No further details on the Halo TV series were announced. We’ll have more news as it is made available.

Steven Spielberg at the helm? Basically confirmed to be awesome.

    • Not necessarily. He could just be producing (or worse, executive producing). You know, like he did with the Transformers movies.

  • Brimfyre

    Gaming is dead.

    • DCBlackbird

      But it’s Spielberg

    • TheExile285

      What are you talking about?

  • Chris Yuen

..and I thought we were watching the reveal for gaming news…not announcements of new television series…

You realize this program would be aimed at gamers who played Halo. Its like when Sony announced the Ratchet and Clank movie on PS Blog.

I don’t see what everyone is upset about. I have no interest in XboxOne ATM but I’m happy about since I enjoyed the Halo games I’ve played

I enjoyed Halo 1 Combat Evolved and its sequel (although to a lesser extent), so if the story is remake of the first games world, I’d definitely be in!

Oh, and side note, he’s upset because Ratchet and Clank the movie wasnt announced at the PS4 reveal. Sony focused on games pretty much, where Microsoft as usual, focused on their apps and socialization.

But hey I am looking forward to seeing what they do with this tv series!

I sure as hell hope not! If this program is aimed at Halo gamers, there’s potential for an epic fail. It’s like thinking that Game of Thrones is aimed at fantasy readers, or Lost at survivialists…

btw its amazing no one downvoted you yet haha~

So that’s where the Halo/Spielberg collabo is headed (instead of the movie that’s been in limbo for years). Interesting.

Not what I watched the reveal for, but holy shit if this isn’t awesome news.

  • I find the Halo story to be very boring. I just like it for the gameplay, but I can see the Halo fans who actually care about the story get excited about this.

I think this one will be a success- Spielberg is good at plucking at the audiences heart strings, and is probably a good fit for the kind of melodrama a Halo-show would have to include. Good news for the Halo-fans!

Please remember the target audience for this folks. And it just isn’t Halo gamers and may not be niche. Spielberg brings plenty of eyes himself — and one can’t say there’s no market for a Halo TV show.

Remember what Red v Blue became at one time.

    • “One time”, though, being the peak of the Halo brand, which ended about half a decade ago.

      • I agree, this seems abit late

        • Kai2591

          good point

  • And the gaming world of 2007 was stunned.

That is going to be on expensive ass tv series.
