Boring gameplay cant save what might be an awesome story.

    • Derek E Nay

Ehh… I agree. But then I remember there was Legacy of Kain ^.^

    • Sergio Briceño

Why would anything try to save something awesome?

On the topic: I think cell shading would have worked a lot better for this. But then 3DS…

      • Satori Satya

Examples of 3DS games that use cel-shading:

        1.Inazuma Eleven
        2. Super Street Fighter IV 3D (characters only)
        3. E.X. Troopers

Examples of DS games that used cel-shading:

        1. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
        2. Ōkamiden
        3. Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble!

        • Sergio Briceño

Still all of those examples are pretty ugly. No wonder they didn’t go for that look with this game.

          • Satori Satya

Watch this video and you’ll see that aside from the AA issue present in the 3DS due to having to support the 3D effect, the versions of E.X.Troopers for 3DS and PS3 look nearly identical to each other.

And I’m sure almost no one shares your opinion of Super Street Fighter IV 3D characters graphics looking “ugly”. You gotta be kidding me.

The thing is, the 3DS is perfectly capable of cel shading. Thus you have no points against their use on that system. None.

And If you wanna talk ugly, check this fighting game on Vita:

          • Sergio Briceño

            1) Ex-Troopers is hardly the best looking cell shaded game there is. Actually Jet Grind Radio of the Dreamcast era looked better… Wait, actually Sonic Shuffle looked better…

            2) 2 examples from Capcom. I’d tell you what, that doesn’t mean the 3DS is capable of good enough cell shading, it just means Capcom does an awesome job with the 3DS. Still this game isn’t from them, thus you have no points in favor of cell shading use on the system.

          • Satori Satya

            1. That wasn’t the point. The point was that the 3DS is perfectly capable of pushing cel-shaded graphics. That video proves that aside from anti-aliasing issues, the 3DS version of that game is nearly identical to the PS3 version of the same game.

            2. Are you kidding me? Your arguments against the cell-shading 3DS’s capabilities are downright ridiculous. “that doesn’t mean the 3DS is capable of good enough cell shading” Good enough? LOL Ok. I can play that arbitrary game too! I can say that cel-shading is a godawful technique that is dated and needs to stay dead. How you like them apples?

Opinions aside, fact is, the 3DS is perfectly capable of handling cel-shading games. I already mentioned several examples of that. Even the old DS was capable of doing that.

          • Sergio Briceño

I didn’t use numbers to ennumerate my arguments. I used them to reply to yours in order and I will again, because if I use them the way you do it will all get messy.

            1) If you think AA is the only main difference between both versions then… Ok I can’t come up with a good enough joke but seriously, there are dozens of differences! Like the textures, just look at the rubble falling in both videos and compare it. The amount of snow falling, self-shadowing, etc. I could go on and on. Long story short, don’t try to compare a handheld title to a console one, even if they are ports of the same game, the hardware powering each is 2 generations away at least.

            2) My arguments about the 3DS aren’t ridiculous. As I said before, the 3DS cannot compete with the PS3 in terms of graphics and sadly it cannot make good enough cell shading either. That is the reason why I think they decided to go for 3D models for the multiplatform game in this article, to maintain a consistency in quality. And you have the right to think cell shading is outdated, just as much as I have the right to agree with the majority of the gaming world that it’s perfect for cartoon games.

            3) I know it can handle them, just very poorly. Just like current generation consoles will handle ports of the next generation games. To be honest even worse, because we know that the first wave of next generation games won’t be that demanding so clearly I need to find another example to better illustrate to you how poorly the 3DS handles cell shading.

          • Satori Satya

            1. Go back to my previous posts and read if I said that the graphics were a) nearly identical or b) the same. If I said “nearly identical”, then your reply makes no sense. Your reply would only make any sense if I had said “the graphics look the same 100%.

            2. Who’s talking about which system produces the best cel-shading graphics? Not me. Again, try to understand that my whole point was to prove that the 3DS CAN produce cel-shading graphics. Which was something that you were questioning as even being possible. And when presented with the evidence that proved the 3DS is capable of having cel-shading graphics, then you changed your argument to claim that the graphics are “not good enough”. Which is a ridiculous statement since your opinion is entirely subjective and totally irrelevant to the fact that the system is cel-shading capable.

            3. So I guess in your subjective opinion, the PS2 and Gamecube did cell-shading “poorly”. Killer 7 looked “ugly” (it didn’t). XIII was awful looking (it wasn’t). The 3DS is as capable as those systems. E.X. Troopers looks fantastic on the system. A fact that you tried to brush off by saying “But-but its a Capcom game!”

          • M’iau M’iaut

Both sides can end the argument now, guys.

          • Sergio Briceño

You don’t need to do that. Now it will look like we were mad at each other. But I like it here so I will do as you say.

    • Solomon_Kano

I think you’ve got that backwards, like “an awesome story can’t save boring gameplay.”

      • Brion Valkerion

Its not like we don’t know the ending already, especially since that whole “one will die” thing.

  • Jahred Down

Wonder if Static will make an appearance. My bro would buy it day one just for him.

    • haku67

I don’t think he will since his powers appear in season 2 and this will fill the gap between the two seasons.

  • Xeawn

    So…Static…where’s Static?

    • Ferrick

this is season 1.5, static gets his power in season 2

      • Xeawn

Ah, I saw all of two episodes of this series. Shame he’s not in it; the gameplay doesn’t look like anything I’d pay top dollar for, but I’d probably be willing to do it just to get to play as him.

  • Solomon_Kano

This looks awful… but I want this so much.

    • Ferrick

same here… till i reach the part “one will die” and wally screaming like a hooligan, damn wally gets no rest at all in YJ

    • TheExile285

You know what I want? A 3rd season of YJ

      damn you CN

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

crap they got the ben10 treatment… I still want to know what happened. So fack it, I’ll rent it

  • Slayven19

Yep game looks like garbage but the story is something I want. Well at least I can play as zatanna so there’s some redeeming factor to the gameplay.

  • TrannyMagic

after finding out a Young Justice game was coming out awhile back I was excited but after watching that trailer… everything seems… ( ~__~)

  • ThunderGod_Cid

“Gameplay like you’ve never seen before”, huh?

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this “gameplay” before in Marvel Ultimate Alliance , X-Men Legends, Justice League Elite, and every other Baldur’s Gate clone out there.

But goddammit, my love for this show has already guaranteed my preorder with Amazon.

  • DarkWaterClone

I hope this sells well so WB makes a third season of the tv show. Plus if people want to kickstart another season there is the site It is like the Kickstarter web site but only for TV shows.

I am disappointed this is not on the Vita but seeing as it is not I will play it on the 360 instead. It will be neat hearing Nolan North playing Superboy. Looking at the Wikipedia site Blue Beetle, Wonder Girl, Lagoon Boy & bumblebee will be DLC characters. So there will be more then twelve characters total. So hopefully this game will be fun.

    • Miss_Madness

It’s not really the WB you have to worry about it’s cartoon network and DC.

  • miju

    At least Wally’s included…

  • Vash bane
