imageCD Projekt RED confirmed another PlayStation 4 title. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available for PS4 when the game comes out in 2014.

"It’s a real pleasure to cooperate with Sony. Combining CD Projekt RED’s unique artistic vision and tech with the capabilities of PlayStation 4 will make The Witcher 3 a truly next-gen RPG. With Sony’s new hardware and our new engine, there are no limits to what we can create in the process of realizing our vision for Geralt’s dark fantasy world," said Adam Kiciński, CEO of CD Projekt SA, in a press release.

CD Projekt RED also confirmed The Witcher 3 will be available on other platforms too.

"The Witcher 3 will be released in 2014 simultaneously on all high-end platforms available," studio head Adam Badowski said. "We know that our fans are looking forward to that date already, but we want to make it clear that this story is a standalone, and we will be sure introduce newcomers fully to the world so that they don’t miss a beat. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will start with an breathtaking opening, which will give many insights to the lore. The game design will allow smooth introduction to new characters and encourage players to discover the vast, living open world of this installment of Geralt’s tale."

This could be my first Witcher game.I hope the controls and combat are better than those of Skyrim’s.

It isn’t hard to get better controls and combat than The Elder Scrolls, so you’re in luck!

      • Not only that, but whatever you play The Withcer series on, it always stays a unique and good experience. I’m pretty sure you’ll have better luck with the series if you find Skyrim lacking in any aspect (especially controls and combat). But don’t expect that much freedom and be prepeared that Geralt (the main character) is a major badass.

I really wanted to like Skyrim because the world itself was incredible. But coming to play it after i played Dragon’s Dogma the controls and combat felt terrible.

after playing Dragon’s Dogma, I really hope that Deep Down (the trailer they showed from Capcom) is Dragon’s Dogma 2 lol

Sony’s getting their sh*t together with the 3rd party

and it’ll be really interesting to see what the result is~

    • Getting 3rd parties on Playstation home consoles hasn’t been a problem for Sony in over a decade. It’s getting people (even their own subsidiaries!) to develop for their portables that they can’t seem to get right.

      • While Nintendo suffers the exact opposite XD

I thought they have 3rd party support in JPN, the only place where handhelds really seem to matter much.

        • Yeah, the PSP has had plenty of 3rd party support, but it was thanks to Capcom, really. Even then, it took years for the PSP to gain good 3rd part support.

Nice to see this coming. Though I wonder why they say High-end platforms, is Wii U considered High-end by them or current-end like other publishers…
