It Sounds Like Japan Will Get Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles Of Mystara On Disc

By Spencer . May 21, 2013 . 11:43pm

imageEarly reports from Famitsu magazine say that Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara will go on sale on August 22 in a splendid limited edition package. Chronicles of Mystara is a compilation of two classic Capcom arcade classics Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara and Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom with new features like custom rules. (See a complete list here.)

The limited edition package will cost 3,990 yen ($40) and is only confirmed for PlayStation 3 so far. Items in the limited edition package were not announced. Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara will be released on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, PC, and as a Wii U download in the West. It’s not unprecedented for Capcom to release enhanced arcade games as retail titles in Japan. Darkstalkers Resurrection was a retail title for the region.

To be honest I would like Okami HD, RE4HD, SF3 Online, and D&D as a retail in the west more than some of AAA games…

      amen

I wonder if I should be either irritated or not for there not being a European limited edition version.

Japan gets these on disc so why can’t we get them in this form as well
Capcom released the DMC HD Collection on disc over here but not the RE4/CVX HD set on disc

If this released on disc in the west few would buy it. Its best games like these stick to digital download.

You don’t know that for sure

I really really hoped that this game can sell well here as i really love Beat’em up genre and if this game can do well,(Like Code of Princess, Senran Kagura and of course the upcoming Dragon’s Crown to also do well.)
Who knows, we will be able to see the return of this genre.^_^

    • z_merquise

Yeah, 2D beat-em-up genre is the reason why I always love going to the arcades way back.

I really wish Dragon’s Crown to be a success because I really like to see more of these kind of games.

Also hoping Capcom continue this re-release of their classic beat-em-ups because I really wanted to see Alien vs. Predator next.

      • Crimson_Cloud

Capcom really had a bunch of great Beat’em ups.I’m also hoping they re-release it as well. ^^

I don’t know why, but these kind of games appeal to my taste – but unfortunately, I’ve only played Muramasa and Odin Sphere of that genre (or something that comes close to it). That’s also why I like Tales of Hearts. It mixes the awesomeness of 2D Fighting games with the adventurous epicness of RPGs. And I hope this will also apply to this game (D&D) and the upcoming Dragon’s Crown.

  • Crimson_Cloud

A must buy for me, regardless in what form.

  • pimpalicious

Capcom should do a retail release including Arcade Cabinet, this, and Duck Tales. Do do another with Darkstalkers, Jojo, and Street Fighter 2/3 HD.

Don’t forget Tech Romancer! If Capcom ever gets the idea to re-release that awesome game of epic proportions.

      • pimpalicious

        And Project Justice

        • https://www.facebook.com/OperationHotblood?ref=hl HeroOfGames16

Yeah, let Capcom re-release all those awesome Dreamcast fighting games.

  • Istillduno

Will import this rather than download if I grab it, online is nice but games like these are made to play with mates in person and it’s a pain in the ass to lug an entire console around to play with a mate in person when your mate owns the same console.
