I hate whenever they bring up the 80 characters thing. They fail to mention that quite a few of those are like 5 Naruto and 3 Kakashi or whatever.

Well, the same is happening to the Dragon Ball series. Budokai Tenkaichi 3 has 130+ characters and there are like 5 different Goku versions (not counting super forms, each being a character). These play different enough to have them as different characters, so I think it’s okay to say “80 characters”

With jacket and without jacket = 2 characters….. Brilliant!!!

    Actually 13 characters.

I`m not in a position right now where I can watch this, I gotta remember to do so later. But regarding the characters. I definitely think that too many slots are used on the same character (tons of Naruto`s, Sasuke`s and Gaara`s), and that there are other characters that would be way more interesting to play as. I mention: Chiriku (Asuma`s buddy), Anko and Guren among others (even though Guren is a filler character, it`d be cool to get to play as her all the same).
And some character spots are really just pointless. Seriously, does anyone ever play as Chiyo?

I`m also dissapointed that they censor all the good stuff. I mean, turn Kisame`s death into a pathetic little splash? What the actual F…?!

I think it’s probably important to consider that there’s more to developing a character than ensuring they “have a slot” on the character select screen. Just because they eliminate multiple versions of Naruto, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it would add up to another complete character.

For example, between art assets and voice acting alone, there’s probably tens of thousands of dollars difference between doing a third version of Naruto or creating a completely seperate character.

Not that you’re wrong, or anything. I’d certainly love to eventually see a Storm game with close to the complete cast represented, like Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for DBZ.

I love the president of CyberConnect2. Hiroshi just seems like a fun guy, and listens to the fans =)

      No he doesnt!

Yeah most of them do. I don’t know why in contrast most developers outside Japan sounds so pretentious and arrogant when addressing the fans or the media…

Yeah he’s why the company is successful, devoted to the product and fans

  • Spirit Macardi

I would give anything for the CC2 president to wear that costume and say: “I couldn’t have done it without the Rower!” XD

They could’ve cut back on the duplicate characters, I wanted to play as Ringo

Storm 3 had a good single player but the vs part is pretty shallow, well I guess its for the hardcore naruto fans who isn’t very good at fighting games an just wanna mash it out with there fav naruto character still my fav naruto games will always be the clash of ninja series mainly CONR3 anyways keep up the good work on the storm games.

I think it`s fairly obvious that it`s a low-budget game altogether. If you imagine the Naruto universe remastered to be on scope with World of Warcraft (ingame), we`re looking at a pathetic excuse for “free roam” or “exploration”, really limited to a handful of little screens that are as exploreable as my pocket.

Still, the combat is fairly enjoyable. It`s a shame that you can`t really play team-battles online without having crazy lag though, and loading screens are WAY too prominent. For all its flaws though, I was able to squeeze 50 hours out of adventure mode (which I enjoyed even though it could`ve been executed SO much better with higher budget and better ideas / designers), and I`ve had quite a lot of fun with VS mode too.

while i do enjoy the game..it hasnt been balanced since it was 2D on ps2, and when it comes to fighting it is farrrr more shallow than the old games.. many old recordings of high level players playing ultimate ninja 5-2 on youtube show that.
