What Is Lara Croft: Reflections?

Square Enix Europe have filed a trademark for something titled Lara Croft: Reflections in the U.S., Siliconera has discovered.

The natural assumption would be that this is some sort of upcoming story DLC for Tomb Raider, but in a recent Q&A on Reddit, Tomb Raider global brand director Karl Stewart stated that all upcoming DLC for the game will be multiplayer-focused.

“There are currently no plans in place for any Single Player expansions,” Stewart shared. “All of our DLC is based around the Multiplayer experience for now.”

“For now,” however, means that single-player DLC is still a possibility in the future. Perhaps Lara Croft: Reflections is some sort of side-story or epilogue? In a recent interview with Siliconera, Crystal Dynamics creative director Noah Hughes shared that he feels there’s still room to do more things with Lara after the end of Tomb Raider.

“In this story, we’re working on re-imagining and re-architecting Lara’s character first and foremost, but then we bring her off of the island and back out into the world, and we get to resolve more things beyond the island as it relates to Lara’s backstory and things like that,” Hughes said.

Maybe a handheld title for 3DS or Vita?

  • Rihawf

Could also be the return of the Doppelganger for multiplayer, you never know lol

A downloadable title, perhaps? Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light would suggest that possibility remaining opening.

I was actually thinking that too.

It’s a social card game. Like Cinderella Girls.
With 200 cards of Lara Croft in different poses.

I haven’t played multi yet but I assume it’s quite fun. Single player expansion would be the best, like Sleeping Dogs’ Year of the Snake.. I liked TR so much I just got the artbook (even though the game has a gallery, but I can’t unlock all the arts anyway)

If it follows the example of Assassins Creed and Uncharted, it could very well be a portable spinoff.

  • Sounds like movie.

  • Wii U Edition?
