Devil Survivor: Overclocked now has a patch in Europe to sort out all the bugs that were present in the European release of the game, Ghostlight have announced. You can search for the game on the Nintendo eShop to find the patch.

The patch will update Overclocked to version 1.1, and will make these fixes:

  • The game will no longer freeze when summoning a demon during battle
  • The infrequent hang encountered during Auction House ‘Accidents’ has been removed
  • Text display errors have been corrected

Additionally, the game is now back in stock at the Ghostlight store.

    Just in time

  • NTaiyokun

I really fell bad for all of you about this.

    • doubleO7

You feel bad that the bugs got fixed? lol

      • NTaiyokun

No, I feel bad that you guys got a botched release like that. Kinda sucks you guys have been waiting for this for a long time and there are all these bugs that need patching.

        • Well I got by and completed the game with these bug. I considered it as a challenge for me to complete the game without switching demons in battle lol.

  • Pedro Tavares

Lol game comes late 2 years and witrh bugs…thats why no way I’m buying it.

    • doubleO7

Thats a rather silly argument to make AFTER they’ve already fixed said bugs.

      • Pedro Tavares

How is it silly? I’m talking abotu them taking two years to release them game and at the end of the day not even checking for this major bugs.

The bugs aren’t the only reason that makes me not want to buy it.

        • Alex

It’s silly why not buy it if you want it and show the that there is a market so they release devil survivor 2 faster

          • Pedro Tavares

THey have been treating us like shit for years now its not just this game, they are now apparently finally publishing games here but with Nintendo help, I love Atlus but this annoys me.

I had the DS game, I would buy the 3DS guy to support them but the way the situation was handled they don’t deserve the money.

I’m not trying to be whiny and I know if I dont buy it hey don’t give a crap but they should have been more apologetic to how they handled the whole thing.

          • Alex

Its not atlus ghostlight has nothing to do with it directly they are a small company who publish games in europe. I support ghostlight because they gave us lots of game and now its more important for the 3ds which is zone than ds or psp who werent.
you can do what you want but not whine when no other games come.
SMT 4 and soulhackers are coming but not by atlus, nintendo is publishing smt

          • Pedro Tavares

I mentioned in my post that Nintendo was helping them publishing the games I’m aware of that.

  • transferstudentx

yea i stick with my ds copy it is just not worth it i upgrade if i ever find it for like 10 dollars

  • l777l

Releasing a game with these flaws is not acceptable.

    • Arizato

Totally agree. Especially not after all this waiting.

    • Tell that to all the people making MMOs nowadays. Most never leave “Beta”.

  • British_Otaku

Finally… Perhaps I’ll get the title when I feel like I’ve had enough with Fire Emblem and Rhythm Thief. No guarantee that I won’t complain about the issues even if I get it after the fix.

Not working on properly on launch day is big.
More so when the PAL market which gets the poor product has been waiting for it for so long, in either a DS or 3DS incarnation regardless of the solid releases and rereleases in Japan and North America.

  • SirRichard

About time. As much as I like Ghostlight for what they do, this entire affair was ridiculous.

    • Shinra

But the bugs were Atlus fault, not Ghostlight. =/

      • Amagidyne

Exactly. It’s the fact that they keep giving the EU bugged or delayed titles that is making Atlus fall rapidly from the top of my favourite devs list.

I want to love them, but they make it hella difficult sometimes.

        • TrevHead

So yet another botched Altus EU localisation? (sigh)

One would start to think that Altus just does not give a damn about PAL

          • Jisgsaw

One would actually think that for a long time now, sadly…

          • Ferofax

Umm… I’m confused. People actually think Atlus localized this? Did it occur to anybody that the bug was specific to the EU version only? Which was localized by Ghostlight?

          • TrevHead

I don’t follow it too closely so I’m not gonna point fingers, but it seems to be always the Altus localisations that we have a difficult time getting hassle free.

      • SirRichard

I’m well aware, but did Ghostlight really let Atlus leave them hanging for two years? I’m well aware that Atlus are to blame here as well (believe me, I’ve taken quite a liking to beating on them lately), but this isn’t quite the Persona 4 Arena situation. Not entirely, anyway.

And if Atlus did leave them in the cold for two years, I wonder why or how anyone could possibly want to do business with them.

        • Jisgsaw

Well, as far as I know, Ghostlight only picked up DSO one year ago, so Atlus “just” let it pend for one year, not two (which is still ridiculous). But Ghstlight (and Nintendo for that matter) cleary didn’t QC the game…

I really wonder if all this fiasco is not linked to Nintendo of Europe regulations… I mean, I played most of SMT games that came in Europe, it’s the first time I remember such major bugs, which incidently comes for the first 3DS game Atlus localizes to PAL regions…

  • I hope they do better next time, our EU brothers and sisters shouldn’t have had to deal with this. Especially for so long.

  • Neppygear

Yay. It only took… months. :I
Being an SMT fan in Europe is suffering…

  • Choice screenshot, Ish.

  • RablaAndrews

Stuff like this is why I’m buying an American 3DS ahead of the SMT4 release. No chance in hell I’m waiting around for that.
