Kratos Doesn’t Seem Quite As Angry In God of War: Ascension

By Ishaan . February 26, 2013 . 9:30am

Sony have shared a new trailer for God of War: Ascension, slated for release this March on the PlayStation 3. The trailer shows off a few scenes from the game’s single-player story mode, but God of War: Ascension also has a multiplayer mode, which is a first for the series.

God of War: Ascension will be released on March 12th in North America and March 13th in Europe. A single-player demo will be made available for the game this week in both regions.

Can’t wait to play the demo.

Demo’s looking to be good. I couldn’t get the multiplayer beta to ever actually load, so hopefully this one won’t have issues.

Looks great! Less RAGE and Kratos seems actually appealing as a character! I’m liking how this game (‘s single player) looks so far. God of War 1-3 had a very distinct look to them, with a lot of dark set pieces and plenty of kinda “golden locations”, but this one seems to finally give the game a change of scenery! Loved how that big demon looking (God?) thing looked near the end! I may get this when I get a little more expendable cash!

However, cant WAIT for the demo when it hits later today! Though I wont get to play it until probably tomorrow evening :(

But unfortunately next month’s already pretty loaded with Tomb Raider, Atelier Ayesha, Naruto UNS3, and Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory! Maybe in April, as I dont think any big releases are happening there anymore (DARN YOU NAUGHTY DOG for delaying the Last of us! Well, as long as it makes for a better game :D )

Of course Kratos isn’t as angry as we’ve come to know him

He has yet to be abandoned by the gods, forced to to be separated from his daughter in Elysium, get screwed over by the titans, found out that his brother was taken prisoner by the very gods he fought for, and forced to kill his mother.

    • It always boggles me why people resent the fact that Kratos is always angry and always seeking revenge when all of his actions are justified from Day 1. We’re only lucky to have a game that takes place in a time when Kratos is a little more appealing, but it’s still just a prequel.

My most anticipated console game of 2013 so far.

I do wonder who the black God with yellow splotches on his chest is supposed to be… and why Kratos looks chalky white when he still has his family. That aside it is nice that there seems to be actual dialogues this time around- we’ll just have to see how long they last.
