By Ishaan . March 20, 2013 . 1:35pm

Following this morning’s announcement of a One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 collector’s edition for Europe, Namco Bandai have released a new trailer for the game as well. This is an English version of a trailer we’ve already seen before and you can watch it below:

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 is headed to North America and Europe this Summer. In Europe, the game has a more specific release window of August.

Was it ever said if this’ll be DD only in the US or if we get a disc like Europe and Japan this time? Need to plan accordingly.

    • To be on the safe side, you should pre-order a copy of the EU one, but the game will most likely be DD for you guys in the US.

      • Tsuna Sawada

Is there any real diffrences between the EU and US one? I’m thinking of pre-ordering the EU from amazon

        • No. The only difference is that the EU will have a retail version, unlike the US one (digital only), that’s all.

Edit: Also, that Luffy figurine will be available in the Collectors Edition for the EU.

          • Wappuli

Luffy figure is for collectors edition, not pre-order bonus.
Pre-order bonuses haven’t been revealed yet.

          • Oops! My bad. That was what I meant to say.

        • Testsubject909

          Very personal take here.

The difference for me is that my PS3 is getting old, it has some problems with the digital version of One Piece.

So… For the purpose of just being able to play, I’m better off with a retail.. That and, re-downloading One Piece about 3 times, accumulating a total of 30GB, just to ensure I didn’t have a corrupted install version because of the age and wear of my PS3 causing some minute trouble on a thankfully small selection of games… is painful on the bandwidth.

      • Testsubject909

The painful double dip awaits me. The desire for a retail format is strongest, the desire to support though remains and so. I’m faced with two eventual purchases of the same game in my future.

        • You are one dedicated gamer, my friend! I remember you double dipping for the first one, too. It’s a shame that SCEA takes such a stance with Japanese-only titles albeit a very inconsistent one at that.

          • KnifeAndFork

Yep. Agarest War and Yakuza get free passes

      • Solomon_Kano

Hm. Euro copy it is then. If Namdai ever does a sale for it like they did the first, I’ll grab a DD copy as well.

    • Download only in the US.

  • The Watcher

as long as this game has 1000 people on screen im down. That’s the only reason why i didn’t bother to plat the first one because enemies would only spawn 4 at a time. it was a joke.

    • NTaiyokun

I’ve played the demo via a Japanese PSN account. Hopefully, the SKypiea arc isn’t actually that condensed. However I can promise that you’ll be pounding clouds of enemies FLAT.

      • Vita version? Ohhhh yeah that’s right >_>

        • NTaiyokun

No. It was actually PS3 version. Unless the US demo was released behind my back.

    • Testsubject909

I’m just hoping that the enemy A.I. takes some of the aggressiveness of the enemy A.I. from DW7E.

    • ah, it was actually around 20-40 enemies at the screen in many zones.

  • KnifeAndFork

ugh the PSN version of the first game went back up in price from $25 to $50. I didn’t know they’d do that.

  • Hyosuke575

Can anyone tell me based on the first game, if I import the physical copy from Europe, will I still be able to do use the DLC released in the US? Or is that the drawback of importing?

    • Hinataharem

      DLC is region locked

  • Spirit Macardi

Looks like I’ll be waiting until this comes down in price.

I’m sorry, but when you neglect to add an English voice track even though there’s an official cast that’s cheap to hire, I can’t bring myself to pay full price.

  • TheGreatWormSpirit

There’s been zero words coming out of Namco Bandai America about this game. It’s not even anywhere on their official website. Ridiculous considering all they have to do is upload to the PSN store.

  • Göran Isacson

Interesting. Looks like they’re taking on some kind of AU-story here that mixes both post- and pre-timeskip story factors. Luffy losing his crew and teaming up with supernovas, Whitebeard and Aokiji to fight Blackbeard and the marines? Now THAT is a fight I can get behind.

  • komiko12

Interesting. The AU story is intriguing and I imagine that it will showcase nakama power and prove that Luffy is the strongest among the Strawhats.

  • WyattEpp

Wow, now that’s an effective trailer. I don’t even LIKE Dynasty Warriors games (in fact, quite the opposite), and I kind of want to get it.
