Tigrex Isn’t The Only Monster That Can Catch Monster Hunter 4′s Wyvern Virus

Monster Hunter 4 has a new feature called the Feral Wyvern Virus, which is a virus that can be spread by monsters in the game. While Capcom have only mentioned the Tigrex and Babakonga in connection with the virus up until now, other monsters can be infected by it, too. Today, they updated the game’s website with screenshots of other infected monsters:

If a player catches the Feral Wyvern Virus, it prevents you from naturally recovering health while infected. Repeatedly attacking and defeating the monster you caught it from rids you of the virus.

Capcom also provided screenshots of Khezu, who’s back for Monster Hunter 4, after taking a break from Monster Hunter Tri, Portable 3rd and 3 Ultimate:

Aaand… Congalala is a Wyvern? Just when I thought Wyvern Virus is just for Wyvern…. so it’s like H5N1?

Why do those screenshots look so bad?

Because the 3DS hardware is literally unfair to compare to a Wii U, the 3DS has literally no power x( Sorry If I say this but that’s why I don’t have one anymore.

Rather get the Wii U version of Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate.

What I meant was, I’ve seen way better 3DS games.

        • teknik1200

there are no better games compared to monster hunter.

The screenshot you posted is from the Wii U version of 3 Ultimate. That said, it’s true that MH4, at least in screenshots, doesn’t look as good as the 3DS version of 3 Ultimate either.

This is likely because the environments in MH4 are more complex and interactive than the ones in 3U, and the load times between areas are shorter, too. Both of those take their toll on the hardware resources.

It looks bad. But this game probably runs at 60 FPS right?

The color palette and contrast is also somewhat questionable. It doesn’t seem to blend well (except the last 4 SS that has a grey worm dragon).

so even monster hunter has G-virus now? or was the W-virus? now the monster has another way to kick my ass

They should have Goa Margeras(sp?) show up as an easter egg boss in a RE game someday.

  • Spider-Man

The textures on Congalala look awful. No wonder Capcom pushed the game’s release to improve the quality.

    • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

Judging by the last trailer, I don’t think texture quality is what they’re working on improving. That aspect of it looked the same to me as before.

      • Spider-Man

You’re right sadly. Honestly, some parts looked worse.

    Always wear protection kids…

  • Vash bane

hm knew this from the last trailer

Will never be as good as Freedom Unite was. Best monsters, most content, looks better than this too. Just too bad Capcom wont give us any of the better ones here.
