I wasn’t sure about this, but I’m liking the variety of locations on display. Will get for PS4.

  • SirRichard

There’s promising stuff in it, even if it is just a CGI trailer to build hype. Dual-wielding swords and guns, a variety of locales, assassinations and so on. But I’m going to hold off until we actually see it in action, if it’s too much like III I’m going to pass.

  • Spirate

Assassin’s Creed III left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth; Liberation was overall a much better game and had a much better main character.

Hopefully if they iron all of the kinks out, it may fill the void that Disney Interactive created when the cancelled Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned (at least to me).

  • Ethan_Twain

This is cool! The sailing stuff in the previous Assassin’s Creed was great, and if the urban areas of the game are all different ports around the seas then this game could recapture the diversity of exotic locales that defined the first two games in the franchise.

I’m starting to get bored with the AC games. I waited years to the play the first and I enjoyed it. Played 2 right after and enjoyed it even more. Then I played brotherhood, got bored and fell asleep after an hour. Maybe I played them too fast. Idk. but these games are started to become redundant to me. I didnt see anything from 2 to brotherhood that felt different gameplay-wise. I havent played revelations or 3 yet. I wonder if anything changes significantly besides the story. :/

    • I would say that the combat is deeper than the previous games for ACIII. Though if you read reviews, most of them have one thing in common. They didn’t bother with many of the side missions which house majority of your upgrades you’d normally get playing through the previous games. The side missions do feel rewarding though as they each have their own story as well.

      • Yeah if i hadn’t have stopped and played the side missions i would have missed out on so much.

  • leo

The cg looks amazing the new assassin looks bad ass

  • ( `Д´)ノ)`ν゜)

Wow that sure was an ´accident´.

  • eilegz

Pirates of the Caribbean dai kaizoku jidai

  • gsnap

They’re really good at tricking me into thinking I want to play Assassin’s Creed. But I won’t be fooled again!

  • First time I’ve seen a blonde male pirate hero since Windwaker. :3

    • Looks like I need to buy 3 & 4 xD

  • AyaisMUsikWhore

I’m like the biggest assassin creed fan but now I’m kind of tired of it now. I just don’t understand when we will eventually get to, what supposed to be, now. What about desmond future. In assassin creed 3 we got a glimpse of it but I want to play in that city now. I’m getting bored now

  • Riian

Are there any spoilers in this vid? I haven’t played AC3 yet, so…

    • brian

It is a new time period, and it had nothing about its modern timeline.
Just pirates and a pretty boy.

    • All AC game trailers show only what era they’ll be dwelling into. It never shows anything plot-wise. Most people who don’t even play the game aren’t even aware that all the AC games take place in a simulated past. And that the game actually takes place in the future.

  • Omikuji

Ohh… How you stick out even more white assassin outfit. You don’t look very blend in at all surrounded by pirates. But clearly you need some more guns and swords strapped to you.

  • Randy Marsh

“We drink and we pillage and we do what we please
We get all we want for free
We’ll kick your ass and kill your lass
    Assassin’s Pirates We.”

    Dammit that was terrible!

Well the trailer looks good and models are really pretty, hopefully this game won’t be full of bugs like AS III.

    • After all that backlash for in the last game? I hope Ubisoft’s not that stupid to let it happen again…

  • Redichi24
  • JordyZ

This will probably give me better hopes than AC3. Didn’t really like the game that much. :c

  • Aoshi00

I thought they were kinda milking it too much, but I liked all 3 main AC games. Only played a bit of Brotherhood and not Revelation, and haven’t finished Liberation yet.

This trailer looks pretty good, kinda awesome assassinating a guy and stealing his girl :) So the new main is related to Haytham Kenway, Connor’s dad, right? The naval battles were excellent in AC3, so this could be a very fun game..

    • burnfist23

      Apparently, he’s Haytham’s father.

      • Aoshi00

That’s nice, so it’s Connor’s grandpa. I thought Haytham Kenway was a very cool char.. so there is some connection to AC3.

    • eilegz

never got around main AC, buy liberation was fresh and kinda cool experience some bugs here and there (like any ac or ubisoft game) but it wasnt a bad game for a portable

  • FeaturePreacher

I need to see some massive expansions in combat and traversal before I even think of purchasing this.

  • XypherCode

I really think the title should’ve been AC3: Black Flag instead of 4. I know it’s a new hero and setting but it really kinda fits if he’s really Daddy Kenway. xD

    • Grand-daddy Kenway most likely. The setting will most likely take place before the American revolution and if Blackbeard happens to be in it, it could be a good 60-70 years before the events of Assassin’s Creed III.

      • Mr_SP

Yeah, Edward Kenway was Haytham’s father, and Connor’s grandfather. It also fits the time line of Edward Teach, Blackbeard. So, this game happens in the late 1600’s, early 1700’s.

  • Spirit Macardi

If the Piece of Eden in this game turns out to be a Devil Fruit, I’ll laugh my ass off XD

    • Ferrick

Gomu Gomu no~ Hidden blade XD

  • Suriel Cruz

    The CG looks A’mazing!

  • Nivans

    What a coincidence that Assassin’s Creed’s trailers/info always “leaks” :P

    • AJ

You never took “half-assed Marketing 1001” in business school?

      • Nivans

        Definition of SARCASM
: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain
a : a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual.

        In this case it’s #2

  • ToshiChan

Well, time to bust out the Lonely Island and blast Jack Sparrow as I kill people on ships

    • Symbol de Au

      Don’t forget “On a Boat”

    • HassanJamal

This is the tale of Captain Jack Sparrow~

  • Letiumtide

I’d be interested in this is they got rid of the 100% sync thing, perhaps there were greater issues with Brotherhood and Revelations, but the 100% sync has never jived with me, I find it 4th wall breaking to hear a buzzer and know that not only to I need to redo the level but that my sense of immersion was broken.

I’m not sure if this is only an issue for me though, I don’t think I’ve ever heard many people comment on it as a concept.

  • Masa

    dual swords….FINALLY!

  • NimbusStev

I don’t care that they’re milking AC. I don’t care if it’s a cookie cutter of past AC games. I don’t care if they radically change the gameplay of AC in a negative way. In fact… I don’t care about AC at all.

I am just absolutely thrilled to finally see a AAA-caliber game centered around pirates! With next-gen graphics! I absolutely love everything about pirate lore so this game is a must-have for me, even though I’m not at all an Assassin’s Creed fan. I can’t wait!

    • Matheus Mendes

I love the AC series+i love pirates= day one buy for me!

    • LynxAmali

Would’ve had one a while ago had Disney not cancelled the Pirates of the Caribbean game they had in development…THAT ACTUALLY LOOKED GOOD.

      • NimbusStev

Yeah I played the At World’s End game but it was pretty terrible. I will desperately eat up just about any pirate game I can get my hands on. My dream is for a Bioware-style pirate game on par with the likes of Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Sadly the closest we’ve gotten to anything like that is the mediocre Risen 2. Let’s hope Black Flag takes the crown!

        • LynxAmali

I wasn’t talking about the World’s End game.

I was talking about Armada of the Damned. It was supposed to be a prequel to the movies.

          • NimbusStev

Aww that would have been awesome. That’s what a licensed game should be. Stop focusing on being an adaptation of the movie and instead come up with interesting backstory.

  • Prinnydoom

Edward Kenway hmmmm interesting looks like i might enjoy this more than AC3

  • notforsale

Rushing to preorder as we speak

  • Oh I feel a song coming on!
Do what you want, ‘cause a pirate is free,
    Yar har, fiddle di dee,
Being a pirate is alright to be,
Do what you want ‘cause a pirate is free,
    You are a pirate!

  • Sergio Briceño

    Yar yar!

  • tubers

Oh so this is a yearly thing now or something? What next?

    Assassin’s Creed: Black Ops ?

    • The plan has been to do yearly Assassin’s Creed games for a while now. Ubisoft have been very open about wanting to put one out every year.

  • Assassin’s Creed IV feat. Chris Hemsworth as Edward Kenway. :D

  • Symbol de Au

Sing a song of six pence.
    A pocket full of rye…

  • Kai2591

    or is it? lol

  • heartless141

one thing strike me interest (/pirate) was according to the trailer, the requiescat in pace talk after an assassination is gone, kinda in a badass way too.

though yeah, this has reaffirm me even more about how assassin’s creed completely lost its stealth element.

  • Ferrick

Arrsassin’s Creed IV: On stranger plot twists

but holy crap, how many pistols does this guy carry @[email protected], now imagine if each pistols have 2 shots each… dat 8 shots in one go

  • Ridho Siregar

Somehow I feel this “IV” is just like another “Brotherhood”. The relation to ACIII is still too close. And damn, a finished trilogy should needs a rest before continuing a new one. This is all too fast.

But it’s all my paranoid thoughts, though. I’m still waiting for this. Pirate world’s typical of sailing and playing with women wins me.

  • Who did the Ubisoft plumbing? Mario?

  • natchu96

Considering “Edward Kenway” and all, whatever new protagonist we’ll have could or could not be related by blood to the last one, since I guess the side of Desmond’s ancestry we were looking at could still easily be the mother’s side instead, so they could still kind of go farther back than this pirate . . .

  • Darkrise

Impressive NTR. I like this new assassin already.

  • amagidyne

I know Assassin’s Creed has always been pretty silly, but this is so goofy it makes me feel like I’m being licked by a clown. It might as well be a licensed Pirates of the Caribbean game.

  • ThunderGod_Cid

Sooooo, Ubisoft is making Assassin’s Creed themed roach poison now?
