Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have released a first trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut for the Wii U. As previously detailed, the Director’s Cut version includes overhauled boss fights, better enemy AI, improved visuals, off-TV play on the Wii U GamePad and a bunch of other features. Watch the trailer below:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut will be released in 2013.

Update: The original headline for this report stated that Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut wouldn’t be released until 2014. However, Square Enix clarified to Siliconera via e-mail that there was a typo in their press release this morning. The game will be available in 2013.

    I saw a PR that replaced 2014 with 2013. 2014 doesn’t make any sense

    • I like how the trailer in this article says “COMING SOON” near the end, too. If it really is 2014, I just gotta say: 2014 isn’t -that- soon to me.

    • Oh? I’ll follow up with Square Enix. There may have been a typo in their press release.

edit: You were right. Typo in Square’s PR. Post updated! Thanks.

2014? Is that really smart marketing to show it off now then? That’s a long enough wait that any Wii U owner who really wants to play it can just pick it up for another console (assuming they have one), which will kill excitement except for among hardcore fans. The additions are nice, but not worth waiting a year to play the game for.

At least it was apparently a typo when it said 2014 lol

  • I’m not sure how I feel about this. I personally loved HR, and easily found it my goty for 2011. The problem though is that people were already overlooking this due to the usual “ohmagawd, old game is old!” thing. Seems like waiting for a 2014 release would only make this even worse. =

  • The trailer just says “Coming Soon” not 2014…I hope that was a mistake, because I’m not sure how many people would be willing to wait an extra year for this, as cool as the improvements sound.

    • Square’s press release explicitly says 2014.

    Uhh…that’s not good…

2014 is way too long. You want this game to come out during the holiday 2013 season to get all the Wii U owners buying the game over the holidays.

    …………. What….?

Darn it, we need more awesome Wii U games this year, not next year :<

… Well, actually we do need some awesome games next year too, but let's fill up the awesome count for 2013 first before focusing on 2014.

2014? That’s strange. For some reason I was pretty sure it was coming out in May.

i think something is not right with this

  • DCBlackbird

Nothing wrong with the game but the voice in this trailer was overselling it imo

lol he sounded kind of bored
