  • Post the Nico Link. Has properframerate. GO SPEED!

  • AnimeLeirus .

    Looks AMAZING!

  • NOW we’re talking. A game, and a game I am excited for no less. Can’t wait!

  • Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt

  • vileBrenman

    Mwhahaha. Finally!

  • When this popped up I bet everyone at the event went absolutely mental

    • Sakurazaki

I was on stream and it really blew up, lol. I can’t imagine how the event went.

    • KuchikiSentou

Of all these people MarlinPie would have been most mental. Myself included.

    • Oniros

      We are not worthy.

  • Kaitsu

Time to sum up everyone’s thoughts:

  • Millia Rage looked amazing there and the brief look at Venom was great. Have to get used to Sol Badguy’s voice, kind of prefer the old one

I can’t wait to see Dizzy and Bridget!

    • Mostly because he used to be voiced by Daisuke Ishiwatari, the director of the games. I’ll miss his voice.

      • Ahh yeah i forgot about that

Guilty Gear was his first game he made after graduating

      • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

But dood, it’s Kotomine Kirei(Fate / stay night). He also did Sol’s voice in that crappy 360 exclusive Overture.
He is a ridiculously famous VA

    • Venom? no that was Eddie aka Zato-1 I believe.

      • Ah right been awhile since I played

    • Zeik56

Milia is my favorite character, but I’m not sure I like her new look. Hopefully there will be alternate costumes.

      • Yeah i noticed that too, she must’ve joined an organization or something

  • roockie112

I Just pray it isn’t for wii u arcades or next gen console

    • Brandonmkii

Definitely arcades. Console release? Way too early to tell.

      • roockie112

Yeah I guess we will be seeing this game in 2015 then

        • Brandonmkii

It really depends on when it’s coming out in arcades. Maybe a mid 2014 release for console? Assuming it’ll be out by the end of this year for arcades.

      • endaround

Its Unreal. The chance it doesn’t move to consoles is super slim.

        • Brandonmkii

Well yeah, I suppose I should have worded that better. I meant which console :p

          • Zeik56

I think the PS4 is almost a certainty. Beyond that it may be up in the air, although most likely the Next-Box as well, if their architecture is as similar as we being led to believe.

  • Mavalex

    Sol’s gotten buffer
Ky got dat saber hair now
    Hype Hype Hype Hype Hype
    (/end haiku.exe)
    also dust-loops, son!

    • Binah Moore

im glad im not the only one who noticed that lil dust loop action

  • DesmaX

Wow, I’m really impressed by the graphics. Games like this and AA5 really manage to put the charm of 2D sprites on a 3D game… Now I want Disgaea 5 to be fully 3D.

Oh well, didn’t really play that much of Blazblue, and I enjoyed from what I played. And, of course, I remember playing a PC port of some Guilty Gear game, so I would buy this game.

  • I told a friend, “Unreal Engine, WTF?!” so weird to have that engine for a supposedly 2D fighter :D

    • DemonKingAsura

The newest Mortal Kombat and the Injustice Gods among us game used the unreal engine.

      • Zeik56

Yeah, but the graphics in those games definitely weren’t remotely as impressive. Those games pretty much look like what you would expect an Unreal fighter would look like.

      • Fair enough, but though both are 2d gamers, Injustice looks and uses 3D graphics everywhere, whereas this game from what we can see is 95% 2D in its visuals.

  • Alexander Marquis Starkey

    Nico Nico Douga video,

Definitely looks a lot better than on Youtube.

  • JustThisOne

Wow, wow, wow. Now, this is how 2D sprites should move on to 3D! Didn’t even notice until the angle change. This is a fantastic way of keeping the charm of 2D animation, while still moving on to less costly 3D models.

Although, in this case, I wonder if it really is less costly. xD It looks fancy as all hell!

(Psst psst. I hope SNK is taking notes. I’d love to play KoF this way, if the next one’s in 3D.)

    • Kaitsu

Well, I wouldn’t want to to be like this for everything. I still do love traditional sprites. KoF got my love because of that. Believe it or not, they actually used 3D models before turning them into sprites. I think that’s the same for BlazBlue as well.

      • Nah blazblue’s is more in the traditional style, this new GG is modeled similarly to KoF but a bit more stylized. I’m expecting a high animation quality like KoF XIII too.

        • Actually they do trace over 3d models for BlazBlue. They even have concept art on it on the game’s Gallery mode.

      • JustThisOne

Ooh ooh! Yeah! They use the 3D models as references, and just sprite over them.

But my little in-brackets note was just because I overheard from another poster, @Tee Niitris, that SNK was hiring new staff for some 3D work. So I was saying, if the next one happened to be 3D, it’d be great to see them go this style. This way, they don’t lose much of it’s spritework charm.

But yeah, I totally agree with you. I do enjoy 2D work better. I just think it’d be easier on the costs.

      • Fidelis

Well in this case you can barely tell the difference (Well, you can..but the style is basically thre same) and they dont have to draw each sprite, so I’d totally understand if they started making games like this

  • This is one of the greatest announcements made! I have been pining for this for so very long! This is a great step forward for 2D sprites. Daisuke must been holding out for this and he has delivered!

  • That Millia at the end made my heart explode~<3
Game is looking absolutely fantastic, I love the 3D parts in this video, very clean and sexy as hell~

  • Fidelis

    Hold me
How long have I waited for this day
    Since before middleschool

    this wish
PREDATES my wish of seeing laharl return as main character

    • Ni

best year for the hype train industry

    • Daniel

That wish has been fullfilled unto us….Ishiwatari is a god.

    • Daniel

Amen….Ishiwatari has heard our plea for this special moment!

  • XypherCode

Light cel-shading with frame-per-action sequencing still makes it look like they used hand-drawn sprites. And that’s not a bad thing! Bravo to ArcSys!

Great use of 3D modelling with an impressive 2D facade. I can’t wait too see what the next-generation BlazBlue would look like. :)

  • Zonic505

I’m seriously liking this new trend of making 3D models look like 2D artwork. This is an AWESOME example of it looking great. Could’ve fooled me into thinking it was sprites.

    • Shane Guidaboni

I thought it was 2D HD sprites! Looks fantastic! Capcom, take note.

    • Juan Andrés Valencia

      You’ll probably love 009 Re Cyborg 3D.

That isn’t hand drawn animation :O

  • Vitonofrio del Rosso

CAN I HAVE THIS NOW? or tomorrow? can i?!?!?!

    • I know right, it’s been forever

  • MrTyrant

    My face this morning:

  • Solomon_Kano

I’ve been waiting for this since elementary school. My childhood is ready.

  • ndjn3979

    About damn time.

    New costumes! Teh Awesome

    • Zeik56

I expect plenty of alternate costumes now that it’s 3D. Even if it ends up costing more than the game to get them all.

  • konsama

Time to unrust, need epic fights and more Ishiwatari F’kin awesome OST’s.

    And dat Millia.

  • Keima88

    *high pitched fanboy scream*

  • Mecha_the_Hedgehog

My Jaw dropped this is awesome Capcom and SNK have better be taking notes. Now this is how you transition from 2D drawn sprites to 3D models. I cant wait for this to come out.

Screw E3 there is no announcement that can top this for me.

  • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

love that its getting a reboot. When AS said they were working on a new fighter for next gen I never expected this! Or is this just icing on the cake?
Can’t say I like the new art style as much, but WTH it’s an HD guilty gear!

    • Solomon_Kano

This isn’t a reboot though. This is also separate from their next-gen game, since they said the next-gen game would be a new series.

      • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

Perhaps a poor choice of word, but you knew what I meant. To me it is a reboot though, its not the same style of game. Its like the difference between MVC2 and MVC3. Art style is different too, I would wager it is a different artist, or a change in style since the characters look recognizable, but different.
Not trying to argue, just trying to explain my choice in words. And really the last 4 or 5 games have still been X2 with slightly changed game mechanics and more colors added. Since that came out in 2002, and it has been 11 years since an actual sequel, it is a reboot to me.

        • Solomon_Kano

I certainly understand where you’re coming from with your clarification, but in your original comment I had no way of knowing if you actually believed this to be a reboot or what.

While the last several games are really extensions of the same entry, I don’t know that the length of time between actual sequels is enough to classify this as a reboot. Same continuity, same story, same characters, same mechanics. Just a (looong overdue) sequel.

        • Arcana Wiz

But a reboot it’s like with tomb raider and devil may cry: They completely throw away the existing story and make a new with different settings, art and some minor changes in the apperance and personality of the characters to appeal to a new crowd, this is likely a sequel like blazblue CT to CS.

          • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

Well with BlazBlue it is all just one game, there are no actual sequels since the games are all the same one like GG. The “sequels” for BB are all just minor tweaks again, and occasionally adding new characters, but sadly nothing else has changed. This is what AS is famous for, and will be seen again in the next gen. It’s like the crap Capcom does with Street Fighter, make some small tweaks to mechanics, slap on a new title and sell it at full price as a new game.

          • Arcana Wiz

With this comment it was clear that you do not know much ASW and BB, because as has already been written on the site value of each new character and work and do sprites in 2d, besides the story and each title contains and the free patch that was CS2 with these “small tweaks”

        • Zeik56

Just because they’ve been releasing the same game with slight tweaks for years doesn’t mean a game that a slightly bigger leap is a “reboot”.

Overture could be considered a reboot, as it was a drastic change of the formula. This still clearly plays like a Guilty Gear game though. It’s simply a sequel.

      • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

To further the point, see Wiki, considers them all part of XX

  • Words cannot describe my hype for this.. I really excited to see Guilty Gear again doing something new. I hope they made Bridget manly in this instead of making him looking like Catholic Priest bait.

    • Zeik56

But that kind of defeats the whole point of Bridget. Although it would be pretty hilarious to see a grown up manly Bridget…but he still wears the catholic school girl outfit.

      • Ah I see what your saying.. Also yeah that would be funny to see.

  • Göran Isacson

Shouldn’t that be “I go where there ARE bounties”, not “wherever they’re bounties?”

And now that I’ve gotten my obligatory moment of anal pickyness out of the way OOOOOH SNAP SOOONNNNNN NEW GUILTY GEAR. Gonna see Bridget again. Gonna see ~Slayer~ again. GONNA SEE FAUST AGAIN I am ready. All of me. It is all ready. It’s got buttrock soundtrack and a dude who sounds like a Japanese Chad Kreuger and apparently the Statue of Liberty has been decapitated in GG world and Ellis Island turned into a desert and while I have to admit that I thought the change looked really weird (second I saw those strangely grainy “sprites” I thought to myself something was off) by the third rewatch they were just looking fab. Also, Millia is looking GOOD gurl. Wonder if the color change is symbolic of something, and if her feud with Venom is still ongoing or if they’re chill with one another by now. And I wonder, I truly truly do wonder, if this will be the 2.5D game that truly starts having crazy morphing fighters since Capcom said they were having such issues with that.

    • “there’re” if you’re trying to relate his speech.

    • Typos can happen when you are super hyped while typing down the translation~

  • Shane Guidaboni

HOLY! HDF:KNAS:KDGAS:DKFJH!!!!! That’s what I did when I saw this announcement. Then rainbows poured out of my mouth.

  • nice art!!!!

this is great1! since I never got into the Blaazblue thing.

I’ve always liked GG’s theme and story better

  • Ni

Ok hype…you have got me…with all your power this time….

F YEAAAHHHH!!!!! Dude! i’m hyped as f for this. GG was the first fighter that made me learn about all that technical stuff that fighting games have (i think it was in 2005 and i was only 10, i had a blast playing XX for the first time on a friend house). You have my money ArcSys you have my goddanmit money!

And Jouji Nakata is voicing Sol? Can we get amazing pictures of Nero Chaos Vs Adol Christin in GG style?

Goddanmit I need to chill out and control my hype *repeat the trailer infinity times*

  • Tales_of_Master

I don’t believe this is being developed on Unreal engine of all engines. Looks too good for Unreal to be honest. But at least this confirms a console release, and the fact the trailer is subbed confirms an international release…..not that there was any doubt to begin with however.

    • Zeik56

Just shows what can be done if developers actually make an effort. Nobody would have guessed Fallout 3 and Catherine ran on the same engine just by looking at them.

      • Actually no, I just checked because I knew it was too good for Catherine.
        Same with Fallout 3
        They both use Gamebryo.

        • Zeik56

…I know they both use Gamebryo, that was the entire point.

          • SoundMatch

When I read your first post it seems like you are saying that Catherine+Fallout 3 runs on Unreal. I thought it was as well. But I think we get it now lawl.

    • Oniros

Would you say, it looks Unreal?

    • TheRealMalek

Unreal engine is an incredible SDK, it isn’t really well used by many developpers but the graphic engine is nearly flawless.

What i’m afraid of is… the network engine :/

      • Scallion

That’s what real face-to-face matches are for. Accept no scrubstitutes.

        • TheRealMalek

Agreed but being able to face new opponent via network is awesome if well done.

  • Istillduno

Wow, never thought I’d like to see GG done with 3D models but damn, those things just look like really high res sprites.

Kind of worried for the characters with moves which morph into things (like Eddie’s shadow thing ect.) since I heard that was harder to do using 3D, but other then that, this is looking nice.

    • Scrooge_McDuck

Yea, the morphing elements are what I’m most concerned about. Millia, Dizzy, Eddie…

Since they’re already doing frame-per-action sequencing, I guess they could do the morphing sequences frame-per-frame. But that would be resource hogging and be even more impractical than doing it with sprites.

      • Zeik56

Well Millia is obviously still in it with her morphing hair, so I wouldn’t be too worried. If they didn’t think they could handle it I would expect they would just leave her out.

        • Scrooge_McDuck

          But this looks bad, man.

          I’ll reserve judgment, obviously.

          • Zeik56

That’s obviously not in-game animation anyway, but I still don’t see the problem.

          • Scrooge_McDuck

It looks more like a flowing sheet of cloth. I’am rather worried about the 3D rendering capability to replicate something like these.

          • Zeik56

I thought you meant the animation. That seems pretty nitpicky to me. It’s obviously not going to look identical to that because it’s not sprites, but it still looks perfectly consistent with the game’s graphics.

I mean it’s not like that looks or even animates like real hair either, it’s just unrealistic in its own way. Look at the end of that second animation. Her hair could easily be mistaken for a cape.

          • Scrooge_McDuck

Oh, I do meant the animation. Notice the change of “volume” in the gifs. Notice the additional strands appearing and swirling. In comparison, the one in the Xrd trailer stays the same width and only seems elongated.

Maybe it’s nitpicky. I dunno. I absolutely love morphing elements in video game sprites. A love Darkstalker’s Victor occasional shifts in texture. I love BlazBlue’s Arakune ever-pulsing black mass. I love the monstrous transformation’s of Skullgirls’s Samson.

These are things I am pessimistic they could emulate with current 3D technology. Heck, even Dhalsim’s elongated arm is allegedly the hardest thing to do in SFIV.

          • Replicating those kind of effects? There are definitely going to be things lost between mediums, especially 2D animation vs 3D simulating 2D. Especially certain types of visual quality. There was a big loss when Capcom started using particle effects instead of hand drawn sprite effects for each character’s special moves in CVS2.

Make no mistake, one major part of this decision of ArkSys and others is that it’s effective as a cost cutting ceasure. Many companies are going to do this, but as for whether or not we’re talking “better or worse”, I remember some promo about Marvel vs Capcom 3 where it was said “We can’t do this in 3D.” It was later revealed certain characters can’t be implemented because their animations would be too complex to be feasible or would take up too much RAM. I think letting both styles coexist would be great, but good business sometimes means tricking people who are oblivious to what they might want.

“Arcades are obsolete, but I will play arcade style games.”

As much as I like real 2D, I don’t think folks overseas are willing to foot the cost and I think ArcSys recognizes that and came up with a decent compromise. That doesn’t even touch on the perception of 2D vs 3D as a graphics medium. 2D is treated with sort of backhanded antiquity. Most only accept it with labels like “retro.” That’s how it is.

We’ve yet to see what they, ArcSys, have up their sleeves with characters like the assassins, so I think it’s okay to just be excited now and worry about how characters like Zato/Eddie are going to animate, along with Millia, later. I don’t happen to think it’s nitpicking, but I also don’t happen to think people have much of an ear when we’re so trained on the idea of “best” or “optimal” in both directions.

I say give them a bit of a chance for now, things aren’t going to be exactly how they were… but who knows, maybe you might like it? Or at the very least, maybe it’ll keep the idea of this type of game alive just a little longer?

          • Scrooge_McDuck

Oh, I very much agree with everything you say. Don’t get me wrong; it’s not like “THE GAME IS RUINED FOREVER”! The game continuing is a great thing. The 3D actually looks pretty convincing. And they still keeps the rock and metal motif. It has many things to love. It’s just that I also love dynamic sprite transformations very much and am a bit bummed out by that one.

          • Yeah, I do like 2D as well, but I guess Ishiwatari feels there are some things he can do better in 3D than 2D. Things like the dynamic zoom after the launch attack/dust. There will always be trade offs, but I do prefer 2D to 3D sprites in fighting games.

  • Jordan

Oh damn… that was surely exciting.. no, BAD-ASS!

  • Magus KilIer

Thank god they didn’t name it Guilty Gear XXX,that would have been pretty awkward

  • AnimeLeirus .

A friend of mine says that the gameplay looks Slow, the ponytail of Ky looks gay and the art looks good… should I respond to his critiques or just ignore him, to the fact that he is a fucking BEAST at Fighting games and that he will eventually buy it?… xD

    • “Shut up and kneel before Xrd.” <– end conversation

      • AnimeLeirus .

couple of weeks before GG Xrd release…
Friend: “Dude, that Guilty Gear game looks AMAZING, I WANT IT SO FUCKING BAD… CAN’T WAIT!”
        Me: “FUCK YOU!!!!!” xD

    • The game does indeed look slower than previous games. It most likely is since it’s a 2.5D fighter. Also, the vertical real estate is gonna cut drastically to fit the widescreen format. I’m really not interested in this at all honestly.

      • Scrooge_McDuck

How has it being 2.5D fighter anything to do with it looking slower?

        • Zeik56

It’s different, so it’s inherently worse, obviously.

        • 3D animation and 2D animation are two entirely different things and 3D animation will never move as quickly as pure 2D fighters of old. The only real advantage to 2.5D over 2D fighters is all the shortcuts you can take in the art department in terms of cost. They will have many other challenges trying to make this game with UDK as well. Hasn’t really been tested much in the fighting game space other than MK9 and Injustice.

          • Scrooge_McDuck

You need to clarify what do you mean by “as quickly”. Is it simply the “feel” or do you mean in actual quantifiable time?

Because even if it’s in 3D, it’s still incorporeal animation. It doesn’t have weight. You just adjust the slider and it’d go in any speed you’d like.

Heck, by tweening, speeding up things in 3D animation is actually easier to do. Xrd seems to still use per-frame animation, though, so that’s neither here or there.

    • Zeik56

At this point I think it’s deal with it or move on. I doubt old GG will be getting much play by the time this is out. Unless he has a group of super hardcore GG friends that still play all the time.

  • Hinataharem

I’m glad I picked up Accent R as my first Guilty Gear. This looks really cool!

  • xAKUM3TSUx

I…..just cant believe this…..this is the best Birthday present ever TT_TT thank Arc Systems!

  • Binah Moore

we welcome u back hair car

  • Neppygear

Millia, babe. You’re looking so, so, so fine. I’m falling for you all over again.

  • Scrooge_McDuck

3D render with frame-per-action sequencing? Now what’s the point in that? That’s like doing a CGI stop-motion!

    • Zeik56

So that it still feels like Guilty Gear I’m sure. What’s the point of transitioning to 3D if it doesn’t feel like the game people loved?

      • Scrooge_McDuck

I’m just playing devil’s advocate here because I actually feel rather neutral about this.

But exactly my point. What’s the point of transitioning to 3D, then, if you’d just making it as close to 2D as possible, complete with the low-frame animation?

Low-frame animation is a purely artistic choice, yeah? It’s not like they could preserve the artistic style perfectly. 3D is still bad for morphing elements (Millia’s hair, for example, looks like sheets of cloth instead).

So it’s like they’re forgoing any artistic advantage 2D method has without even utilizing any of the 3D artistic superiority.

        • SirTeffy

The low-frame animation is necessary for Roman Cancelling/Force Roman Cancelling – specific frames can be cancelled at the cost of gauge to extend combos. It wouldn’t work in full 3D as there’s no “frame cue” like there is in a sprite-game, so they’re doing a static-model rendering method to cue players to when FRC is possible. The 3D models allow for more dynamic action such as the Dust launcher showing a dynamic upward camera angle, and super move being more dynamic as well.

          • Scrooge_McDuck

Ah, That makes sense. Thank you.

          • Slayven19

WOW that’s a detailed explanation if I’ve ever read one.

        • Zeik56

The 3D models will also allow for stuff like actual alternate costumes instead of palette swaps. I’m sure there are some advantages to the actual process of animating as well, although I can’t speak for details on that.

        • Kelohmello

A few theories. One is that there are some new mechanics involving 3D elements (only real hint is how they went out of their way to show off that the game is now 100% 3D in the trailer)

Another is that they have no idea how to do what KoF13 did and use 3D modeling for sprites.

My only other thought is maybe they thought this would appeal more to the masses visually, while maintaining the gameplay that the longtime fans preferred.

  • Go2hell66

    Lets rock!!!

  • Firekitty

Holy crap this looks amazing. I’ve always sucked at Guilty Gear, but I’ll preorder the hell out of this and say ‘thank you, sir’ when I get my ass handed to me.

Just when I was feeling sad because they’re doing a Blazblue anime (Which is cool, but just made me sad that it wasn’t GG instead), they spring this on us and make me feel 100% better.

Jouji Nakata as Sol will take some getting used to, and Ky’s little ponytail looks silly, but I love both anyway. XD

    • Zeik56

This actually makes me more surprised that they’re doing a BB anime instead of a GG anime. Granted, they do have Chrono Phantasma coming, but I would think a GG anime would do more to get people back into the GG world.

      • John Diamond

not really. i’d say the constant guilty gear releases do that job

      • Tenno Seremel

BB is more known/recent ATM, so BB anime would be preferable, I guess. With new GG games… who knows what comes later.

    • Scrooge_McDuck

But would Robo Ky also sport the ponytail? This is important.

      • Well, RoboKy being an old model, I don’t think he will. Unless, they pull a Lambda in him. I hope not.

  • My friends and I even cosplayed Guilty Gear a long time ago for a convention. Great news! The legend is back, baby!

    • That’s awesome, bet you all are super excited ^ ^

    • Oniros

  • RichyGaming

What’s with Ky’s new look? I’ve never seen him with that look before.

    • Zeik56

At least he doesn’t look like in Overture.

      • RichyGaming

Yeah I prefer this one too. But I hope there’s a reason he got a new hairstyle, otherwise i’m going to assume other people are going to look different.

  • brian

It was pretty awkward watching a 3 minute trailer with that much fighting between only two characters and on one stage.
Aaaaand looks like it’ll be at least partially in the US, interesting.
I’m really surprised they picked Unreal Engine.

    • Zeik56

For a reveal trailer that’s actually pretty impressive. It could have been live action or a just slow pan of the title.

      • brian

True, but it felt to me like it should have stopped at around 2 minutes.

        • Zeik56

It should have gone longer. I want to see more about how the game plays.

  • Christopher Nunes

Announced two days before my birthday? That’s awesome! ^_^

Even if I have never played a Guilty Gear game before I feel for the fans, this is awesome news and the 3D Models look like HD 2D sprites looks absolutely breath-taking.

    I’m happy for you guys!

  • endril

My body has been ready for years.

  • i wasnt sure when i read 3d models, but these are amazing!!! very true to the usual 2d style and animation. some other developers can learn from this!

  • Very impressive. Despite being 3D or cel-shaded, it still retains the familiar spirit and feel of the classic 2D GG games era.

Hope the final boss is “That Man.”

  • Arcana Wiz

to everyone who’s wondering why the ponytail in Ky’s here what I found in guilty gear wikia in GG Overture

  • My body, the blood in it boils with fervor and excitement. That or it’s just me getting confused by Bridget again.

Would you believe it’s been 10 years since I first played Guilty Gear X2? If this manages to come out by my birthday that will make my day (literally).

  • Voltech44

Am I the only one who laughed when Millia said “Took you long enough”? Seems like a bit of self-awareness on the devs’ part.

Not that I’m complaining, though. New Guilty Gear means more new characters, more awesome theme songs, and more insane matches. I’m more than ready for this revival…and the chance to play as Axl Low once more.

Day-one purchase? Please. More like second-one purchase. It’s the only way to be sure.

    • Zeik56

I’m quite sure they’re more than aware of how long it’s been. In fact I’m sure they’re just as anxious to start another Guilty Gear as we are to play one, since it took so long for them to get the rights back.

      • Voltech44

True enough. It may have taken the a while, but you know what they say — absence makes the heart lust for hard rockin’ tracks and mind-rending Instant Kills.

  • Demeanor

Whoa whoa whoa whoa AWESOME! At first I thought “3d? that’s hd 2d, what are they saying” then suddenly everything just CAME ALIVE!
Crappy as I am at fighting games I can’t wait for this, I wanna see JAAAAM!!! ^ ^
Also starting today I have a new forbidden dream: this dev team working on AH4 with this engine ^ ^

  • Tails the Foxhound

I think I hate Ky’s new look. He was always pretty, but he never looked ‘girly’, I think it’s the ponytail. I liked his original and Overture looks. Speaking of Overture, he has the Thunderseal, does that mean no Raven, Izuna, Sin, or Professor Parakeet? At least that still means Dizzy right?

    • Zeik56

I wasn’t sure what to think of it at first, but then I realized it’s actually quite fitting, since he’s clearly modeled after 17th century French knights.

      • Tails the Foxhound

Something something French, something something cowards.

Seriously though, that’s neat information. I still don’t like it design wise, but it’s cool to know the inspiration.

    Dat Music…!

  • りんごタルト@エスカのアトリエ

    Feels like Bamco’s Naruto games.

    finally GG is back :O
    best news all year

  • I’m thrilled by this! Ky needs to cut his hair, but other than that, I can’t wait. I want to see Venom footage, seeing as I was so cool and cosplayed him last year for dragon con. XD

  • Yuriangels

No, no can’t! My body is not ready!!!!

0:50 – “Oh, those are some really good HD sprites! I’m glad that Arcsys is finally upgrading their graphics…”
    1:03 – “WHOA DAYUM”

  • Shane Guidaboni

What are the chances this will be for PS3 and not PS4? My friend is saying this is next-gen guaranteed.

    • MrRobbyM

I’ll place my money on both consoles.

    • Zeik56

I think PS4 is a guarantee. PS3 will depend on when it actually makes it to consoles and how important next-gen tech is for this game to run properly.

  • Pope The Rev XXVIII

And work on the 1st revision is already underway.

  • Tenno Seremel

This year really wants my wallet or something… Took you long enough indeed. HELL YES ♡♥❤❥❦❧
