Final Fantasy X HD On PS3 Will Include Final Fantasy X-2

By Ishaan . March 19, 2013 . 8:30am

Final Fantasy X HD on the PlayStation will include a second game as part of the package—its direct sequel Final Fantasy X-2. The news comes via a report in Jump magazine. Both games will be based on their International Edition releases.

On the PlayStation Vita, both titles will have to be purchased separately. The two games are slated for release sometime this year. A price has not been announced either for the PS3 or Vita versions yet.

Wasnt expecting that, an honest thank you from a square enix fan! – thank you!

  • blembot4000

now that’s what i like to hear totally buying this

  • Good.

Don’t care what anyone says. FFX-2 was wholly underrated as a title. Don’t give a crap what people has to say about the Charlie’s Angels vibes. The story was solid and so was the battle system.

Even better that they’d be the International versions. The content missing from the US version of either is saddening.

    • People are way too cynical and angry. Yes, FFX-2 was like the Charlie’s Angels of the series. That’s what made it fun and lighthearted!

      • KnifeAndFork

Don’t forget the Yatterman/Doronjo Gang influence with that comedic enemy trio

      • Considering the events of FFX, why wouldn’t it be? They deserved it.

    • Go2hell66

i think the FFX-2 battle system was the pinnacle of the battle systems in the ff series as a whole, overall the game was still crap though

    • Testsubject909

To avoid spoilers. Just… don’t read what I have striked out…

I just hope that they don’t make the requirement for 100% as ridiculous as they first did. I never aimed for it anyways… (And since I’m in the camp who believes that tidus was a wholly useless tagalong character and thus never cared for him, I thus never really cared for the 100%).

Though for people going in blind, I suppose they might want a happy ending for their protagonist in FFX-2 if they go in blind, and could happily aim for the true ending with satisfying results… Yeah, I’m in the camp of “The less you know about FFX and the characters there-in, the more likable the character who shows up in the true end becomes”….

Actually same goes with wakka… that racist religious nut (edit: edited to try and make it harder for people to accidentally read what I have striked out and reworded a bit to avoid information… but let’s be honest it’s impossible to avoid spoilers considering how old the game is. still.)

  • Charles

As the only person in the world that liked X-2 this is awesome news.

    • Doubt you were the only one.

    • Akuosa

I really liked the battle system, but the Charlie’s Angels characters and plot made it too much.

      • To me, it made it like a cheesy movie. I.. I like cheesy movies ._.

        • neocatzon

          I like cheese

        • Exactly. It was a unique interpretation of of a Final Fantasy game and I enjoyed it for what it was more than for what it wasn’t.

      • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

The part that bothered me the most was when we saw the epic giant robot. What was Yuna’s reaction? Lets ignore it and fight Team Rocket.

Also most Spira’s civilians are really helpless.

        • I don’t like what happened to Yuna and Rikku. It’s like you really are playing imposters of them and the actual ones died.

          • A girl gets freed from a life that was due to end young, and rikku just owns in any way shape or form…….the first can change people, the second…..well its just awesome being awesome. I love thief characters.

          • I understand that but you’d think they’d have grown from the experience and trauma they faced in part 1. For X-2, Wakka and Lulu also need to gain the appropriate weight they’d have grown.

          • Anon-non

It’s two years. If they were to gain weight, it would be either from hitting puberty or binge eating.

          • Yeah but Wakka is mentioned to have gained at least a little weight and Lulu is supposed to be pregnant and even gives birth at the end.

          • Scrooge_McDuck

If you think it as a meta-commentary that ties into the plot’s entire theme, it becomes brilliant.

Not sure if that’s intentional, though…

        • Testsubject909

          About Spira’s Civilians.

If not entirely idiotic… Remind me again why there’s a New Yevon religion? And why they’re always so hypocritical in the usage of technology despite the obvious religious nuts they have in their midst or worse yet why these religious nuts keep on following the religion despite obvious and continued betrayal *coughwakkacough*?

It’s things like these that when I have the backstory of FFX-2, that is to say personal experience and knowledge of FFX, that FFX-2 makes no sense… But if I remove FFX from memory. FFX-2 works just fine since thankfully the ideology of New Yevon isn’t quite as clearly established…

You sure the giant robot part was what bothered you the most and not the “Let’s hold a giant concert (edit: in the middle of a territory filled with thunderstorms that strikes anyone who traverses these lands) even though we know there’s a giant robot that could annihilate the country in danger of being awakened” part?

To the one following me around and lurking. Hey, I never said FFX-2 didn’t have it’s obvious problems. I’m just saying it’s a hellova lot of fun and works way better without FFX.

          • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

What I mean is that all these missions are really trivial. It kind of reminded me to the TV series Pokemon where Ash wasted an episode helping a Bulbasaur who was anxious about his next Spanish exam. There is just no fun in that.

          • Scrooge_McDuck

“And why they’re always so hypocritical in the usage of technology despite the obvious religious nuts they have in their midst or worse yet why these religious nuts keep on following the religion despite obvious and continued betrayal”

Because it’s a dogmatic religion with a charismatic leader. Hypocrisy and ignorance are par for the course.

    • dragoon_slayer12

My beef with it is the girl power crap. I think it’s a great game, that is definitely worth it after the concert scene.

    • Yeah, the battle system was some of the best in the series, couldn’t say the same about the story. What also killed it was the brutal “necessity” to complete it at 100% to get the “best definitive ultimate super special awesome ending.”

Come on, you cant ‘troll’ your playerbase like that, you have to (and i hate using this as a reference because i hate this particular series now) treat it like a KH game where you get one definitive ending, and any extra stuff you complete will net you either an extended ending that sheds a bit more light on the prior ending, or (god forbid SE do this AGAIN for another KH game) show an ending where it hints at a sequel…

      • Said ending really wasn’t ‘definitive’ or even all that good. It was just an homage to Tidus’ speech at the begining of FFX. The only real difference in the endings is the choice made by the player to decide if they wanted Tidus back or not.

      • Scrooge_McDuck

Actually, I vastly prefer the Normal Ending instead of the Good/Best one. It concludes the game’s entire theme very well. I firmly believe that the Normal Ending is the “true” ending, while the Good/Best is just fanservice.

You don’t need 100% for the Good Ending anyway, Only for the Best. And that one is merely an extension of Good, much like your KH example.

        • Ereek

I admit I’m just dropping in here for this comment, but I fully agree on all accounts. I absolutely abhor the true ending. From a thematic and Yuna’s character development perspective, I much prefer the good ending.

    • KnifeAndFork

      A thousand words…

      • Dear Lord, you just reminded me of how many times I played that over and over XD

      • Testsubject909

Holds more emotional impact and gravitas then the entirety of FFX and it’s awkward romance.

Edit: Fun little thing to note. The English and Japanese version differs… I don’t mean the song itself, I mean the scene. Go look it up, spot all the differences between the Japanese FMV and the English FMV.

    • i liked it a lot. i loved the fact that it had a lot of pop idol themes as well as magical girl themes. the only problem is that i didnt realise that i liked these things until i was much older. Now i cant wait to play again!

    • Talearc

Hope they announced US version ASAP

    • I loved X-2 as well. Don’t worry, you are not alone.

    • Christopher Abraham

    • Testsubject909

There’s tons of people who liked X-2.

Most people who dislike X-2, I said most, tend to have a very fond attachment to FFX.

    • Anesia Hunter

Many complained but there are plenty who liked it and I know I liked FFX-2.

But I hope they use the international version of it. D:

      • Pombar

They’re going to, which is pretty much the best news about this. FFX and FFX-2 both being based on their international versions is awesome.

        • I would like to actually know the differences between them. I own the originals, so what was added to the international besides a few extra summons?

          • Wiccan1109

FFX International had Dark Aeons to fight I think? I’m EU and thats the version we get but I think NA didn’t get them.

FFX-2 International had quite a few changes in terms of balance, speed, gameplay adjustments. It also featured 2 or 3 new dress spheres. One of the biggest elements was the ability to catch monsters and NPCs (like most of the original cast, and new ones like Gippal, Baralai etc) and use them in your party. It also had a seperate epilogue scenario called Last Mission, big dungeon. Last Mission wasnt voiced in English tho, don’t know if we’d see that.

          • Dave Mailloux

FFX had you fight all the Dark Aeons and a superboss named Penance, who was supposedly very challenging. FFX-2 had a couple new dresspheres/garment grids, a battle tower, and the ability to capture monsters for a monster arena like its predecessor. Nothing back-breakingly important, but really nice content nonetheless.

I’m personally very excited for the chance to have the International versions of these games. Hopefully it sells very well, because the real prize will be playing FFXII: IZJS somewhere down the road. Good sales might inspire them to make it.

    • Testsubject909

You should read more of the comments below.

    • Anime10121

You are not the only one, I’m right there with you in the minority bro, and not just because of the awesomely amazing battle system! The plot developed into something awesome as the story delved into Shuyin’s past :D

    • I liked it too!

    • I liked it, except for the one part I hated in X, the lightning field.

    • i liked it too.
and i liked the sailor moon transformations, too!!

  • Just a rumor… wishful thinking, really.

    • It isn’t a rumour. Read the post. We specify in the rare event that we post rumours.

  • Zenthos

Now people finally have a reason other than the hd to purchase this title.

  • Guest

I really wish this would come to the PS4 as well!

  • Neppygear

Yes. Good. Good. You’re doing good, Square. Very good.

  • Akimitsu

Hopefully the price for the PS3 version doesn’t match each individual Vita one. Don’t want to see the PS3 version costing something like $40, then each title on the Vita costing $40 each.

Other than that and the fact I couldn’t get past 10 hours into X-2, I am excited for this, as I do want to give it another chance.

    • Phil Thomas

I agree on the pricing issue. I hope we see some reasonable pricing, as I want to get these on the Vita and wouldn’t want to pay $40 per game when the PS3 version is $60 for both (for example).

  • Duc PC-QB

So I guess this is a good news ?
And … FFXII will be next ?

    • kupomogli

Let’s hope FF12 is next. Zodiac job system? Day one.

    • Misty Dawson

Oh my goodness. If an hd version of the international zodiac ffxii came out here.. I would probably die with a smile… then become alive again to play it.

    • OH MY GOD, YES. Balthier and Fran in HD…mmmmmmm…

  • Leon_Tekashi

I never got around to beating x-2. Now I can challenge it again in glorious HD with all of the missing content.

  • Really cool~ X is my favorite FF and since I never had the chance to beat X-2, this is the perfect reason to get the HD collection~ Although, not sure if for the PS3 or Vita.

    • Kchorrex

Apparently only the PS3 version will come with X-2, let’s hope they confirm otherwise.

  • Great news. Was waiting for this.

  • Go2hell66

Glad were getting FFX-2 now if they’re splitting the games on vita, how many times am i going to have to buy this damn game if i want it on both ps3 & vita

  • PersonaSpace

So… FFXHD now also has FFX-2 in HD AND is based on the international versions? I am sold in so many ways right now.

  • kupomogli

I had no intention of purchasing FF10 HD, but this little tidbit of information changes my mind. I didn’t like FF10 much, but the battle system alone is reason enough to love FF10-2.

    • Testsubject909

Woot! *hi-five or bro-fist to your choice*

  • FFX-2 had my favorite iteration of the ATB up to that point. It was fast and fabulous.
I’m happy to hear this news :D

  • Mister_Nep

Gonna probably import this. With this much content I want to buy it in both English and Japanese. Not to mention this game has influenced me greatly. If it wasn’t for Final Fantasy 10 I wouldn’t even be a gamer today.

  • Chrystofax

Some of the International Dress spheres looked really nice when I saw them years ago, I was pretty sad at never having the chance to use them

  • gamerdude

Ah you mean the game when Sakaguchis vision was pooed on by Toryama who has since gone on to drag the Final Fantasy brand from gaming gold to sewage waste of bikinis and shallow gameplay.

It’s like buying a classic novel and getting Twilight as a freebie.

    • “Sakaguchi’s vision”? I love Sakaguchi as much as the next guy, but he was barely involved in FF10.

      • gamerdude

Have you seen the making of? Or read his design documents for his old games on his blog? He storyboarded X with the accuracy not seen in the industry today.

SE has tried to downplay his involvement in the FF series ever since he left but if you take a peek at his documents released on his blog you’ll come to realize that Sakaguchi was the backbone of Final Fantasy games.

  • AlexiusY

    Yes! OP Dresspheres ahoy!

  • Good. Now hopefully they do a FFXII IZJS + FFType-0 collection. I would buy that so fast the shelves it was sitting on would catch fire.

  • Misty Dawson

Omigoshomigoshomigosh I hope this will be out here because I want to play them on my Vita sooooooo badly. I liked both of them so much *_* I’m a sucker for costume swaps and class changing… ugh. BRING EM ON, SE!

  • KimikoGaming

I would have preferred cross-buy for just FFX and X-2 be a completely separate game with cross-buy as well. But this works. I already have the games for the PS2, so I really just want the handheld versions, so I guess I’ll have to buy both. I just hope it isn’t the same price for each as it is for both on the PS3.

  • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

I don’t know what to say. Here’s my reaction

EDIT: Well at least FF10-2 Int has Tidus, Auron and Seymour as extra characters.

  • DrakeClawfang

Good, they’re gonna be the Final Mix versions. *Now* this is of interest to me.

    • KimikoGaming

*International. You are thinking Kingdom Hearts. =P

      • DrakeClawfang

Same difference. “International” is just a blatant lie.

  • dragoon_slayer12

I had a feeling square Enix was going to compile X with this. Hopefully they throw XII into the mix, and I will purchase both the ps3 and Vita version, just for giving me XII on the go (2nd favorite final fantasy)

    • KimikoGaming

I’ve never really been able to get into XII, but if they make an HD version for the Vita, I will gladly pick it up and give it another chance.

      • dragoon_slayer12

Assuming you didn’t get far into the story, it is my 2nd favorite because of it. Combat was a little flawed, and character development is nonexistent, but the story is so deep and compelling, it is definitely a must play for that alone

Vayne is truly a great villain and boss

    • Zakai

FF XII has such a great gameplay and huge world ! But common the story is a real mess and it s hard to know who is th hero ..

      • dragoon_slayer12

I actually think the opposite. Gameplay could’ve been better, and I thought the story was amazing. As for the “hero”, without spoiling anything, it’s really ashe’s story. Everybody else just got “dragged” along, really

        • Raos

In fact it’s stated by Matsuno that it’s Basch

          • dragoon_slayer12

Unfortunately the story plays contrary. Basch is there due to the past, bathier and fran for the ride, penelo and Vann for boredom, ashe by royal duty. Their further ties expand the story, but without ashe, nothing could’ve proceeded at all. That’s where I base my conclusion on. Like FFVII, without Cloud, things couldn’t have happened, IX, tidus is the cause of events and self honor won’t allow himself to walk away from issues, VIII, squalls indifference of relationships and crush on rinoa wouldn’t let him just walk away and “be left alone” like he claims he wants.

Everybody in each series has a major role to each title, but because of certain reasons to the “star”, things couldn’t happen without them, and the party is push forward thanks to them

    • Rogerrmark

Who knows, they might even compile Revenant Wings along with it too,one day.Or make a FFXII Re:Revenant Wings.

      • dragoon_slayer12

I never got to play revenant, so that would be nice. Make it look more like Disgaea D2, and I’m definitely down

  • alixraen

I had little intention of purchasing this, but now I may skip it altogether.

  • Roberto Cavalcante Souza

    I hope it’s the international

    • nigganigga9000

it says it is did you even read? The article is like 10 lines long brah you are retarded

  • heartless141

i hope this is only in japan, and the western version with have both games on one card :3

  • Tom

It seems Square Enix is slowly finding it’s way back to the right path.

    • KimikoGaming

Through remakes. =P For a while SE has been going downhill, but the remakes have been fantastic.

    • When have they failed to deliver as far as ports and remakes? Original titles are what you should be concerned about.

  • Safros9

I hope that the 2 Vita games will add up to the sum total of the PS3 game… because if not then Vita users would be kinda getting screwed over, along with having little incentive to buy them apart from the fact that they would be portable.

    • Testsubject909

      I’d be alright with that.

Personally, honestly. I’d only purchase FFX-2.

      • Having them separate would be a good idea. I’m not sure if I want to fight Seymour again… and again…

That and I’ve never played X-2 before so it may be great to just be able to get that one.

  • Zakai

Is it possible to have the international version ? I guess they are may be some localization issue ? Voice content missing ?

  • TheExile285

I hope SE is smart enough not to price FFX & FFX-2 as $40 each. If they are $20-30 I will get both.

  • cloudcaelum

MGS HD did this, Why not for FF? **** SE, like as these days.

    • Ferrick

“Final Fantasy X HD on the PlayStation will include a second game as part of the package—its direct sequel Final Fantasy X-2…”

They are doing it, do learn to read the article before posting these

      • cloudcaelum

        I mean Vita, you know?

        • Ferrick

well you could mention that from the get go, because your original statement states that they didn’t include X-2 at all, but Kojipro did seperate peace walker from the original MGS HD for vita too (and sold it at a seperate price)

          • cloudcaelum

Lol man, learn to read and then answer me, sure my statement is about Vita version, are you joke or what? If you read it news, how can you say statement like mine?

MGS 2 and MGS 3 was 8GB, they reduced from 8GB to 3.2GB without any deficiency. So SE can do, but they will not, cuz why you know? Lol, sure you don’t…

          • Ferrick

“MGS HD did this, Why not for FF? **** SE, like as these days.”

tell me, where do you see the word vita ? Do you expect people to magically know what you’re talking about ?

Ever heard of optimizing ? No ? and also without any deficiency ? did you play the original mgs2 and 3 ? some parts were cut out from the original and the frame rates are not as stable as the originals, that’s what we call compression, so what do you know ?

Also i would prefer it if they’re sold separately but could atleast run with stable frame rates (and not so high price)

  • Zonic505

Awesome to hear the inclusion of X-2 and the fact it’s the Int. version with the bonus content. I remember playing this long ago (I didn’t understand most of the hate) & thought it was decent, but now I can fully play it.

  • Otoya

I never played FFX and X-2 before. Most probably buying in Vita so I can bring it to overseas to play while studying. LOL. Hope the price is not ridiculous and no digital download only version, please.

  • kool_cid414

I was going to get this because I never really played X but this news makes me more excited I rented X-2and enjoyed it but didn’t get too far and was obviously confused but enjoyed the battle system a lot.

  • Sergio Briceño

And that… Still doesn’t explain why it’s taking so long for them to show some gameplay (rotating in-game models don’t count).

  • Unlimax

Now i know why FFX HD takes all that time under development , Thanks .. Square :)

  • Brandonmkii

I hope there’s some kind of cross buy thing in the west, or at least make them reasonably priced, because I do a lot of gaming on the go, and it would be tops blooby to be able to pick up where I left off when I get home.

  • Arvin Jay

Square Enix a request to make it FINAL FANTASY X-2: INTERNATIONAL + LAST MISSION because it’s far more complete than the normal english & japanese versions.

  • Even though Final Fantasy X/X-2 aren’t my FAVORITE in the series, the fact that both versions will be the International iterations makes me consider buying this package.

  • KingGunblader

Whether you like X-2 or not, including it is a VERY wise choice. Cross Buy would be nice, Square Enix!

  • Any word if the HD edition will include Dark Aeons and updated Sphere Grid? Basically everything that the PAL version of FF10 had.

    • Tristin Mount

Yes!! It says it will be based on international edition aka PAL

Great news, I love the FFX series and FFX-2 was my first FF which made me love FFX even more <3

  • Linhua

    … sooo… to be clear, Ishaan… FFX-2 isn’t gonna be HD’d…?

    • Ferrick

both are going to be HD’d

      • Linhua

… I hope you’re right. Or maybe i’m just reading too much into it because FFX-2 doesn’t have an ‘HD’ next to it so I thought they were just throwing it in just because.

  • benhofb

I’ve never played the originals, so it makes me happy to hear I can pick up both when the HD remake launches. What bugs me though is that it is a separate package deal with the Vita. Are the game cards really that large that they can’t fit X and X-2 on one chip? Or the prices of boxes so high that they can’t make a double cartridge box? Meh.

    • Testsubject909

Actually that brings up the question.

Is this going to be sold retail?

      • benhofb

Oh man. If we waited all this time for a stupid digital-only release I would kill someone. I really hope it is retail. I honestly couldn’t see them releasing two vita boxes when the could just do one, but money is money I guess.

  • akiko_sakuraba

AWESOME. Exactly the news I was looking forward to. I had expected this would happen. I’M A GENIUS! Will buy the Japanese copy once it comes out. SUPER LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS.

    • Testsubject909

Not… sure why someone downvoted you… Ah, well, I’ll just upvote you to balance this out.

      • akiko_sakuraba

        Thank you!

  • HerosLight

    X-2 was ok…

I was already buying FFX HD in the first place, even if it didn’t include X-2 HD. But I’m glad they added it, I never beat X-2.

What I would really like from them now and from reading some comments here is an HD version of FFXII – International Zodiac Job System.

  • pimpalicious

Nice. Hopefully FF XII and Dragon Quest VIII will get HD releases as well.

  • saxophone15

This just became an instant buy for me. I beat FFX back on PS2 but I never decided to play X-2 (thought FFX’s ending was fine as is). I will gladly play it though since it comes with it.

The thing that worries me is that this doesn’t sound like it will be cross buy. It I want both games packaged as one, I need to get the PS3 version (even though I like the idea of playing this on my Vita). This is going to be a tough decision for me.

    • No publisher aside from Sony is ever going to do Cross-Buy. It makes no financial sense.

      • neo_firenze

Lots of indies self-publishing on PSN are already doing it. Retro City Ransom, Pinball Arcade, Knytt Underground, Alien Breed, Hotline: Miami when it releases in the near future, etc.

And while you’re right that big publishers other than Sony aren’t doing it now, you never know whether that might change. I could see Sony giving a 3rd party some incentive to make their Vita/PS3 title Cross Buy, much like I assume they have to do to convince third parties to give their games away for free on PS Plus. I could even conceive of some publisher (not stodgy old Square-Enix, but SOMEONE) deciding to price their game at a point where they think they’d make more money selling cross-buy Vita+PS3 than having separate versions of each.

        • I thought it was obvious I was referring to major retail titles. -_-

          • neo_firenze

If it’s inherently illogical for major retail games, what makes it a viable business model for indies? There’s got to be something there attracting them. It’s a unique selling point that might make some people decide to buy a game they were otherwise reluctant to buy (and in fact was precisely the tipping point I needed to convince me to buy PS All Star Battle).

And how would you explain publishers allowing their games to be given away for free on PS Plus? If you think it’s because of a deal between that publisher and Sony, don’t you think Sony could give the same kind of deal to promote the Cross Buy program?

I don’t think 3rd party major releases on Cross Buy is as obviously “never gonna happen” as you seem to believe. I DO think it’s probably wishful thinking that FFX/X-2 would be cross buy though, just considering that we’re talking about a company with an uber-traditional Japanese corporate mindset like Square-Enix.

          • I think for indies it makes sense because a lot of those games are smaller and probably wouldn’t receive as much attention on their own. By going Cross-Buy, they’re attracting attention.

Sony have tools that make porting PS3 games to Vita easier on developers, and I would imagine that for simpler indie titles, it’s a fairly straightforward process. For retail, it doesn’t make as much sense because those games are a lot more complicated and not many publishers have shown an interest in developing a Vita version in the first place. If they do go to the trouble to develop a Vita version, why give it away for free?

PlayStation Plus is different because I’m fairly certain that Sony would either be sharing revenue with publishers or giving them a really steep discount on royalties or something along those lines. PS Plus just requires you to take your game, which isn’t selling any more, and let Sony give a few copies away for free. It doesn’t require additional development.

      • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

There’s been a couple of indie game that weren’t under a Sony publishing deal that were cross-buys, no?

But yea, otherwise it makes absolutely no financial sense to do so.

      • saxophone15

I know it doesn’t make financial sense, but I would still like it. There is one way it could benefit them though…and that is by creating a sense of good-will.

  • The Watcher

for some reason i thought it said if you buy X you get XIII-2, lol

  • Guillaume Arseneau

So this officially confirms an HD version of X-2 ? ……… Oh god !!!

    • Testsubject909

Woohoo! All your perverted delights of watching the girls transform in H….D!

  • Leo121

Am I the only person here who wants Final Fantasy XII HD as well.

    • saxophone15

I would love that, but I think it’s a little too early to be thinking about that. At least wait until FFX HD comes out.

    • I’m going to go ahead and say “hell no”.

      • Leo121

I liked XII over XIII, so hell yeah for me :D

        • Herok♞

Wait so you liked 12 more and you don’t want a HD remake?

          • Testsubject909

There are always those who have a mind to the future rather then the past.

“FFXII was a great experience and I’m glad and satisfied that I experienced it. Now I want to see what else Squeenix can make rather then have them churn out the same game repeatedly a la Final Fantasy 4.” is a possible attitude.

          • Herok♞

Test I was poking fun at them because they made a grammatical error.

          • Leo121

            Read my original comment :)

          • Herok♞

I know what you said, it was a joke because if you say H yeah against the H no it means you don’t want a FF12 remake.

    • Randy Marsh

No you are not, I want it also and it should have an option to play either the original or ZJS.

    • Testsubject909

I just want an impossible FF6 remake a la Romancing Saga PS2 3D remake.

If Squeenix can pull off a 3D remake of an old game back in the Nes/Snes day, one that is a huge expansive world with multiple different main characters, side characters, tons of sidequests and etc… They sure can make a 3D console remake of FF6…

But they won’t. And they never will. And the same goes for Chrono Trigger and the forever cancelled Chrono Trigger Resurrection… Kinda depressing…

On the bright side, your FFXII has a higher chance of going HD comparatively speaking…

    • amagidyne

That would be the best. Fran and Balthier in HD = VERY YES.

  • For as much as everyone likes to bitch about X-2, this is actually a pretty sweet pack-in bonus. Why it’s being sold separately on the Vita, though, I have no idea.

Speaking of the Vita, will this game support cross-platform saves?

  • i have never been so excited about a bundle of old games!!! XD its not 100% clear, but i hope it is in HD as well. Also, i wonder i they will do character model fixes and tweaks here in there in X-2 as well. :O

  • Ricardo C

Im actually glad they did this. As much as people like to bash on X-2 for what it is for having too much “girl power” and for being “Charlie’s Angels with Final Fantasy girls” and the shape of Yuna’s head looking weird (which I dont mind at all) this is actually a smart decision.

  • DurableTomb

Why is it that game companies only ever get generous to the US right AFTER I import something…

  • Vitor Duarte

Are we getting the Vita version of FFX if we buy the PS3 package? That would be neat!
And FFX-2 was a good game, a bit girly yes, but fun.

  • Whether you like FFX-2 or not, it’s pretty awesome that we’re getting an updated shinier version to go with our already updated and shiny version of FFX at no additional cost (on PS3). It’s a nice gesture on SE’s part, and I for one will enjoy said bonus as I never did get around to playing FFX-2.

  • KingRuff

Never had a chance to finish either one of these. I borrowed them from a friend a long time ago but his discs were so scratched that I couldn’t play past the first section on either one. Definitely picking this up so I can finally finish these games.

  • Jose Angeles

Great news! I;m so excited to buy this game! Thank you Square! :-)

  • Randy Marsh

Oh come on, now I have to beat Penance, Major Numerous, and Strongest Shinra again! Well at least I get to play X-2 International in English this time around.

  • Is THIS why we haven’t heard much of X? Because developers are converting TWO games to HD? As much I dread X-2, I’ll still get the PS3 version.

    • Testsubject909

Tip. When you play X-2, forget the idea that it’s a sequel, just flush it right out. Maybe look at an episode of Charley’s Angel or something or maybe Panty and Stocking or any wacky fun thing, maybe even Animaniacs.

FFX-2 is there for fun. It’s focus is fun. So long as you’re jumping into FFX-2 for the sole express purpose of having fun. You’ll not be disappointed.

      • Unfortunately from Spoony’s reviews, X-2 has “kinderguardians” which is enough to make me cynical in hoping we’ll get a Final Fantasy is grimdark with the protagonist forcing his enemies to dig shallow graves while a dark storm and no music to make the atmosphere so grim and dark to juxtapose X-2’s awful atmosphere.

        • Testsubject909

Dude. Lighthearted fun. Ever heard of it?

But hey. You wanna keep on bashing your point, it’s fine. I’ll keep bashing mine.

  • Vulpis

One piece of infornmation I haven’t seen mentioned, though–is this HD release an upgrade of FFX International…or just FFX? (IIRC, wasn’t International released in the EU, but not US?)

    • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

The character designs have improved considering how last month we saw Tidus and Yuna’s new models. I really hope they fix the minigames cos the chocobo racing game was broken as hell (and it was really important).

      • Testsubject909

Edit: Whoops… I failed to read a line in the article, m’bad.

    • Testsubject909

I failed to read it on my first go myself, but the article does state it’s based on the International release.

  • neo_firenze

Here’s hoping this provides some incentive for people to give FFX-2 more of a chance. Seems like people fixated on female characters and a slightly more goofy nature before, but maybe gaming is a little more grown up now and we can handle an all female cast better.

X-2 has downright fantastic combat and job/dressphere systems. From a battle mechanics standpoint, it’s up there with the best and probably deserves some more credit than it gets.

    • Yeah gameplay-wise X-2 is a good game, well worth trying. It is just YMMV on the story and direction it took.

  • Wow this is cool, but I just want to know one thing:

Will we be able to use our old saved data from the PS2 if we just use the memory card transfer adapter?

If someone or a MOD able to answer this please? The reason why I’m asking if you must know is because I actually never finished X-2, but would love to especially if its in HD now.

    • Testsubject909

I’m personally quite doubtful that they’d have the ability to import your old PS2 data.

I mean… are you able to do that with Ico or Shadow of the Colossus HD?

      • If I knew that I wouldn’t have asked lol

    • I highly doubt you’ll be able to import data from your old PS2 memory card. No HD collections to date have allowed that to my knowledge.

  • Sentsuizan_93

That’s good to hear. Now all I need is a release date and I’m ready to place an order.

  • eilegz

hope both version are international HD remaster

    • Testsubject909

I missed it on my first read as well, but it does state both versions are based on their international releases.

  • NANAandLIZZYfanatic

I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it!!!

  • Testsubject909

(Edit: Woot! Called it. Anonymous downvoter. You really don’t like me saying bad things about FFX/good things about FFX-2 don’tcha?)

I’ve repeated myself tons of times and I’ll repeat myself again.

Play FFX-2 before playing FFX if you’ve never played either.

It’s a wholly better experience that way as most of what fans of FFX dislike about FFX-2 are in part continuity errors and drastic theme shifts. But when taken alone, as is, FFX-2 is a very entertaining and enjoyable game as your mind is not confined to pre-established status-quo.

To the FFX fan who has been stalking me and downvoting me anytime I mention this. Again, thought exercise. Remove everything you know and feel about FFX, do the same for FFX-2, then replay in your mind not your emotions but the events and details of FFX-2. Any reference to FFX ends up being just background setting, theme and world lore as if you dove into any other game and makes the discovery of what happened in FFX an interesting adventure…

But I’m in the camp that FFX’s story sucked a whole lot… At least with FFX-2 I had a lot of fun with the main game. I swear, the most fun I’ve had with FFX was just playing Blitzball and was the only reason I moved forward on with the story… And for that last paragraph I just wrote, I can understand if you downvote me for that, but do tell me though at the very least. I like being able to understand why people dislike what I say rather then just a general thumb down that doesn’t really say anything when I touch a few different subjects in one post.

    • I own both and outside of some rough spots in certain aspects of the games I liked them both.

      • Testsubject909

I can certainly see why some people would like or love FFX, I will say that.

    • Lolita

Honestly, I grew up playing both FFX and FFX-2 when I was still in elementary or middle school so I enjoyed them both. The first time I laid eyes on FFX was what I would like to describe it as “love at first sight”. It sounds cheesy I know but then one day I decided to buy it and it turned out be a great adventure. I also really enjoyed FFX-2 because I grew up playing with that one too. The change in theme didn’t really bother me much because I was just a kid so I didn’t really care that much. FFX was dark because of the corruption of religion and all that stuff (I only found this out when I’m older today because I was too young to understand such things back then). FFX-2’s change makes sense because Sin is gone forever and the people of Spira don’t rely on the religion of Yevon anymore to live, so they have a lot more freedom.

  • Riseabovethesky

The dresspheres exclusive to the international version seem really cool. I particularly like the ‘Festival-Goer’.

  • artemisthemp

Hope Square Enix get some sort of Cross Save in place, so I can play FFX on PS3 and continue playing the Vita version on ad work.

  • capristrider

Great news, I have to say FF X-2 has one the best opening theme music in all the series, simply beautiful.

    • It be better if the concert was destroyed by a bunch of missiles. It would help shift the tone in a darker direction.

      • Testsubject909

And completely miss the mark of the intent behind the game.

Few questions. How many Final Fantasy games have you played? Second, how long have you been following the progression of Final Fantasy games through it’s lengthy history. Third. Did you understand their goal with Final Fantasy X-2? Fourth. Are you capable of enjoying a game without it having to have a dark theme?

Five. Did you play FFX before FFX-2… I still state heavily that FFX ruins FFX-2 while FFX-2 alone stands strong.

        • Well sadly there seems most Final Fantasy games tend to be too light-hearted than one can stomach. The dialogue coming from Serah and Mog are just horrendous because Motomu Toriyama believed that what they do is comedy.

Sazh provided better comedy because of his down-to-earth personality looking down on the majority of the cast as children.

A few light-hearted moments are fine as long they are implemented in a clever way, something X, X-2, XIII and XIII-2 failed to grasp, probably because of the use of realistic graphics.

The point is that there’s needs to be a Final Fantasy is dark and mature from start to finish, and I’m not referring to the childish kind like sex and gore.

          • amagidyne

I’m not sure why you think that would work. Does anyone at Square-Enix do “dark and mature” well? Are any of those people on the core Final Fantasy development team? If anything, I think they should go the opposite direction- cut the melodrama entirely and focus on gameplay.

If there’s one thing to take away from Toriyama and Nomura’s success (in Japan) at Square-Enix, it’s that the story doesn’t matter. Final Fantasy Fans will be happy if there’s a guy and a girl and they kiss at the end. That is the only part they care about, and the sooner you realize that (and the sooner you realize that Square-Enix realized it twelve years ago), the better.

This isn’t an indictment of you or them, by the way. For ages I bickered about how stupid XIII’s characters are and how the plot makes no sense and the dialogue makes every part of my body scream with horror at witnessing the arch-demon of bad writing. But I was missing the forest for the trees. I didn’t realize that all people want from this series is the fix of some simple romance and some flashy visuals.

With that in mind, I’ve softened on it. There’s really nothing wrong with flashy visuals and cheap romance. We’re quick to defend lazy action games by saying “oh, all I want is some explosions”. Why shouldn’t the same standard apply here?

That’s why I think they should just go all the way. Don’t do high fantasy, do absurd fantasy. As long as the fanservice lands, everyone’s happy. Myself included. XIII exists in the difficult straits between Final Fantasy Island and the People’s Republic of Bishie, and it diminishes the experience. I would take a game consisting of nothing but flashy bishie fawning and rad gameplay over anything else Square-Enix’s Development Team 1 could cook up. And I think that’s okay.

          • Yes, cut the melodrama but have a legitimate dark tone.

The story DOES matter. When Hiranobu Sakaguchi made Final Fantasy, he said didn’t want to make a game, he wanted to tell a story. The most important factor in any RPG is the story.

As for the people who only want pretty visuals and romances, they are parasites. They’re the problem. Square-Enix needs to stop catering to these shallow stupid teens and let them starve.
They have no right to call themselves fans if that’s all they want. As much as I try to defend XIII myself, the reasons I like is and dislike is much more meaningful.

The visuals are nice in XIII but the romance in it is just awful. Instead of exploring more into Lightning as a character, Toriyama wanted another stupid boring cliche heterosexual romance, the kind, that’s already being beating to death, that makes you want to watch the news and witness the horrors that go on in the world around us.

Again, SCREW fanservice and just make Final Fantasy into something magnificent, something glorious, something epic, like a classic epic film, not that stupid internet slang for someone to describe something that person likes.

Please Square, don’t be afraid to go new places. The death of Aerith made a huge impact. I hope one day, that impact will resurface in a new way.

          • amagidyne

No, see, I think you missed my entire point. What I’m saying is that the Square-Enix/Squaresoft Sakaguchi/Uematsu Final Fantasy is dead. It lives on in Mistwalker, sort of, and in the many, many developers it influenced, but the franchise itself is dead.

At the same time, Square-Enix’s Final Fantasy is alive. This is a different franchise. The writers are different. The composers are different. Their greatest character designer left too. No big surprise, then, that the tone, themes, aesthetic and overall everything everything everything is different too. I’m going to use an abbreviation here; FF for the old series and FFN for the new one.

So FFN. The switch-up is a mixed blessing. Most people who feel the way I do about XIII would call it something significantly worse, but that’s unproductive. That’s easy. What you have to recognize is that there is a demand for FFN. People enjoy what it offers. This can be hard to accept. How can people like such terrible drama? Let me answer that with a question: Twilight? Transformers? These are all poorly-made, poorly-written and poorly acted.

But at the same time, they offer something. There’s something in their essence that people enjoy. And in that company, can’t we agree that at least FFN is far from the weakest? The combat is serviceable and at least it isn’t overtly racist and misogynistic. Point being that FFN is, if nothing else, harmless.

Secondly, you have to accept that FF, as stated, is dead. Dead dead dead. The team is scattered. They’re doing other things. FF isn’t coming back. What you’re suggesting is that the FFN team reanimate it. This strikes me as a horrible idea for a number of reasons. The first is that they would be imitating the old guys, not using their own creative voice. The second reason is more obvious.

The FFN team is awful. There’s no way around this. They are the Treyarch to FF’s Infinity Ward. They are the EA to FF’s Origin Systems. They are the… negative example to FF’s good example. Their writings are bad. Every attempt at a story falls flat. Writing a bad story is easy. The FFN team struggles with that task. FFXIII, for example, isn’t a story. It has all the elements of one: characters, places, events. All just noise. Nothing cohesive. You could convince me it was dadaist anti-art if I didn’t know who made it.

What I’m saying isn’t that they shouldn’t make a serious game or that it’s somehow better to be childish than mature. That’s completely insane. What I’m saying is that they can’t do it and that they shouldn’t even try. That sounds harsh and makes me sound like an arrogant dick (both of which are true), but can it really be denied? Do you think Motomu Toriyama could have made Spec Ops: The Line? Deus Ex? I wouldn’t even trust him with Disgaea. I wouldn’t even trust him with porn. Give Toriyama or any of his ilk the reins to a story that deals with real issues, and you’ll get something infinitely repulsive.

Which brings me to the fans you call “parasites”. Strange choice of words there. Aside from the fact that calling everyone who likes something you don’t like (something entirely harmless) a “parasite” is kind of a dick move, a parasite takes and gives nothing back. These “parasites” are just about the only people who buy FFN titles, and the franchise would die off completely if there weren’t enough of them. I don’t know how well Square-Enix is doing, but given all the doom and gloom I’ve heard it could take the entire company down, and then who would publish Drakengard 3?

TL;DR I don’t actually disagree with your estimation of Motomu Toriyama and modern FF, but I don’t think making it more mature is possible with the current staff. You’d need a revolution to fix Square-Enix, and those are illegal. Personally, I’m not going to waste my time being angry about it. If people love the fanservice, let them do that- and play something else.

          • Testsubject909

So… I’ma go find myself a bag of potato chips because I don’t really have any popcorn.

          • Comparing XIII to Twilight and Transformers is just insulting.

I say get rid of Toriyama and let Ito and Nomura handle the franchise.

P.S. Lost Odyssey should’ve had a save between fighting two giant worms and an army.

          • Testsubject909

I’m never against dark themes for Final Fantasy.

But perhaps you want to look backwards…

FF6 for example is a great dark Final Fantasy.

A whole castle filled with people are poisoned to death by rendering their water supplies toxic, people are burned alive to test out their new weaponry in the form of a human being that they’ve basically brainwashed and manipulate like a living puppet. They use the dead carcasses of magic beings to infuse themselves with power, the empire having done so and their first experiment with it causing a powerful but insane magitek knight (Kefka). The world burns and shatters and collapses in on itself as all across the world people die, the greenery turns a permanent yellow, the waters of the world looks sickly, enemies starve themselves to death on land where no food can be found in random encounters (I kid you not. Look up HCBailey’s LP of Final Fantasy 6, he at one point enters a random fight just to show you that the random enemies you fight just starve to death in battle) and the imagery of the land splitting wide open in a massive global quake as it crushes whoever is unfortunate to find themselves in these gaping chasms is…

            Pretty… Fucking… Dark…

            …You know… Final Fantasy 9 had, as one of it’s themes, genocide…

  • hmm, wonder if they are cross save compatible.

  • Kristina Wright

Oh my gosh, I am jumping for joy and screaming my head off as I type this. I am so excited for the inclusion of X-2!!! Definitely can’t wait for a North American release..if I can be patient for that long.

  • KyoyaHibari

Would’ve been ok with just cutscenes from X-2 like what they’re doing with 358/2 Days for KH1.5, but what the hell, that’s still fine. Ironically I’d actually prefer if there was a total revamp of 358/2 in 1.5 compared to this. ~.~

    • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

I don’t know Hibari. For me the gameplay of X-2 was really good (except for the limit breaks). 358/2 could have used a faster gameplay considering the style from Re:coded and Birth by Sleep.

      • Anime10121

Yep, dont know what Hibari’s goin on about, the gameplay was the best part of X-2 (and the best of ANY FF at that), though the rest of the game itself was pretty good too.

  • LDM

I will be honest, I enjoyed FFX-2 battle system a lot. It was fast-paced and exciting.

    • Testsubject909

I should dress up as a religious monk or a priest or something… This comment thread seems to be turning into a confession booth for a ton of people to just pop in and go “I liked FFX-2.”

  • konsama

Is it wrong that im only interested on this now it includes X-2?

    • Testsubject909

No, I’m in the same boat.

I’d get this solely FFX-2, so I’m actually more inclined to get FFX-2 on Vita.

  • Lolita

It said that the X-2 is sold separately with X? So it’s not going to come in one disc or case with X and X-2 together? Actually, I don’t know even if it’s going to be digital or physical copy for the PS3 version but I hope it’s the physical copy because I like having the disc instead

    • The PS3 version will have both the X and X-2 titles, but the Vita version will be sold separately.

      • Lolita

Ah.. that’s good to hear. Thanks for clarifying

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

  • Separate games? BLAH. >_> Make it a dual pack or somethingOh well still cool, and getting both for Vita when they are announced for US (if they aren’t already).

    • Red Veron

Keep in mind that this announcement is for Japan. No telling what they’ll do for US. Remember that they like charging a premium for releases in Japan since the Japanese don’t complain as much and put up with crap like this.

  • AdachiTohru

Good for Vita ! We’ll be able to choose between both.

  • Red Veron

THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR JAPAN. Japanese publishers can get away with stuff a lot more since Japanese consumers can put up with a lot more than us whiny Americans.

This move is probably because that the PS3 has a larger install base and that its cheaper to develop for compared to the newer Vita.

    • Testsubject909

I don’t know… I’ve seen some pretty nasty Japanese folks whining about games online.

I do ever so love to point back to Tales of Vesperia on the 360 back in Japan…

  • Kalis Konig

Yes!! I loved X-2 because it had the best battle system in a ff game imo. it’s what 13’s battle system wishes it could be

    • Anime10121

Yes! If XIII’s battle system was half as good as X-2’s I would’ve loved that game to death, straight line dungeons and all.

  • amagidyne

Love how there are like sixty posts of “I’m the only person who liked X-2!”

This does make me more interested in the release. I never played X-2, but some fluffy and silly fanservice with great combat sounds like a good time.

  • DesmaX

That’s cool. I never played X-2, so this will be my chance.
A game with good battle system is a good game for me

  • So is there news about cross-buy? I mean I would love to have it on both consoles… but to buy it separately… =/

    • Elvick

Meh, I’ll buy it separately. Don’t mind. I’ve done it before. Will continue.

      • Its like like I don’t have a problem with it. But not everyone has the funds to get both.

  • Pombar

I really hope HD Remakes remain in vogue long enough to see an HD Remake of FFXII based on its International Edition. A bit of graphical smoothing would make that look incredible, and the mechanical changes to the game (classes!) reversed my opinion of the game entirely.

    • MrRobbyM

I tried emulating XII International with the English patch about 2 years ago and it looks and played great. I couldn’t get very far though. It kept crashing randomly in towns :/

XII is one of my favorite games so not seeing the international version remastered would be very disappointing.

  • awesome now i dont have to wait for both ;)

  • Nivans

so x-2 will just be port?

    • Syn

I have a weird feeling it might, but hey, we get to capture monsters ala pokemon style due to it being the international version

  • Tanthalas

FFX-2 being included with FFX HD is great news (even if its only for PS3 users, but its ok for Vita players if both games come out as the same price). Its a confirmation that we’ll be getting a FFX-2 HD too.

Hopefully a release date for western territories.

And more importantly, I really really hope we get a FFXII HD too. I’ve seen images of the game runing upscaled, and its simply beautiful. The visuals blow FFX out of the water imo.

EDIT: I wonder if they’ll make an English dub for Th Last Mission portion of FFX-2 International.

    • Testsubject909

I wonder if they’ll redub the whole thing.

  • NightzeroAX

I fell asleep on X-2 literally. However now I look forward to playing it since I’ve read the battle system is pretty good. I must say this is quite the steal Square.

  • davidvinc

Oh wow, I might actually consider buying this for the PS3 now!

    • Testsubject909

If there’s a retail version, probably FFX-2 for Vita.

  • ShadowDivz

I guess the only question left to ask is.

Are you guys getting it for Vita or PS3? Assuming it leaves japan.

    • AdachiTohru

  • HPN

Can’t wait — this will be awesome. Sucks that Squeenix needs to be greedy with the PS3/PS Vita separate sales.

  • Ben Sylvia

  • Kai M

I really hope this sells well so they can get FFXII HD going.

    • Syn

^^ This, oh man, how I would love that

  • Hinataharem

I am 500% ok with this.

    • Testsubject909

Oh hey, haven’t see you in a while.

      • Hinataharem

Believe it or not, I sneak in to the comment section from time to time ;)

  • Seeing Yuna I’m HD, almost a dream come true.

Man, I’m really happy it’s the International versions. And being able to hear “Yuna’s Ballad” and “Eternity~Memory of Lightwaves” again makes me so happy.

  • This made me really happy i loved X-2 and i cant wait for the NA/EU release dates and yes i will also be being these for my vita and then after that hopefully a Realm Reborn :-)

  • Neko Kawaii

Maybe I would have enjoyed FFX2 if the god damn battle system was the same as the original game? I mean if it’s a sequel why change it? That weird real time thing was annoying but apprantly lots of people enjoyed that and hated whatever they hated. The wait option didn’t help either.

    • MrRobbyM

Tell that to XIII-2 and especially XIII: LR

      • Testsubject909

Just abandon all hope ye who enters here. I dropped my expectations of what FF is supposed to be a long while back, knowing those days would never come again.

So I just take what I can enjoy and I leave it at that. I wonder who else here has joined me in no longer regarding a new FF game as something major, but rather as just another game release…

    • That, the visuals being too fanservicey and the OST being TV sports quality ruined it for me.

    • Elvick

… weird real time? Have you never played Final Fantasy pre-X?

It’s just the ATB system, mixed with the Job system. Only made to perfection. Everything about the battle system is perfect.

      • Neko Kawaii

Well it was kind of like my first final fantasy :l, when I saw a majority of FF games were similar to that system I just stuck with my side story games.

    • The battle system is better then FFX, but the story and writing is MUCH, MUCH WORSE!!!

      • Testsubject909

FFX’s story was still filled with a few plot holes, contrivances and stupidity mind you.

At least FFX-2 was far more lighthearted about it.

      • Neko Kawaii

Nuh uh, with FFX I loved getting into battles but I would rather just avoid them in FFX 2….

  • Oh daaang! Just when I conviced myself X-2 isn’t canon.

  • Detrimont

X-2 is HD as well right?

    • Mr_SP

As much as FFX will be, yes.

  • puchinri

Is it also updated? I never got to play it and do want to. I know I’ll have some problems with it, but I also can’t resist magical girl-idol-FF~.

    • No. They’re totally going to try to sell an inferior copy of the game.

  • Wiccan1109

X AND X-2 international? In one package? Wow. I’m really shocked tbh. Although I have varying faves, i have enjoyed every numeral installment and this is just excellent news to me. I’m dreading the price of the PS3 one a little but this is great. My PS2 broke recently and i havent played either in years, so i’ll really have a blast with them later in the year.

  • Mr_SP

Yeah, this is a good explanation for why it’s taking so long.

  • Kelohmello

What the hell? Do I have to pay more to play my game on a vita instead of at home? I better not have to.

    • Mr_SP

Instead? No, certainly not… But they might not have Cross Buy, so you’d have to pay more to play both at home and on a Vita. But let’s hope they do.

  • Nick Sniezek

PS3 version has both FFX and FFX-2? Both are International verions? SOOOOLD!
I’m totally going to get this now.

  • enorka miho

Do you guys think that maybe FFXIII may one day be a good news for I duno.. Re-release for some advance gaming device like FFX-2 would today for PS3? Because I find that many people who somehow hates it, wants to give them a try? Maybe time will seasoned a tittle and change minds of many…. Hahaha.. XD

    • Testsubject909

I don’t really see FFXIII as generally all that good but that’s just me. My opinions on the vast multitude of FF games haven’t changed drastically throughout the years and my attitude towards FFXIII of disdain has changed for a more neutral but still leaning towards a negative point from a clearer understanding of it’s troubled development and the greater nature of the game as a whole.

FFX-2 thankfully doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously and as it can get as balls to the walls stupid as FFXIII does, at least it’s greater emphasis on just having a good time makes it easier to swallow. But hey, that’s my very wide and general take on the issue.

  • Anon-non

Why don’t people realize that X-2, while a terrific game by itself, is nothing more than a long prologue of X rather than a game of its own? That’s why people get disappointed, because people expect it to be this grand epic. I love X-2 because I enjoyed seeing what all the characters (main or otherwise) were up to two years after Sin.
