Rainbow Moon developer, SideQuest Studios , are working on their next RPG—Rainbow Skies. The game is early in development and is planned for release in late 2014 for consoles and handhelds. Here’s what publisher, eastasiasoft, say are the features you can expect to see in the game:

  • Monsters can be caught, upgraded, and become part of your party
  • Advanced battle system with new combo attacks
  • New treasure-hunt quests and an improved side quest system
  • Various buildings can be entered and explored
  • A lot of “new and exciting dungeon elements”
  • New mini games

Note that the screenshots displayed in this report are from an early, in-progress build of the game.

Yes! Yesyesyesyesyes. PS3, PS4, Vita, whatever – I’m in DAY ONE.

  • MikeTxn

Never heard of this game. But it has monster-capturing mechanics, meaning I’ll probably get it.

    • You can try out the demo of Rainbow Moon if you like, it’s available on PSN.

      • MikeTxn

Damn, it’s PS3 only. Guess I’ll just wait for the Vita version.

        • The Vita version is coming later this year. Should get a demo, too.

Oh thank goodness, cant wait for the vita version of both games.

    Yes! YES! OMG, YES!

Please please get a new better artist to do character art and I will buy the crap out of this game. The character portraits were the only thing that prevented me from buying RM. They were just really really bad. Even though the gameplay in the demo felt great.

    • We’ll have a new character artist for Rainbow Skies but ultimately it will be a question of taste. We will be releasing some character art in the future.

Wow that sounds like really good news. Looking forward to it. I wish you guys the best of luck. You’re doing something truly unique in the console indie space and I hope the community supports that by buying your product.
