Mighty Switch Force 2 Speeding To Nintendo 3DS eShop

By Ishaan . February 25, 2013 . 2:00pm

Mighty Switch Force 2 is in development for the Nintendo 3DS eShop, WayForward confirmed recently to Destructoid. The game will once again star Patricia Wagon as the character you play as, and is planned for release in Q1 or Q2 of this year.

In addition to Mighty Switch Force 2, WayForward are working on another Nintendo 3DS game as well—Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, a game with a Metroid-esque map design, featuring interconnected areas and power-ups.

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse is relatively early in development and doesn’t have a release window yet. Last year, WayForward CEO, John Beck, stated that the eShop would be a major part of WayForward’s strategy for portable games.

Awesome! I’ll be looking forward to the sequel once it comes out since I liked the first game.

YES! Man, I was not expecting this. I *loved* the first game; it was one of the best 2D platformers I’ve played in a while (though also one of the shortest). Add to that a new Shantae… WayForward, you sure know how to please me.

Day one, if only for the amazing soundtrack.

God Bless you Siliconera for not using the term Metroidvania.

    • I firmly believe there is no such thing.
