure, you can say that the FORUMS haven’t been quiet and all, but they’re forums: talk is what they’re for.

So in the end, I guess that saying “it’s been quiet around Diablo 3″ mostly depends on your perspective. I’m sure there’s a community and that it’s fairly decent, but I’m just not seeing the game paraded around in the big news outlets like the other big two usually are, you know? I didn’t even know there WERE patches, that’s how little this game has figured in the big news outlets.

The Diablo 3 forums are anything but quiet, trust me. Kind of wish they were…

can’t wait for a decent sc2 finals at blizzcon unlike that mess that happened in china last year.
