Ragnarok Online 2 is going into beta in North America this week. The beta will begin at noon on Thursday, April 18th and continue through Monday, April 22nd.

The goal for this period is to find out how well the servers handle load and final tweaks to the language in the game. You can download the beta client here. Visit the game’s official website here.

Ragnarok Online 2 is being handled in North America by Warp Portal, which is Gravity’s own North American online games portal.

I tried that game, the control was really bad and combat for normal monsters was way too long…

Mouse clicking controls are normal for PC Games
If you think those controls are bad, You’d probaly hate most of the PC games from the 80s
There is a series called King’s Quest from Sierra the publisher of Half Life
The first 5 games, you have to specifically type in the commands for what you want the character to do

to the person who voted down this post, if you misread it and assumed I was attacking the King’s Quest series, I was not as it was and still is one of my favorite series’

played the SEA beta, the game is pretty mediocre and the servers went down daily, along with constant “emergency maintenance”. I played RO for years, but even those glasses weren’t tinted enough to keep me going past level 40

    • Jezzy

My thoughts exactly… Shame that they slapped the RO brand on a very generic MMO and called it a day. After all these years of development no less. The fact that they replaced Prontera’s theme with forgettable elevator music just sealed the deal.

  • John Lawson

Open beta launched during January, is this a beta-beta?

    • Different region.

    • Seizui

Yeah, they had us stress test the game and was like ‘thanks for testing the game, now you are not able to play. Asia only! Thanks again! :D’

  • Protos_Heis

    All of my yes

    • jordanbobordan

don’t get your hopes up, it is just a hub hallway. It could not be less like Ro

  • Raltrios

Thought about giving this a try, as I’ve only ever played one MMO before. Worth a shot?

    • Xerain

well it’s free to try and will be F2P model. It is a bit dated though, and should be though of in terms of a game a few years old as it was caught in development hell forever.

  • HerosLight

I played the full version, didn’t like it one bit, and nothing caught my interest to keep playing it.

Classic R.O remains the best for me.

  • NightzeroAX

I will not play a WoW clone. Project R is more promising.

    • $36598391

Ragnarok Online is not a WoW Clone
It’s a point and click MMO like Ultima Online but with an anime feel to it

      • Jezzy

RO2 is not a point and click, unlike the original.

      • CobbleCake

In the world of troll MMO everything is a wow clone ᕦ(。⊿° )ᕤ

        • $36598391

Which is pathetic because there are many MMOs that came out years before World of Warcraft

  • harmonyworld

I played it a bit, it was simple and easy to understand and get into.
    I stopped because…I didn’t feel like playing

  • Ladius

I could give it a chance in the future, even if I doubt it could trump the original RO in my heart.

  • foopy

I will give it a shot. I played Gate of the World in beta and thought it was ok. I hear this is basically RO1 in the GotW skin, so we’ll see how that goes.

  • Sergio Briceño

The fact that I had to wait 5-7 years for this and Ring Earth Zero, made their NA service announcements completely irrelevant to me. Moved on to better games.

  • greedisgood

I don’t like it , boring end game , cannot player kill ,small world and bug everywhere

  • Learii

great timing I just got my gaming pc so I might try it out

  • Strid

Almost a year later and a terrible game too boot. If it ain’t broke…

  • Ehren Rivers

Weird. I tried downloading the beta, but every time I run the program it runs into massive errors and can’t continue downloading the packages. Anyone else have this problem? Am I supposed to just keep trying? I’m all signed up, really, and I tried re-downloading the installer a number of times.

  • Mithfalath

I just tried it on the SEA and it’s… pretty MEH. After ALL the years of waiting, they came up with this? It doesn’t even feel any Ragnarok-ish at all. I could understand if it was in another title but damn!

  • Xaxal_Ravenguard

And people will/should still play the original RO over this.
