XBoxone? So instead of going with infinity, they choose to make a name most people would mistake for the first. XD

  • shuyai

lol i bet their idea or slogan is “one xbox to rule them all” as in no need for any other entertainment device

    • TheExile285

I don’t like Xbox but I like that slogan, lol

  • vileBrenman

Wow is this a prequel to the 360

    • hawk222

Well, it does seem like gaming prequels somehow have better mechanics than the originals and sequels, so… ???

    • artemisthemp

I already have Xbox 1 under my bed

  • MS needs to learn how to count. Found some pics. The console looks pretty big.

    • Juan Andrés Valencia

      The new CD-i

      • Randgriz

Cant wait to watch TV on it

      • Monsley

Glad I’m not the only person who thinks this looks a lot like a revamped CD-i! (It also looks exceptionally similar to the VCR my family used to have in the early 80s…)

        • Juan Andrés Valencia

To be fair… it’s probably going to be worth it if they have The Flowers Of Rober Mapplethorpe 3D HD at launch.

          • Monsley

            Day one buy for me.

      • neocatzon

        Nostalgic, smart.

        • Juan Andrés Valencia

More like nostalgic and stupid. I don’t want a console/cable box, hell, the PS3, Xbox 360 and the fricking Wii can use streaming services without any problems but it seems that they are more interested on those things than in games.

          • neocatzon

I know, it’s a sarcasm. It’s hard to believe they launch a console that seems can run vhs by the look. I couldn’t care less for the media services, nowadays they’re given :/ I just hope it plays games. For now ps4 looks better with more developer friendly promises, indie, and more exclusives.

      • Isaac Newton

Pardon me for saying I’m really sorry but….
Can I insert the word Xbox to your name it fits perfectly :D
        Edit: :P LOL

        • Juan Andrés Valencia

          No thanks :P

    • Shambels

Well we haven’t even seen the ps4…

  • TheCrimsonSpeed

I see the name “One” causing more confusion then anything else honestly. When I hear the term “Xbox One” I think of the first iteration, not a brand new system. People who don’t keep up with gaming news will probably think the exact same thing *shrugs*. Not an Xbox guy anyway, so it effects me personally very little, but that still seems like a silly thing to do from a marketing perspective.

    • Shambels

Well you also forgot that One is a overused name for devices as well.

  • Mecha_the_Hedgehog

Well as a gamer and someone who doesn’t give a crap about the media stuff or making it a TV I can say I am beyond bored. I got both Xboxes but this gen i think I’m just going to skip it.

  • Anime10121

Annnnnddd 20 minutes in the announcement of a new gaming console, and NOTHING about games in this conference :(

    Come on Microsoft PERSUADE ME!!!

    • TheExile285

Didn’t Sony do the exact same?

      • Anime10121

Sony’s was 2 hours, this one’s only 1, so they are a third of the way through (well about half way now) and nothing but kinect and apps and here we go, finally to the games, ready to see this thing now!

Dont even like sports games but DAMN if those things didnt look nice!

        • TheExile285

          Ah, good point.

    • DesmaX

They already said they are just showing the console

Games are going to be shown at E3

      • Anime10121

Oh did they, my fault then, maybe thats why its only an hour long. Anyway, the thing does look nice! And for some reason, the name kinda “fits” too! Well I guess E3 is when we’ll see how the games lineup looks so far!

      • MrTyrant

People said to me that previous years and you know what happened. Nearly 0 games, full kinect things and lot of social features.

  • Solomon_Kano

I like the controller. So far, that’s it. Reminds me of the Duke without being as clunky.

  • TheExile285

    Xbox One?

OK that is just going to confuse people…

  • FFmax

    No 720?

  • Brimfyre

Who would clap at these events? Is it the journalists? That seems kind of weird to me for some reason. Nothing in that teaser warranted a huge audience response, unless it was just pure fanboys.

Are people off the street allowed to attend this thing?

    • Brimfyre

I’m sorry I don’t mean clapping. Clapping would be normal. It’s all the screaming and “Woo hoo!” that seem strange to me.

      • Brimfyre

According to Adam Sessler, MS had their own cheering squad. The press wasn’t applauding anything. I figured as much.

Also I replied twice to myself. I’m awesome.

  • MrTyrant

Why is called Xbox one? don’t tell me that there is going to be only one game (Halo?) hahaha

  • Kenny Loh

LOL i can’t stop laughing when i hear the name lol

  • Anime10121

Wait, question, did they really just announce an exclusive partnership with EA Sports? Or was that just Fifa?

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

So…what should we call the original Xbox then? Xbox Origin?

    • Suicunesol

      Xbox Zero?

      • Guest

Why not just call it the Xbox?

    • d19xx

    • michel

      First Xbox?

    • sd28

      xbox beginings

    • Barzh

      Xbox HUEG

    • Solomon_Kano

      Xbox Prime.

  • They showed just 4 games, only 1 of which was confirmed as running on the consoles and there were no demonstrations of gameplay at all.

Plenty of talk about DVR functionality that won’t be as quick or easy to use as simply using my Sky box though. Not the best of unveiling really.

  • D H

Still going to get one, as I’m sure something I like will come out on it, but I gotta say, as far as these pre-E3 conferences go, PS4 wins. The absolute main thing is, they actually showed some gameplay with Killzone. Not one piece of gameplay anywhere in the Xbox One conference… sure, in-engine stuff, confirmed and allegedly, but no actual gameplay. I know E3’s around the corner and they are saving some stuff for that, but that makes me worry about the state of their 15 exclusive games when they can’t show me how a single one plays. Having 14 others for E3 would still be plenty… Also, all the media stuff taking up 1/2 or more of the event… I don’t really care for. If, and that’s a big if, I feel like watching TV or a movie, I’m sure as hell not going to do it with annoying voice controls that don’t quite work right for me, as I do have a slight lisp.

Basically, fine console, I guess, I’ll find out more at E3 that’ll really seal the case on it, but I do wish they were a little less restrained with it. The fact that five minutes of “the next generation of consoles” is a TV show does not bode well for it. Also, the stuff with Skype and ESPN… really feel like things I can already do on the 360… maybe not on the same screen, but that’s hardly revolutionary. Just watching this presentation, it’s more like the Xbox One is a glorified cable box that also just happens to play games. I know they are holding back stuff for E3, like I said, but it really doesn’t paint a good picture for gamers that are interested in more than just Madden or Call of Duty/Halo…

  • d19xx

    It’s like VH1…

  • ZEROthefirst

As long as the library doesn’t turn out to be mostly FPS’, sports games or really bad Kinect games for the 360, I might consider this. Other wise I’m going to skip this like the 360. Come on Microsoft, do what you did with the original Xbox (or whatever we call it since you guys can’t count or name you consoles in a less confusing manner) and give a large variety of games that actually make me want to buy one… of course if I have to pay twice to use my internet I’ll still skip XBL.

  • Unlimax

Seriously .. This is the worst conference to date ~

    And XBOX “ONE” !!?

Why can’t you count to “3” M$ this is your 3rd console *Facepalm*

    wow .. just wow ಠ_ಠ

    • Godmars

      The 3rd console “curse”.

Though is internet reaction is anything to go by – HA! – its already started…

    • Solomon_Kano

MS has been hanging with Gabe Newell, I guess. That fear of the number 3 rubbed off lol.

  • Godmars

    Just calling it “Xbox”.

  • Where is One, there is Two.
Xbox Two portable for Xbox One, like Vita for PS4

  • YoshEE

Wow when I saw how Xbox one look like first thing came to my head is “Does that VCR?” And name name of it seem ok

  • sd28

wait hasn’t that already come out like a few years ago

  • badmoogle

That was easily the worst console reveal i’ve ever seen. Not even remotely interested in buying this (ugly) thing.

  • mirumu

Honestly my expectations weren’t high, but I thought Microsoft would bring out something with at least some advantages over the PS4. This however seems almost cynically bland and completely uninspired. They look to be making one of the mistakes Sony originally made with the PS3 too in that they’re trying to sell it to too many markets at the same time.

I’ve always wondered what a commodity games console would look like. Today I have seen one.

  • Vesperion

Xbox One? I think some original Xbox confusion is gonna come from this in the long run. Talk about a step backwards

  • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro
  • Hmm…
Using your tv… to use your xbox… to watch tv…

  • Dream

Xbox one? Lmfao, makes me think of the original very first Xbox that came out. GG for Microsoft, Sony wins.

  • Vash bane

    lol wow..
we were all wrong about the name

  • isfuturebright

    Wow this is big
