Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D To Have A New World

Recommended Videos

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D has a special new mode that is optimized for portable play, Nintendo announced this morning. Where the Wii version was optimized for longer play sessions, the 3DS version has had its difficulty adjusted in this new mode.

In the new mode, both Donkey and Diddy have three hearts each instead of two. Additionally, you’ll get items like the Portable DK Barrel (calls Diddy out at any time) and the Green Balloon (floats you back up once if you fall off the stage).

You’ll have the option of playing Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D in both its original mode as well as new mode. The game will also have eight new levels set in a new world that you’ll only be able to access after clearing the rest of the game.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is scheduled for release on May 24th in North America. The game will have local co-op multplayer for up to two players.
