You Can Now Browse Nintendo’s Miiverse From PCs And Mobiles

By Ishaan . April 24, 2013 . 7:12pm

A web-based beta version of Nintendo’s Miiverse social network is now accessible via the PC and mobile devices. You can access the network at this link: https://miiverse.nintendo.net/

Since this web version of Miiverse is currently in beta, not all features are available yet, including the ability to make new posts in a community, send and receive messages, send/receive friend requests, and follow/unfollow users. In short, at the moment you’re limited to browsing the Miiverse, unless you access it via a Wii U. In fact, can only create a Miiverse account from a Wii U at the moment.

Nintendo will also be bringing the Miiverse to the Nintendo 3DS at some point.

Woah, that was f*** quick. This was posted on their FB like 14 minutes ago O_O
This is kind of cool, although I don’t own a Wii U yet…

The only thing this has going for is the fact that you can check the japanese Miiverse regardless of the region of your Wii-u, which means you can enter the niconico community which is basically Pixiv.

Jesus. I’ll never figure out how people manage to draw so well with the stylus. I can never do it. Even on SwapNote a lot of my friends make really cool drawings, but I can never do it. I’m actually decent at drawing with a pencil and paper, but the lack of friction on touch screens makes it very difficult for me to draw on those.

Thank goodness drawing on Colors! 3D and learning from other people’s drawing skills through playback made me a little above average at art.

Did you win the Wii U contest yet in Colors? Hmm?

Have you tried drawing with a sheet of thin paper on the touchscreen? My drawing tablet is also slippery, so that’s how I use it when I want precision.

One thing I don’t understand is how could people draw so well on their Miiverse post, extremely detailed too w/ shadows and everything, I’m very impressed.. I just can’t draw very well on the controller, it’s kinda like etch and sketch.. I only made like 2 posts so far, one for Mario, and drew a pic of Glenn and Maggie on Youtube after watching Walking Dead Season 2 lol..

Good sir, how do I join?

Works on all my devices except for the 3DS (lack of HTML5 support maybe). My favorite, Miiverse PS Vita ;)

Works on the PSV but not the 3DS. That must be the most ironic thing I’ve ever seen.

Nice, now to find that legendary earthbound thread… or does someone here already have a link to it?

  • CirnoLakes

    Hey, that’s pretty cool.

It isn’t often Nintendo does anything of any sort for stuff that isn’t explicitly Nintendo hardware and software.

  • SupaPhly

hmm, being able to post from the website kinda spoils the fun of miiverse for some reason, but I’m not sure why

  • Zonic505

It still amazes me that despite all this awesome artwork on the Miiverse (which I can now easily look at via PC, huzzah), Nintendo STILL hasn’t done a Mario Paint-esque game. It’d work perfectly with the Wii U’s gamepad. Imagine how much cooler the drawings would be with so many more options.

    Nice Work Nintendo!
Now when can i get on using my 3DS?
