    Digging Hitomi`s ponytail!

  • doubleO7

Loving Hitomi’s new costume. Also, dat ponytail!
After these 2, it’ll take 3 more characters to completely fill up the next row on the character select screen, assuming they fill it at all. Anyone want to take any guesses at who else might be announced?

    • sunK1D

So far we have Momiji, Leon, Ein and Jacky. Next would probably be Eileen from VF5 also.

      • Speedo Redempteur

I hope hey bring Aoi from VF too

        • Slayven19

I really hope for aoi, and then after that the DOA vs VF game is what I want.

  • Göran Isacson

Yyyeah can’t say that I’m fancying Ein too much. Leon may be very close in gameplay to Bayman, but at LEAST he’s a different character with a different motivation. Ein is… Hayate. That’s pretty much it. Jacky’s cool though, he can stay.

    • Speedo Redempteur

Watch them add a Ein in the story as an Hayate Clone. A ein looking for fullfillement just like The clone of kasumi were.

      • Göran Isacson

Ha ha, that COULD be one route. Not sure I’d be interested in that though since the Kasumi clones story went… pretty much nowhere.

      • samsneeze

Ein is Hayate. They’d have to do some heavy rewrites to make Ein a clone. Or just pretend that Helena somehow missed the cloning process of Ein after she had taken over DOATEC and blew it up.

    • samsneeze

Actually Ein is closer in play style to Hitomi. His combos have a bit more weight and less speed. The Hitomi/Ein combo in Dead or Alive 4 is spectacularly fun. As for why Ein and Hayate are the same, Ein was introduced as a playable character in Dead or Alive 2, but Hayate didn’t become a series mainstay until Dead or Alive 3. Hayate was mentioned in the first game but wasn’t, to my knowledge, ever seen on screen. Later Ein shows up with memory loss and by the end of Dead or Alive 2 he gets his memories back and is back to being Hayate. It’s not like they ripped themselves off, they had legit story reasons for Ein’s presence.

      • Göran Isacson

Oh I’m not disputing that they didn’t have a story reason for Ein, but NOW? Now is a different matter- unless they want to spin this version of Ein as being Hayate doing some weird undercover work under an assumed name…

        • samsneeze

Well at the end of Hitomi’s story in Dead or Alive 4 she finds Hayate practicing karate in the mountains. Which I took as him accepting Ein as another part of himself. Sure it’s reaching quite a bit, but it’s all I got.

    • James Reilly

Ein doesn’t play anything like Hayate. In fact Ein was a playable character before Hayate ever was. He was the DoA karate character before Hitomi ever was too.

  • Gilgamesh2025

    Looks great! :D

  • sunK1D

Ponytail Hitomi will be a first for the series I think. Awesome!

    • Slayven19

Really? I never noticed but if true this is great just like flowing hair helena.

      • sunK1D

Yep I actually own every game in the series and I just checked to see if she had the ponytail in any of the games she shows up. DOA 2U/3/4/5 and X1/2 and no ponytail whatsoever for her.

  • Vesperion

AWWW SNAP! Classic Hitomi jean jacket makes it’s comeback

  • KuchikiSentou

    I’ve missed Ein, so hard!!
    The Ein-Hayate showdown is inevitable.

    • Zhizn Snake

      Or team up o.O lol

  • Zonic505

Wow, they got another Sega character to make a cameo. Kind of a nice surprise to see them continue to allow crossovers. Maybe we can see someone aside from Virtua Fighters, maybe like Fighting Vipers?

    • James Reilly

They enetertained the idea of Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue

      • Zonic505

I would totally support this idea. Heck, they could make a stage based on the game as well.

  • KuchikiSentou

But my top wishlist. 7v7 survival. Still the best mode in any DOA game.

  • MrJechgo

So Ein is back huh? I can live with that.

  • LuciferD666

YEAAAH!!! “It’s like those screenshots are moving in slow motion”

  • Slayven19

Wait that pic with Ein in it looks like either the DOA3 stage or that DOA2 stage with the waterfall. Of course it could be a new stage as well.

    • James Reilly

Yeah it was the “Lost World” Stage from DoA 3 I think.

      • Slayven19

Seems that way to me to.

  • KyoyaHibari

So much win in those 2 photos.

  • Nitraion

Man… feeling so stupid buying vanilla version…
I hope this is last version TK i don’t wanna see Arcade version…
oky let’s se what they add again

  • zero254

I like Jacky, so I’ll grab this.

    Better have Leon as well.

  • LustEnvy

Yo Sega… how about you make them bring out mother effin’ Ryo Hazuki of Shenmue? Huh? HUH!?
