Summon Night 5’s First Trailer Shows Off Animated Portraits And Characters

Namco Bandai have shared a trailer for Summon Night 5, slated for release this May in Japan. The trailer introduces the game’s main cast of characters and gives a look at both in-game and cutscene footage. Watch it below:

Summon Night 5 takes place in the world in Linbaum, and the heroes are summoners who fight alongside “Cross” partners. The game uses animated 2D portraits during conversations, with blinking eyes and moving mouths, which Namco have dubbed “live 2D”. For battles, the game uses 3D models.

 

Summon Night 5 will be released on May 16th in Japan for the PSP.
