If this is anything like the Halo anniversary I will get this ASAP.

  • Silver Citizen

Hell yeah! I am over the moon excited for this. Totally unexpected and it looks great! Too bad I don’t have a 360.

  • James

I really can’t get into the Fable series. Everything about it screams poor quality and bad design ideas. I bought the first Fable a few years back out of advice from some others and its probably one of my most hated games ever. I am glad that fans of the series get to re-experience a game they like though.

I’m really excited. I love Fable but I’ve only ever finished the first one once. So it’ll be nice to be able to play it through again and see what’s changed or improved. I suddenly want to play the other two…

  • OkamiKing

So let me get this straight, they decided to bring back the original Fable. The one with the best antagonist. The good story. The late night brawls and second most badass mayor to live. And the excalibur wannabe sword you raged about cause you didn’t have enough money to purify yourself after you took the greatest sword known to man. Oh and I get to sleep with Lady Grey again in HD.

I’m cool with this. I’m very cool with this.

EDIT: Especially because I won’t get stuck in prison for forty years ever again.

OH AND THE BADASS DASH MOVE! I FORGOT THE SEXY BADASS DASH MOVE!

    • mirumu

Yes, with other series I don’t think this would sound so appealing, but the first Fable game still feels like the pinnacle of the series to me. Although it takes more dedication to sleep with Lady Grey in Fable 2.

      • andref

Eh all you do is find her body parts, stay near her for a few seconds and bam she loves you. In the first you had to beat Thunder or else blackmail her into marrying you by finding her sister’s journal though in lost chapters you can send her away though

        • mirumu

I didn’t mean it was harder in Fable 2. I was referring more to the whole sleeping with an undead zombie angle. Shame they didn’t put her in Fable 3.

          • andref

I laughed more at the hanging jaw rather than the undead state she was in

    • ShadowDivz

Who is the first most badass mayor to live? And you better not say mayor mc cheese.

      • Solomon_Kano

        Mayor Haggar, of course!

        • OkamiKing

Mayor of the world Haggar indeed

  • Jungo

Will it include The Lost Chapters? I was planning to get that for PC, but this might stay my hand if it does.

    • Silver Citizen

      Yes it will.

  • ShadowDivz

Honestly, the only fable i liked was the first one.
I don’t know why, but the others just never….”clicked” with me.

    • mirumu

The sequels lacked emotion. No heart, no soul. I played and completed all three, and liked all of them in some sense. In various technical regards the sequels were often superior, and they added some really interesting mechanics, but the focus was not the story or the characters. Events that happened be they good or bad, just happened with little to make the player care. It’s a shame because I think the ideas behind all of them had quite a lot of potential.

  • Kalis Konig

The only Fable that was worth it. the series had way to many short comings considering the budget.

  • Strain42

Oh I see…How very interesting. Would you all excuse me for a moment?

    WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Solomon_Kano

This would’ve been appealing several years ago, but I’ve no desire to return to Fable now. Not that I’ve a 360 anymore anyway.

  • evilmajikman

Am I the only one that prefers Fable 2 over 1? I just didn’t feel anything in the first game other than the cool excalibur sidequest. The rest of the game was just really meh. I mean the villain was STUPID. I mean you kill someones family, then raise them and expect that person not to use their powers on you? The ffff kind of logic. At least Fable 2′s villain was smart enough to TRY to kill the protagonist before he/she got powerful,

The sidequests in 2 were just better with the explorer brothers always causing some hilarity, and the consequences of your actions most of the time held some water like what you did before you went in prison, what you did after. If you have a kid he/she could get kidnapped that would cause another sidequest. I never felt the consequences in the first game because it was so underdeveloped on broken promises and became a generic hack n slash rpg.

The customization in 2 was just OMG. I made I-No from Guilty Gear for my female character and it was awesome. There’s tons of cool outfits and weapons in the 2nd game. The customization in the first game was pretty bare bones and if you get scarred or anything there’s nothing to reverse it and your stuck looking at an ugly character… the last time I played Fable my character looked like a tree… just WTF.

The 3rd game was pretty meh. The customization wasn’t as deep as the 2nd game, the story built up to a horrible end boss. The only thing 3 had over 1 and 2 was the main character wasn’t mute. Silent protagonists have never been my cup of tea and the game kind of ignored the first 2 games. The 2nd game there was cool throwbacks to the first game.

  • Farid Belkacemi

    Damn, it looks good !

  • MrSirFeatherFang

I never played Fable 2 or 3. I find it strange among my friends, I’m the only one to play the 1st one and not 2 and 3, but my friends didn’t play #1 and they only played 2 and 3.
I played this game when I was pretty young and that Danny Elfman styled music has always been stuck in my head… I now realize now that I’m older, his iconic style of music (especially in movies).
I really haven’t bought anything for my 360… the last game was Akai Katana. I will look forward to this. I spent a lot of time playing this and I can already feel the nostalgia coming back. I only played the original, so I look froward to the Lost Chapters content too.

    • Solomon_Kano

Yea, just stick with 1. 2 wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t any improvement over the first (which I enjoyed btw). 3 was… yea, no. I’d definitely say the Lost Chapters content makes this worth a look. I played LC back when I had a 360 in middle school and loved it. Loved it enough to get hyped up about 2. And then get disappointed lol.

But, yea, the LC content is worth checking this out for if you liked the game.

      • Zeik56

I was under the impression that the general consensus was that 2 was a fairly notable improvement over 1. Pretty sure you’re the first person I’ve ever seen claim otherwise.

Edit: But looking over the comments maybe I’m wrong? Up until now most talk about Fable 1 seemed to be lukewarm at best. (And complete disappointment at worst.)

        • Solomon_Kano

Really? Huh. I missed out on any of Molyneux’s talk leading up to the original, so I had nothing to be disappointed by. Looked like an interesting enough action-RPG, so I gave it a shot and it turned that’s what I ended up with.

2 was… I guess it was an improvement mechanically, but this time I had followed the game and so I went into it expecting a whole lot that Molyneux never delivered. Same on 3.

I also felt like the last two didn’t have the same genuine charm the original had, but that’s entirely subjective.

      • MrSirFeatherFang

I played Fable when I was in 5th grade on the original Xbox my cousin lent me. So it’s gonna feel pretty nostalgic to me! I’ll just make a save before a certain point in the game…

  • Mithfalath

Bloody hell, the adventures of the great chicken chaser begins again!

Every time someone or some’thing’ mentions part 3, I think of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSaw85bliyQ

  • Derek E Nay

Bring back the old Jack voice before the expansion and I might buy it… The new jack they replaced him with in the expsansion felt so off the orginal character.

  • Virevolte

Ho. It was the only one I didn’t play.
    I’m glad ~

  • Mordina

Wish you could have a female Hero this time.

  • Kernimal

    fable 2 pc perhaps?
