By Ishaan . March 3, 2013 . 3:00pm

ParaPhray’s PSP rhythm game, Megpoid the Music#, has a new promo video that shows off Gumi’s moves, which look about as well animated as Sega’s Hatsune Miku: Project Diva games. You can watch the video below:

Additionally, more songs have been revealed for the game on its official website, including “Aitai” by Dios and Signal-P, “Matsuri Hayashi” by buzzG, and “Distopia Zipangu” by [email protected] Some of the previously revealed songs can be found here.

Megpoid the Music# will be released in Japan on March 28th for the PSP.

Looks solid gameplay wise and has a good track list. I’ll pick it up eventually, probably not march though.

Got my copy preordered. Super-excited for this one. ;)

Gumi herself looks OK, but the backgrounds/stages leave much to be desired.

And is this whole game really just Gumi? They couldn’t have even had some Gackpoid tracks?

I’ve seen a few people comment about the backgrounds not looking very good, but honestly, I think they look great. It’s a different style than what we’ve typically seen in the Project Diva games, but… well, this isn’t a Project Diva game! It’s a different developer trying something new by having more stylized backgrounds with an emphasis on bright, colorful designs rather than realistic modeling or bitmaps. It seems to fit the game’s visual style very nicely, and gives it its own identity.

Considering this game is not done by Sega but by a smaller company, i can said the visual looks okay.

If this game sells quite okay for the first title, i can see that the second one will introduce more improvement here.^_^ And who knows, we will also get Gakupo for the next game.^^

Looks great, but I’m worried about the gameplay. Did anyone else here play K-On for PSP? The scrolling right-to-left absolutely bothered the heck out of my eyes, and I sincerely could not get myself to stick with the game for longer than a month. Worried that it’s going to be the same case here also.

Looking forward to cute-and-lovely GUMI <3

  • Very nice, I want to play this. =)

I say: The game’ll cost 72$, I love all Vocaloids and Gumi too, but the graphics are like the PS1 graphics .-. You can’t this game for 72$ it’s ridiculous like Project Diva DT that you have to pay two times for the same game .-.
