Too bad Super Metroid’s gonna be 30 cents in May for Wii U owners, so if you own a Wii U, you should probably skip this unless if you REALLY want to play it!

Mario 64′s cool though, and it’s always neat to have 3D Classics available.

    • Zonic505

Not to mention the Wii U VC version will have the Off-TV Play and save states, where as you’ll have to spend about $1.50 (if I recall correctly) to upgrade a Virtual Console game on Wii via Wii Menu app to the Wii U version. I’m just gonna wait for next month to get Super Metroid.

  • Mir Teiwaz

It feels like an odd choice to have Super Metroid for free when it’s gonna be 30 cents for the WiiU down the road a little more.

Nice to see Super Mario 64 on there though.

  • ragingmerifes

I wish I had this many coins to buy Super Metroid. I never finished it.

I’ve got the coins needed for Kirby’s Pinball Land…might get that. I remember playing it as a kid, though I sunk waaay more hours into Pokemon Pinball. They should release Pokemon Pinball onto the eShop.

Super Metroid needs to be on my 3DS, not my Wii.

    • http://twitter.com/Nates4Christ Nate

Good point. I played it on my psp and had a blast. It’s a great game for a handheld.

      • http://twitter.com/ValeFalkren Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

        psp?

        • Shane Guidaboni

          Emulation.

          • http://twitter.com/ValeFalkren Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

Well aware but seriously handhelds and disks? No.

    • Zonic505

Being able to buy SNES games on 3DS would be awesome

      • Tg

        Yes! I want to (re)buy a lot of SNES/64 games on the 3DS! I don’t have a Wii. Nintendo is not getting the potentiality here… Every game survey I do for them, I keep asking for SNES/64 games. =,=;

      Correction:
Super Metroid needs to be on your 3DS, AND your Wii! :D

    • Cazar

My exact thoughts when I first saw this. Really tired of all the good Nintendo Club downloads being Wii only.

      Amen

    • Shane Guidaboni

While 41 likes isn’t a lot, I hope Nintendo realizes that people actually want a portable version of Super Metroid. The ideal situation would be an entirely new 2D Metroid on the 3DS. I still hold onto hope that this will someday happen. The dual screens are perfect for a 2D Metroid.

Speaking of Super Mario 64. Does anyone else think the game should be remade? I can’t really go back to the game with the controls being so terrible and I think it would be nice to play it with a new coat of paint.

A spiritual successor of sorts would be great too.

    • Space_Ghost

They need to make the Wii U Super Mario game a spiritual successor to Super Mario 64. I loved Galaxy, but Mario 64 is legendary for a reason.

      • MrRobbyM

It’s legendary because the game feels so big and connected unlike the newer games where it’s very streamlined and divided.

    • http://linkapics.tumblr.com/ Linka

You mean… Super Mario 64 DS? Unless if you can’t stand to play it with how it’s controls are. Which is understandable! But it had a pretty great graphical upgrade (seriously, play the DS version, and then 64– the difference is shocking) and had new levels and stars, so it’s not like they didn’t remake it…!

      • MrRobbyM

I completely forgot that existed and I even played it a bit of it! Yeah, I think the controls for the DS one are even worse, but that’s just me. I did notice the graphical upgrade. Noticeable but nothing to write home about.

Well, so the next best thing would be a spiritual successor to the original 64 game since a remake is out of the question now.

  • Era Angelus

Holy smokes… I want all of those! Hope I have enough!

  • Jordan Ortiz

Super Mario 64 and Super Metroid. 2 amazing games but sadly not on the 3ds, I’m going to have to dust off my wii it seems.

  • Kaihedgie

    I want Pinball Land back ;.;

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    3D Classics: Urban Champion..for the 100th time

    • Haseyo

Yeah I’m really, really tired of seeing it.

  • http://www.segalization.com/ Kuronoa

Super Metroid is a no-go due to Wii U copy having a better deal.
Tempted on Mario 64, but I rather get games I haven’t had before.

I’ll wait next batch for the next 3DS ones.

  • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

Never played the original version of SM64… kind of tempted to get that. But on the other hand, I’m also tempted to wait another month and see if they put out anything I would prefer (e.g. Mario Golf 64, Super Mario/Wario Land, Punch-Out 3D, Star Fox).

  • Ben Sylvia

I wish Super MEtroid was downloadable for 3DS. :(

  • Theofratus ‘Geese’ Lester

Just waitin’ for Nintendo to break the rumor about emulatin’ TurboGrafx-16 games. But that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna buy other Virtual Console games on the Nintendo eShop when they come out.
