Haven’t really played DW since DW3 but since when did they have magic-like abilities?

started getting crazy around 5-6 I would say

Since maybe DW4, then they up-ed the anti in DW7, having introduced EX attacks and new Musous.

Thanks for the heads up, and you too Brian Bayot. Hard to look at this video and see Cao Cao freezing people solid when my last look at the game was so long ago
Though the whole, minions just standing around watching the player sure hasn’t changed a bit

Pretty much, though with the increased number of enemies on screen, there’s the off chance that at least one or two soldiers will hit you when you’re not looking. And let’s not forget the annoying arrows. lol

          • andref

They do have a way of hitting when you don’t want them to

Even in DW3 there has always been magic like abilities after obtaining their final weapon, allowing you to use lighting/fire/ice/vorpal. But in the new games, fire and ice are part of some character’s move set.

been like that for years now sorry brah your late to the party(way late)

I’m quite impressed at how Koei finally gave more attention to the backgrounds. Here’s hoping every stage has a unique look to them.

I haven’t purchased a regular entry (played Hokuto no Ken, Gundam, and One Piece) since Dynasty Warriors 3, but this looks like a good time to start!

Kinda wish they would go back to Xiahou Dun’s old hairstyle, not this anime-ish look. Minor complaint though…everything else is looking quite sharp with the cut scenes moving right into combat and all. I can’t wait to run around with Pang Tong again.

Totally totally agree. This new look he has just doesn’t fit him. Xiahou Dun from DW3 is my favorite. I miss the cape.

      • Follower_of_Pram

Definitely a fan of his DW3 and DW4 look. The cape was a nice touch for him. I find it amusing that his hair is getting shorter and shorter with each game. Hopefully, Dun doesn’t go bald by the next one. ‘^’

    • Göran Isacson

I thought I was the only one. His look in DW4 is by FAR his best look.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

This game while still looks like the old ones, i just can’t stop myself from being happy and wanting to buy this game to play with all my friends here.^_^

  • Warboss Aohd

hopefully dey actually dub it dis time.

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

      50+ Voice actors…chances are no they won’t.

Wonder if there’s a chance that they’ll put in Chinese dubs for the American audience one day..I kinda wanna see how they do considering this is based off of Chinese history after all…

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

You mean the dub that doesn’t exist? These games aren’t dubbed in Chinese.

  • Zero Shift

Literally got chills watching that. Looks to me like they’ve kept everything that the core fans love about the series and improved on them. The animations are smooth, mechanics looks like the same stuff that made DW7 great except improved on, character models are beautiful, the music is definitely spot on for what the series is known for, and the stage designs are very expansive and varied going by what I saw on the mini maps! As a long time fan of the Warriors games who have been playing every release thoroughly since DW2, I’m definitely keeping this one on my radar and highly anticipating the US release.

Sigh still waiting for their announcement.
