Square Enix have shared a new trailer for Murdered: Soul Suspect, the game where you have to solve your own murder. You play as Ronan O’Connor, a detective with a “checkered past,” who is murdered by a brutal killer.

Unable to move on, O’Connor is stuck in the limbo world of Dusk, and needs to find his killer and bring him to justice before he can move on in peace. Using his new-found supernatural powers, O’Connor is able to explore the town of Salem, Massachusetts from the afterlife.

Even in the afterlife, O’Connor remains a detective. He can interrogate the ghosts of past Salem citizens to piece together the mystery. He also has the ability to read the minds of the living, and influence their thoughts an actions, although it would seem he can’t communicate with them directly.

Oh, and of course, there’s the occasional battle with demonic spirits.

Murdered: Soul Suspect is slated for release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
